Chapter 3: Chapter Three: It Will Be Okay
All I did over the weekend besides homework was try to calm myself from what Jude told me. About him and Sabrina dating. It hurt like a wrecking ball was breaking my heart. I know what you're thinking, "how can you be in love with your best friend?" When you have a relationship as close as mine is with Jude, then come back and ask me. People fall in love with their best friend and don't even know it until one of the friends expresses feelings for someone else. That's what basically happened. I'm glad it did because I would love to marry my best friend in the future, whether it is Jude or not. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
Monday at school was weird watching Sabrina and Jude hand-in-hand in the hallway. Watching them be all lovey-dovey during lunch, eating by themselves and not with their friends like they did before. I hung out with Jude after school like we use to. It was nice of him to keep his promise and not ignore me anymore.
Tuesday was the same as Monday, only Jude couldn't hang out because he was going to help Sabrina study for a history test, since you know like I told you in the beginning, she's not smart. Jude is in all honors classes and gets A in every class, except for Spanish. He's white, I don't know how the hell he got into Spanish 2.
Today was Wednesday and Jude couldn't hang out again because Sabrina wanted to go to the park after his football practice. I decided to text Jordyn and see if she was maybe up for hanging out. I needed another friend to be able to vent to, I can't just rely on Jude. Besides, Luke and I aren't at the point to where I can tell him anything. I just sit with him in Geometry, because I'm smart in math so I take a sophomore course and during lunch and break.
Me: hey
jordyn: hiii, what's up?
Me: nothing much, wanna come over?
jordyn: I'll be over in 10!
We've been texting a lot lately. I sent her my address and then decided to check my Snapchat. I saw that Jude had updated his story so I clicked to view it. It was a video of Sabrina with his phone and then she pointed the camera at him and he kissed her cheek. I could feel my stomach drop a little when I saw it. I decided to lock my phone and place it on my nightstand. I grabbed my laptop and started an episode of The Flash while I waited for Jordyn.
Jordyn arrived just a few minutes after the episode began. I wasn't really watching it because the thought of Jude and Sabrina hanging out kept making my stomach ill. Jordyn knew something was up because when she entered my room my eyes were staring blankly at the screen.
"Aly?" She questioned as she walked in.
"Sorry, hey Jordyn. I was just thinking." I told her.
"What about?" She said as she sat at the end of my bed.
"Just stuff," I answered blankly.
"Aly, what's bothering you? You can tell me anything."
"Jude."
"What about him? Aren't you guys pretty close?"
"We're best friends," I️ paused and looked down at the floor, "at least we were until he started hanging out with Sabrina."
"Aww, I am so sorry. I don't think they look good together, she seems pretty fake."
"But that's not the only problem."
"What do you mean?" She asked me looking a little confused.
"I️ think I️ might be starting to catch feelings for him..." I️ trail off.
"Awww, honey." She says in a sincere tone as she moves closer to me to give me a hug. "What's wrong with that? Maybe if you tell him, he'll like you too."
"Or maybe he won't and it will ruin our whole friendship, and our friendship means the world to me."
"I️ understand, but you will never know if you never tell him."
"I️'ll tell him," I️ paused and did a devilish smile, "when he and Sabrina break up."
"Aly," she gives me a stern look, "that could be ages from now, what if you lose feelings?"
"Then that's good! But can we please just do something fun now? Talking about him just hurts a little knowing it can never happen."
"Sure, what do you wanna do?"
"Shopping?" I️ asked to make sure she's down.
"Of course!" She said with what sounded like a fake excited voice to over exaggerate the mood.
I️ hung out with Jordyn the whole day. We just went shopping, it was fun. Its been a while since I️ really hung out with just a girl, for most of my life it was just me and Jude, but I'm glad I️ have a new best friend who I️ can trust. It was funny cause we ran into Luke and one of his buddies at the mall. So Jordyn and I decided to hang out with them, Jordyn and Ray seemed to have been hitting it off, it was pretty cute. Me on the other hand, I️ talked to Luke and it wasn't so bad. Jordyn said it looked like he was trying to hold my hand but pulled it back each time. Hearing that made me smile a little, but after today, I️ just know that everything is going to be okay.
