Chapter 5: Fifty steps laughing at one hundred steps
Lorraine went to have her physical strength test as promised to Feng Lin. Somehow she managed to withstand to run continuously in a gravitational room for seven hours, even when her pace was slower and slower which became a walk, she still didn't stop. Feng Lin had to call Chen Sha to terminate the test which Lorraine fainted into his arms and send her to rest at the base's treating unit.
The next day.
Feng Lin got out of the elevator and hurriedly walked to Lorraine's ward to see Zi Yan stood leaning against the wall playing tarot cards in his hand while openly eavesdropping with his extraordinary ability of hearing.
Feng Lin walked over and asked helplessly, "Do you have that much free time lately?"
Zi Yan glanced at her and sloppy said, "Aren't I working now? Oh! Listen! We are all evil mutants with ulterior motive..."
"Did princess said that?" Feng Lin's face was ugly and was about to kick the ward's door open.
"No." Zi Yan grabbed her. He smiled and made a silent gesture telling her not to get emotional and listened to the show.

Inside the ward.
Lorraine stared at Qing Yue and said sternly: "From now on, I hope to never hear you speak the word mutant in such a tone again!"
Qing Yue was tearful. Her face full of unacceptance: "I am not wrong. They are originally humans carrying mutant genes!"
Lorraine had lost all memories. She had no prejudices against 'mutant'.
Qing Yue saw Lorraine didn't say a word so she became more confident: "Princess clearly hates them, so why should you felt wrong about..."
"I don't hate them!" Lorraine resolutely said her real thoughts. She did not receive the princess's love, and will not receive her hatred.
"Odin Federation only proposed to marry a princess without specifying me. It was not Odin who forced me to marry, it was Al! As a princess abandoned by Al Empire, if you want to hate Odin, you must hate Al even more. Shouldn't I go to avenge Al Emperor who drugged and threw me on the spaceship?"
Qing Yue looked embarrassed and murmured, "But, this is Odin Federation. They are all mutants!"

Qing Yue's face flushed red, tears rolling in her eyes. Both Qing Yue and Qin Chu did not have pure genes. Their ancestor at some point also had partially modified their genes.
Lorraine said: "In the age of the ancient earth, a long time ago, there was a story of 'Fifty steps laughing at a one hundred steps'. It was about a group of soldiers who went to battle on the battlefield. They all ran away because of fear. In the end, the men who ran fifty steps stops and laugh at the men who ran hundred steps. Do you think the soldier who fled fifty steps should look down on the soldier who fled hundred steps?"
Lorraine held Qing Yue with one hand and Qing Chu with the other hand: "We are already in Odin Federation. If we keep thinking about its disadvantages, it will only make us unhappy. Try to find the good side and make ourselves happy, wouldn't it be better?"

Outside the ward
Zi Yan eavesdropped and passed on Feng Lin.
Suddenly, a tall figure stood silently beside her and Zi Yan.
Feng Lin looked up in surprise and saw that it was Chen Sha. She's very embarrassed that they had eavesdropped on his wife and were caught, but Zi Yan did not feel embarrassed at all. He briefly retold what Lorraine had said before with a calm expression and asked with a smile, "Is it interesting?"

Feng Lin looked at Chen Sha and said with hidden meaning: "We are lucky! I thought she would be a big trouble and didn't expect princess to have such a distinct mind and good personality, completely different from what I expected."

Feng Lin went in to the ward and reported Lorraine about her physical strength test. It turned out that Lorraine got an E level from physical strength test with a probably hidden A level strength. She made the worst record in the history of Odin since normally the lowest was level C, except in the hidden potential part. There was no injury, she was just too tired and needed some rest. Now her condition was better and Feng Lin allowed Chen Sha to bring Lorraine home.
In the flying car
Chen Sha was expressionless and silent.
She felt it was embarrassing and impolite to keep silent in such a small space. She smiled and said, "You should be busy at work, right? I'm sorry to trouble you to pick me up..."
"Shut up."
"Why?" Lorraine's word slipped with her hot head.
"No need for the fake smile and no need to try chatting." Chen Sha paused, "It's not that I want to pick you up. Consul heard that you fainted and ordered me to show up."
As sharp and frank as always! It's fine for her not to put on an act anyway.

When the flying car stopped in front of their house, Lorraine said "thank you" and got off the car immediately to find Zi Yan in the main hall.

Lorraine's face got fully amazed: "Huh? Really? I don't remember!" Were you expecting me to say that 'I felt like the god who saved me had finally come in the midst of a bright beam of light'?
"You don't remember even a bit?" Zi Yan's face was full of pity.
Lorraine was also full of pity: "I was beat dead at that time, my mind was confused, and I didn't remember what happened."

He even pretended to move closer to Lorraine's ear and spoke in low voice, "I'll tell you a secret. Chen Sha is still a virgin, enjoy well."
Chen Sha dashed in like a sharp sword. Zi Yan difficultly jumped and flipped away and directly escaped through the window.
Lorraine's face was lifeless. Chen Sha looked at Lorraine and she immediately evading the subject by saying to him: "The gravity room thing that Zi Yan said...I was really tired and confused at that time. I apologize..."
"It's nothing. It's just like holding a slimy ferret." Chen Sha dismissed lightly showing that he didn't care about it.
Lorraine got back to her room and searched for the slimy ferret on the star network.
It was a creature on a primitive star with a length of 1.7 to 2 meters, resembling a skunk, but without hair, secreting black-green mucus and exuding a strong smell.
You were the one who was a slimy ferret! You all were the slimy ferrets!
