Chapter 4: Calm the fuck down
I felt protected from all sides. The calming aura penetrated my defenses, like a hot knife through butter. My eyes strain hard to keep open, lose the battle as every blink I take, my eyes close a little further. As I enter a dreamless sleep I think of nothing, no weird memories that shouldn't be mine, no panicky feeling that makes me wake up in a gasp covered in sweat, nothing. And in that moment of sleep calmness is all there is.
When I wake up I slowly start remembering what had happened. I slowly gained focus on the world around me, I still heard humming, the low rumbling of the melody softly vibrating in my ear. I realized I was pressed up against silk clothes, and that I was curling into said silk clothes whilst being rocked back and forth. A smooth hand with short nails starts coming into my hair, making me go into an almost mind numbing content. I have always loved when my hair got played with.
After a while of having my hair combed through, content to just stay there but wanting to know who was doing that, I looked up to see who was combing my hair. What I saw was a very beautiful feminine frame with tan olive, fair skin, eyes an amber brown with slit pupils, perfect wings of eye liner, and eye shadow following the eyes. The clothes that felt like silk was a dress, observing it the colors were mainly pearl white with a gold trim. The dress fit perfectly over their hourglass frame. A thin translucent cloth attaching from the back, loosely flowing down the arms to the wrists attaching to bracelets making it look like a loose cape. Their hair was black silky and straight going down to their waist line.
The person stopped humming when they realized I had woken up.
"Hello dear" the Person said, their voice sounded exactly like Bast's
"Bast?" I question wanting to confirm my suspicion
"Yes, that is me dear, hello" Bast giggled
"A-ah hello" I nervously reply not know what to say
Bast guessing that begins to talk, "You gave us all quite a scare there, but I guess that's mostly my fault for not sensing your anxiety and frustration"
"Ah yes, sorry about that" I reply not really in the talking mood, I try to get out of Bast's hold, they let me. As I stand up I dust myself off, not because there was dust on me but I did so to keep me preoccupied into not looking at Bast's eyes, embarrassed of my freak out.
"No, no it wasn't your fault…" Bast said deciding it's better to move to another topic,
"Say I heard from Naga that you were asking about pronouns, I don't believe you got mine or Deer's did you. My pronouns are she/her/hers, and Deer's are he/him/his or you could just call him his name Deer like Crystal. What are yours?" Bast asks gently
"I go by they/them/their pronouns sometimes he/him/his but that's really more in titles like Brother, Sir, Son, ect." I say looking at Bast's eyes showing my seriousness for such a topic.
Bast smiles at me in a motherly way, eyes shining with mirth, "I would like to tell you that we have as much time as you need to clarify things. Rushing information was not the brightest idea on my part. Just because I needed to be somewhere doesn't mean I can rush these things. You're far more important than a meeting with other deities of my world, I could always skip it, it's not like they always need me there, plus they know that my job may make me miss a few meetings unless it's an emergency meeting."
"Wait, how do you need to be somewhere, make the process of me becoming a death domain be rushed?" I asked really confused
"Ah well, when a meeting is called here everyone has to show up, so if one person leaves then the meeting will close and we, the death domains will be sent back to our worlds. So in other words if I needed to leave and this wasn't finished we would have to wait for a new meeting to rise again and our schedules are all really full so the meeting could be years from now."
"Ah, so you're missing a meeting to be here with me?" I hesitantly said
"Ah yes but, again it wasn't important. Anyways would you like me to call back the others as Naga was especially worried about you, so was Crystal and Deer but they are less expressive than Naga." Bast wondered, not knowing if I wanted the others around or not
"Oh I hope I didn't worry them too much. Can I see them please?" I said
"Oh course my dear" Bast said
"Naga, Crystal, Deer! Come here." Bast called out
"Coming, Bast!" I heard Naga yell
After a minute or two, I saw Naga dragging Deer and Crystal over to us from the flower field, up the hill, and to us.
"We're here!" Naga yelled as ze let go of Crystal and Deer and ran over to us
"I'm glad you're alright! I was really worried about you" Naga said stretching out the word 'really' as ze then proceeded to glomp me, knocking me over from the sheer force put into the tackle-hug
"Oomph!" I let out
"Heh heh oopsie" Naga said giggling on top of me who was splayed out of the floor
"Naga, what do you say" Bast said dragging out the a sound as a warning
"Sorry" Naga replied to me with a Cheshire grin that said ze, didn't really mean it
"Now onto business" Bast said loudly to get everyone attention
"This time we are going to do this right, come here everyone" Bast patting the ground making it clear that she wanted everyone to sit on the ground
Deer who was still in his animal form, chose to show his human form. His skin was bronze, hair was white with light purple highlights, he wore clothes almost entirely made of deer pelts all pure white, most likely made from an albino deer, tools of bone hanging from a belt, all engraved with glowing blue glyphs. His eyes are an intense electric light blue, almost as if it glows whether it was dark or sunny. His build is very Sturdy and tall reaching about 6'5, muscles built for strength making his muscles very pronounced.
We all decided to sit in a circle formation all looking at Bast
"Okay now that we are all here, I believe we should all start to really get into what being a Death domain is and what you should know. So to start off-" Bast began
