Chapter 13: Chapter 13: The Gift
I entered my room. I asked Ria to go to her room and said that I'll be fine as long as I am with AVA. She made me promise not to open the gift without her.
I turned the second sound barrier to keep the indoor sounds from going out. Just then I got a call. It was not a number I knew. I picked it up and it was Mafia. Ria told about the gift to Mafia and she was happy for me.
I asked AVA to play the melodies from my playlists. I took a bath and got ready to go on my night shifts. I asked AVA to keep it a secret and she instantly agreed.
I was wondering that I should go or not. Then my phone rang and AVA told me that it was my dad's. I picked it up it turned out to be a video call and my dad saw me as Dread X.
I thought he'd be mad but he said it was my wish that I should go or not. He came to know about me being the new school queen and congratulated me. I told him about Zander being the the new school king.
He said he wanted to talk to Zander. I had to agree and quickly got changed quickly. I went out of the room and went to Zander's room. I knocked. I told Zander it was me.
He opened the door and Zander's AI friend went alert alert intruder alert.
"Hi, what's your name?" I asked.
"I am EREN" the AI replied still with a red alert.
"EREN she's..um..a friend" Zander said to EREN and EREN scanned me.
I told Zander that my father wants to talk to him. He was a little surprised but then said ok. I excused myself to my room for Skincare and that Zander call me when I'm done.
I went to my room and finished my routine while they talked. When I finished I checked the timing it was almost six. I went to Zander's room to ask if he was done. As soon as I reached his door, he called for me.
We talked for while after which Zander asked me to dinner and I was ok with that. I told him is eight okay and he agreed. I went back to my room. I saw Zander's gift sitting there on bed.
I decided not to go out tonight. I went and changed into my night gown since there were still two hours for dinner with Zander. I sat there for some time listening to music. My cold but calm eyes kept falling on the gift.
I studied and practiced my key guitar for a while. The melodies of the music filled the room but since the sound barriers were off the music rang across the whole hall. Soon after noticing this AVA turned the barrier on.
But needless to say I kept getting distracted. So, I decided to open up that gift today afterall. I slowly started removing the tape so that I would be gentle enough not to break anything inside.
The moment saw what the gift was, it was like I was struck with lightening. I felt goosebumps. I was shocked, terrified, happy, surprised, angry, all at the same time.
A flashback of the memory I almost forgot swiped itself again and again infront of my eyes...
My heart sank...
It was a diamond and platinum watch, a French watch...
I had a zillion questions in mind right now. How did know what happened in the past with me? Does he know that I had a break up when I was young? Does he even like me anymore? What will I say to him now? Does he know anything about my past?
I played my instrument just to keep my mind off this stuff. It calmed me down a little. I latter talked with my dad about this and he calmly told me that this must be a random gift.
I listened to him. I was in deep thought. On one side I was thinking of the time I was tricked on the other hand I was thinking about how similar Zander and I are and happy he makes me feel.
AVA rang an alarm which managed to bring me back to my senses...
It was 7:30 finally. I had to get ready for the dinner with Zander. This time I didn't use magic getting ready. I kept things simple.
I wore an empire waist frock type dress which revealed my long, snow-white legs and thin ankles. I wore high navy blue heels matching my dress. Just a little blush, some eyeshadow, eyeliner and lip balm and I was ready.
I was up and running and only fifteen minutes were left. I wore the watch given to me by Zander. I decided to go early.
KNOCK!..KNOCK!..
I entered Zander's room and it was beautiful. Just the right lighting and candle lit were just a few of the plus points. And seeing Zander there alone, I was amazed.
He did all this by himself...
And he was looking like an Angel to me sent from heaven. I was deep in thought.
He saw me looking around and was shocked to see me this early. Ofcourse he knew I was punctual but this was too strange.
"Um.. you're here and I haven't even got ready..great!..just great!" Zander said feeling ashamed.
