Chapter 73: 73. Fame
"You are more famous than you think, Ben Cooper. Or should I say, the youngest S-Class Mage in Fiore's history who held the power of Sun Dragon, the Sun's Child, 'Karna'," says Makarov to Ben.
"WHAT?! HE IS THAT KARNA?" says Mira & Elfman with shocked expressions.
"Geh, please don't call me with that. I am not God's son. Bearing Karna's name is too heavy for me," says Ben.
"Ben is Ben, Ben is not Karna," Bella nods while sitting on Ben's head.
"Look, even Bella doesn't like it," says Ben.
"Haha, that means people have high hope toward you," says Makarov.
"How do you know me?" asks Ben.
"Every Guild Master knows your name. The public may not know your name that well because you are from a small Guild. But almost all big figures know your name," says Makarov.
Ben's name starts to rise after he succeeds to taught the worst students in Clover town's Magic School until they became the best in the school. No other school have such a result, so it gathered a lot of attention.
He gathered more attention when he became an S-Class mage. It's not that big at first, but after he started to finish his S-Class jobs fast and efficiently, the big figures finally saw him in a different light.
However, Ben's name is only known by big figures like Guild Masters or other S-Class mages. He never appears in public while taking jobs. His Guild is also small and hidden, so the public never heard his name.
It's different from S-Class mages from big guilds like Fairy Tail. Their youngest S-Class mage, Erza Scarlet, has gathered a lot of public attention since she got promoted.
Fairy Tail is located in a big town, Magnolia. So everything that the Guild does will always be known by the public. So of course, a 15 y.o S-Class mage will gather a lot of attention from anyone.
Ben leaves that thinking and focuses on driving to the West Forest of Magnolia. They finally arrived at the doctor's location in the forest. It is a house that was built inside a giant tree, very interesting.
Ben then takes Lisanna while Makarov knocks on the door. Soon, an old woman with pink hair comes out from the treehouse. She seems very unfriendly, but she immediately tells them to get inside after seeing the 3 siblings' condition.
They enter the house and Ben puts Lisanna on a bed. The old woman, Porlyusica, checks Lisanna's condition first. Mira & Elfman wait with worried expressions.
"Hmm? This is," says Porlyusica while frowning.
"What happen?" asks Makarov.
"Her soul is not in her body although it is still connected," says Porlyusica.
The others get surprised and think of the worst.
"Don't worry, she won't die as long as she keeps getting nutrition. But I can't predict when she will wake up again. She is in a comatose state," says Porlyusica.
Mira & Elfman slumped down and cry after hearing that.
"How's that possible? I'm sure her injuries weren't that fatal before," says Ben.
"Can you tell me what happen before?" asks Makarov.
Ben nods and then he starts to narrate everything. Makarov & Porlyusica widen their eyes after hearing Ben's explanation. It seems they know something, but they're not sure of it.
"Mira, Elfman, don't worry. We will find a way to save Lisanna even though it won't be easy. Don't lose your hope or it will really end. At least Lisanna is still alive now, so you can find a way to save her," says Makarov.
Mira & Elfman nod weakly. They are happy that Lisanna can be saved, but they don't know-how, so it makes them sad. Ben then crouch in front of the 2 and put his hands on their head to pat them.
"Hey, you love your sister, right? If you love her, then don't act like that. Show her that you are strong and will do anything to save her. What she needs isn't your sadness, it's your love & support."
"Nothing's end until it's really end. No matter how hard or how long it will take to save her, as her family, you should never give up. If even you lose hope, who else will be there for her? So be strong!" says Ben while patting their heads and smiling.
Bella also flies to Mira & Elfman, then she pats their head like Ben. "Don't give up! Bella will help you, Bella is strong. Right, Ben?"
"Yeah, we will help you if you need our help," says Ben.
Mira & Elfman finally realize it and their spirit lifted up. Ben is right, it hasn't ended yet for them. As long as Lisanna is still alive, then they will be able to save her.
Makarov & Porlyusica smile seeing what happened. They're glad that the siblings can calm down, but they're also surprised by Ben. He is very mature despite being younger than Elfman.
After calming Mira & Elfman, Ben stands up to leave. He can't do anything in here, so he should leave now. Makarov & Porlyusica will be able to handle the other things, so he will leave it to them.
"Master Makarov, I will take my leave now. I need to report the anomaly to Magic Council. It's my job, after all," says Ben.
"Alright, I understand. Thank you for your help, Little Ben," says Makarov.
Ben nods and gets out of the treehouse. He walks to his car, but suddenly Mira comes out and calls him.
"Hey!" calls Mira.
Ben turns around and asks her, "What is it?"
"T-Thanks. Thanks for saving us. I don't know what will happen if you didn't come," says Mira shyly while looking down.
Ben smiles and pats her head again, "You're welcome."
Mira blushed and flick Ben's hand from her head. "Stop it! I'm not a kid anymore."
"Hmm? Ah, sorry, it's my habit. My little sisters like it, so I always do it," says Ben.
Bella nods in agreement because the sisters that Ben means are her, Wendy, & Carla.
"Hmph, I'm not your sister, and I am older than you, so don't treat me like that!" says Mira while looking away.
"Alright, I'm sorry. But you also shouldn't keep acting like an angry kid. It makes your charm gone. I'm sure you will look more beautiful if you smile," says Ben while smiling and patting Mira's head again to tease her.
"I-I TOLD YOU TO NOT DO THAT AGAIN!" yells Mira while backing off with a red face.
"HAHA," Ben just laughs at that and turns around to leave.
Ben walks to his car while waving his hand to Mira. He doesn't realize that Mira's face has turned red and her head is steaming. She put her hands on her head and rub her head lightly while pouting.
"I'm not a kid anymore," grumbles Mira with a weak voice.
Mira then looks at Ben who leaves with his car. Ben & Bella wave their hands at her from the car. Mira raises her hands a little and waves a little too. A thin smile also can be seen on her face.
Mira looks at the leaving car while smiling and whispers, "Thanks, Ben."
