Chapter 2: Chapter 2
Raya looked uncertain of what is about to happen and Bellany looked like she is about to cause unnecessary trouble now, I hope they are not upset just because I didn't eat with them, I couldn't find them in the first place for some while.
I smiled at both of them nervously waiting for what they want to say.
"Hey girls, you must be Lizzie's friends, come join us" Luke said, wait, did he just call me Lizzie? and that's sweet of him to ask so.
"Yeah guys come join us" I say right after Luke.
"Sounds great" Raya smiled nervously and sat down, Bellany let out a deep breath then sat down.
"The more food the better" mumbled Jayden while eating.
"So how did you become friends with Luke?" Bellany asked in annoyance.
"Umm, Sofia was giving me a hard time and Luke helped me out" I say looking at the table, usually I don't tell them about Sofia so they don't have to worry about me.
"Oh, Thank you so much luck for helping Liz, Luke, Sofia gives her a hard time often"
"Yeah I can tell" he smiled apologitacally at me and Raya.
"Yeah so guys we have mixed our foods to eat together and share" Luke explained why Jayden is almost done with half of our food.
"I want to share too" Raya said with that cute smile of hers, she is such a sweetie.
"Do you not want to share Bellany ?"
"No, I can't, I'm on a diet and you should be too if you want to look good" she says the second half of the sentence under her breath so no one almost heard her clearly.
"If you say so, you are going to miss the fun of sharing" Raya teased then me and her started tasting Jayden's food.
"That's good, not bad, does it have by any chance any kind of nuts?" I ask
"Umm, yes why?" answered Jayden bluntly
"Oh god no, do you have your shot?" Raya asked. I motioned for my bag as I started having difficulty breathing, my allergies are acting up.
"Wait, Lizzie do you have allergy from peanuts? I should have asked you before. Are you okay?" he wrapped his hand around my back to make me more comfortable.
"Its fine" I say as I pat his knee gently.
Raya gets the shot out of my bag and gives it to me, I open in it and sting myself with the needle. I feel my body slowly relaxing back again.
"I'm so sorry Liz, I didn't mean to, I didn't know y--" Jayden said scared at the sight of the needle.
"It's fine, that's why I carry a shot around with me, it happens, not everyone knows, it's fine" I say calming them down.
"I knew that sharing wasn't the best idea" Bellany said sarcastically
"Nope, it's still good" I say
"I guess you can eat the rest of my sandwishes then" Luke says as he lets go of his grip around my back.
"Do they have nuts?" I joked, they all smiled and we started eating again.
"Thanks Luke" I say in a whisper and he heard it and smiled then continued the conversation.
In a little while after that the bell rang for the end of the break we all groaned then went to our classes. A long while later and the school day passed finally.
"Hey Liz" Jayden called from my back.
"Hey Jayden" I smile.
"Do you want to solve homework together?" He asked.
"You mean I give you the homework after I solve it right?"
"No seriously, I want to get better at my studies and I need a partner to study with and motivate me because I get bored easily"
"Okay then, Later" I wave at him and start walking.
"Hey, where are you going?" He calls for me.
"What? didn't you want to ask if you can study with me? you've got something else to ask?"
"Nope, let's go now, I have some Taekwondo practice later in the day and tomorrow as well, now is good"
"Ok then, where are we going to study then?" I ask
"At your house?" he suggests.
"Nope, I can't bring you over and I can't come over to your house as well"
" You know what, let's just head to the library down the street here" I point at the library.
"Cool let's go"
We enter and sit by a table, I get my books out and so does Jayden and we start with something light like English. After some while we started in Maths.
"Hey Liz, I don't get how diffrentiated this?"
"Okay, so we multiply the variable by its power then we subtract one from the power and if it's a trignometric function, you need to multiply that by the derivative of the function" I explain slowly so he can catch up with me.
He scratches his head in frustration then says" Okay then, I'm going to give it a try"
"Go ahead, you will probably get it" I encouraged him as I solved some calculus myself.
After studying for some while it becomes 5 pm.
"Hey Liz, I think we need to stop here now, because the practice will start in less than 30 minutes, Let's continue tomorrow"
"Ok then great"
"Do you want to come watch the practice?"
"I guess I won't mind" It's better than going home to clean and cook dinner till mum shows up again.
We walk to the Taekwondo center where he plays Taekwondo and I sit around to watch, I see that Luke is as well here and I suddenly smile, wait, why am smiling like that oh my God, I feel like a silly teenager. He caught me smiling and smiled at me. He better focus before he gets hit by one of his practice buddies.
Jayden and Luke came sit next to me in their break. They chugged some water and took their breaths.
"Guys you are awesome" I say in excietment.
"Aren't we?" Jayden says acting with arrogance and we all laughed after.
"Thank you Lizzie, oh about that, do you want to join us?" Luke asked me. I look at him in surprise then he smiles. I haven't played any sports in a good while.
"Is that a yes or no ?" he asked
"Hey Liz, come practice with us and we can study before, that would actually be great"
"And you can defend yourself too" Luke said
"Ok, ok guys, I will go practice with you from tomorrow then"
"Yay" Jayden squealed like a kid about to go to Disney park. I think Taekwondo practice is a good distraction from home.
