Chapter 2: Chapter One - Part Two

Walking to the bus stop, the children were talking about the Charles twins' disappearance, making the parents of Isaac and Eddie Charles going crazy, hoping the police officers would do something about their missing children. And that's why the children were also talking about the two police officers there who were parked across the street, watching the children.

"Hailie and I were the last ones to speak with the twins before they vanished," Lucy said loudly, making the five children, who were standing there waiting for the school bus, looked straight at the Peake sisters.

"What were they doing when you spoke with the boys?" a brown-haired young girl asked the sisters.

Lucy looked at Hailie, hoping she could answer the question, making Hailie sigh, answering the younger girl, "Isaac told us that he was going back to the well, along with Eddie."

The sentence made the group of children gasp in shock, making the girl say, "Why will they do that?! Everyone knows that we shouldn't go to that well! Haven't they heard the rumors about the cursed thing?!"

Another child sighed annoyed, "Why do people believe those stupid rumors anyway?"

Hailie flushed red, looking at the child, who had their hands in their pockets, rolling their dark blue eyes. This child, actually was a teen, who everyone, meaning the whole trailer park, knew this young boy very well, and that wasn't a good thing and his name was Blake Kroeger, who was just two years older than Hailie.

"Anyway, Hailie, what did they tell you?" Blake questioned the eleven-year-old.

"They wanted Lucy and me to go with them to the well," she replied, glancing at her sister before her rich blue eyes drifted back to Blake.

Once again, the eldest Peake sister had made the children, minus Blake, gasp in horror. Instead of Blake gasping, his dark blue eyes had widened, "They are stupid!"

The police officers could hear the children and they were also going to question the Peake sisters, with the girl's father's permission. They wanted to know more about what the children were talking about before the Charles twins vanished.

The police officers parked in front of the Peakes' trailer. They stared up at the trailer, thinking about the weirdest guy in the trailer park. Everyone knows that Mr. Marshall Peake kept to himself since what had happened to his wife. They stepped out of the car, walking up to the trailer, knocking on the door.

They waited for a few minutes before the door opened, showing the police officers Marshall drinking, "What do y'all want?"

"We wanted your permission to question your daughters about the Charles twins' disappearance. They were the last ones to talk to them before the boys disappeared," one of the officers told Marshall.

Marshall took a drink of his can of beer, staring at the two police officers, "How do you know that my girls were the last ones to speak to the boys?"

"One of your daughters told their friends that they had spoken to them. Isaac and Edward told your daughters that they were going to a well and they wanted your daughters to go with them."

Marshall's eyes darken, pointing at the hill, "My daughters are going to stay the hell away from the well! Didn't y'all heard what happened?! Why are people afraid of that thing on the other side of the hill?!"

The police officers looked at the hill before their eyes drifted back to Marshall, with one officer saying, "What are people saying about the well?"

Marshall rolled his eyes, "Of course. You, officers, don't know the story behind the well. And no, you cannot talk to my daughters. Have a good day, sir."

Marshall closed the door on the two officers, having them sigh, really hoping they could talk to the girls.

Marshall peeked out of his window, watching the two officers leave in their car. He wasn't going to allow his daughters to be questioned. He remembered when the last he was questioned by the police. The time that his wife vanished. And everyone thought, and still thinks that he had something to do with his wife's disappearance. Marshall sighed, looking at the picture of him and his wife with a young Hailie and a newborn Lucy. He swore that he didn't do anything to his wife but no one believed him because he was known for abusing his wife. Yes, that was true, him abusing his wife but he would never kill his wife, like everyone in the trailer park would say. And that's why he's very protective of his two little girls. He wants nothing to happen to Hailie and Lucy.

He looked away from the picture, leaving his trailer, hoping that the police won't try to question his daughters. He walked down the road, not caring that everyone that walked passed him, giving him strange looks. He was thinking about his daughters and thinking of how he's going to protect his sweet little girls.

Hailie and Lucy stepped off the bus with Hailie talking to Blake. Lucy was holding Hailie's hand while she kept her mouth shut, knowing that Hailie will start talking to her soon.

Lucy looked up to Hailie, who's the only woman in her life. Hailie was always there for her when she needed someone to be there. She grew up without a mother and a father that ignores her and her sister. And she never met any other family members before. Her sister had told her once that her family on both sides didn't care about them at all because of their father.

"So, Hailie. I was wondering if you want to hang out. I know that you're just eleven and I'm thirteen but I would love to hang out with ya," Blake told the young girl, giving her a dashing smile.

A smile forms on the girl's lips, having her say, "I would love to, Blake. I just have to ask my papa. You know how he gets when I don't tell him where I'm going."

"Your papa needs a chill pill! He cannot always control you and your sister, Hailie."

Lucy glanced at Blake, not really liking how he was talking to her and talking rudely about her father. She pulled at her sister's sleeve, wanting her to stop the thirteen-year-old talking rude about their father.

"Blake. He's just protective over Lucy and me. Since our mother's disappearance seven years ago, he's been wanting to protect us and doesn't want us to get hurt. You need to understand that."

Blake rolled his eyes, glancing at the eleven-year-old. The young boy has been lately watching Hailie more and more. He knew Hailie since she was born. Their papas were friends, making the two know each other and spend time with Hailie. When Hailie had turned eleven, Blake noticed how beautiful the young girl was and that's why he's been spending more and more time with Hailie, wanting the eleven-year-old.

"Come on, Hailie. You are eleven and need to not always spend time with your papa and sister."

Lucy hugged her sister's arm, not liking Blake anymore. She knew that Blake had been trying to take her sister from her and their papa. She wasn't the only one that noticed this. Marshall noticed this too, making him hate his friend, who was the father of Blake.

"Why don't you drop your sister off at our trailer? We need to hang out," Blake told the girl, having the trio stop in front of the Peakes' trailer, smirking at the girl.

Hailie glanced at her younger sister, who was hiding her face in Hailie's arms, keeping her eyes on Blake.

The three didn't know that Marshall was watching them through the window, glaring at the boy that was speaking with Hailie. That's when Hailie had said something to Lucy before giving Lucy her bag, leaving with Blake. Marshall watched as his eldest daughter walked away, leaving his youngest daughter in tears.
