Chapter 2: The hunt part 1

A few months before.

The sun was warm and cozy that morning, the soldiers were gathering their camp while the nobleman entered the cart taking the prisoner with him who woke up sleepy, being pulled by the chains, the girl was well dressed and with no trace of ill treatment, however , he was just a child who, with his head held high, showed no fear.

—Did you sleep well? - Asks the lord putting it inside the cart.

He stares at her, the girl sits fearlessly in the corner of the cart, her wavy blue hair curls over the leather seats, her flipper-shaped ears are down as if she doesn't want to hear him, her delicate face tries not to stare. the lord.

The man enters the cart and sits in front of her, watching her, he doesn't look too happy but satisfied enough to bloom a cruel smile on his face, he throws his hair that looked more like golden strands behind his pointed ears, his blue eyes showed his satisfaction like a cat staring at a bird it had caught flying.

—Worse than that, you on the surface have no idea how to treat a guest!-She says with rancor in her voice.

The man snuggles into the bench without looking away from her, hiding his hands in the pockets of his blue and gold robes, with gold stitching that formed a dragon on his chest.

—Guest? I don't think you understand your current situation, young lady, you will go with me to Dragoness, your hand will be mine and thus we will make a bond with the people of the sea!

She looks up at him, her eyes revealing her kind, a cold, arrogant look in a lifeless indigo hue.

—Do you really think you'll get my people to follow you with forced marriage? You have no idea how our culture works!

"I don't know, but i know how love potions work!" - He says waving a pink bottle.—I just need you to accept my order in front of them and then the deal will be complete. The rest I'll manage later!

—Where did you get that?-She asks trying not to show fear but her body retreats into the seat.

—Let's just say that with the Gods on our side, there isn't a part of this world we can't enter! - He says with a smirk.

The girl realizes how serious that situation is but still held her head high without showing weakness or fear.

Outside, the soldiers had already finished arranging the carts that were covered with gold, wealth and food. The horses start walking, the soldiers walking behind them, their blue and black robes with the image of the Dragon drawn on their backs, the cross-shaped swords on their waists and the shields on their backs.

—How hot!-Says the youngest in a stretch.

—The south is really hot.- Says one beside him, who was trying to cool off by swinging with his robes.

—See? This is my little girl, she was born two months ago! Guy! As soon as I get back to Dragoness I'll drop the armor! No adventures for me, I'm going to be a father present to this sweetie!-Says one of the soldiers showing an amulet where was a hologram of a newborn laughing.

—You're lucky my dear, but I confess that we'll miss you in the infantry!-Says the other, giving him a friendly slap on the back.

—Shiii!-Says a young man stopping suddenly in front of everyone.

Everyone stops and his superiors stare at him frowning.

—Did you "shii" for me recruit?-Asks the man keeping the amulet in his pocket.

—Quiet!-Says the boy not caring for his superior's anger, which made him pay more attention to what the recruit was staring at.

—What's wrong?-Asked his superior, drawing his sword and everyone repeating his action.

The boy goes to the tree, and faces a carved shooting star symbol.

—Oh no, we went too far into the Forest of Monsters, this is their territory.-Says the scared boy, backing away looking around the trees, noticing that the forest was too quiet.

—Whose territory?-Asks the general, coming into the conversation.

—From the children of the forest!-Says the frightened recruit.

His superior starts laughing at his fear, lowering his sword.

—They're just stories kid, I wouldn't see them taking them so...

He interrupts his speech when he sees an eagle bringing black clouds darkening the forest, the eagle peeps facing them.

—It's magic!- Shouts a soldier urgently.—Retreaaaaat!!-He shouts.

—You heard the man! Retreat!-The general says quickly to everyone. - The chariot starts to run in the opposite direction, but the eagle dives hitting the ground, unraveling in a ring of fire that holds them in a circle.

—Not this one. - Says the boy pointing to a humanoid crow on top of the tree.

He stares at him, startled, and realizes that it wasn't a raven, but a child with a feather-covered cloak and a raven-shaped healer's mask.

—It's him! -Screams the panicked recruit.

The crow makes a sign raising its arm revealing its white and apparently fragile skin of a pre-teen, some arrows fly towards the soldiers.

—What is this?- Asks a soldier looking at his feet covered in fluffy white snow.

—Snow? In the south?- The general asks, touching it with the tip of his foot.

The crow makes another signal by raising an arm upwards, wooden tribal masks of a coyote and the eagle come out of the ground cutting the necks of two soldiers and being blocked by the general who soon realizes they were children covered in a furry cape and another covered in feathers that disappear as quickly as they appeared, melting into snowflakes.

—Show your cowardly face!-Says the general ordering the formation.

—Lepus.-Says the crow.

Everyone turns their attention to the crow in the tree, his voice was hoarse and like someone tired and sick.

A rabbit jumps from the top of the tree, with white robes and elegant and delicate movement, made the soldiers startle, he seemed bigger than the others, the soldiers backing up putting their shields ready to protect them from the imminent attack.

The rabbit shows his staff outside the circle of fire, he makes a circular motion forming an empty circle in midair.

—Protect yourselves!-Says the general in panic.

The rabbit sticks his staff in the void, a beam of light shoots towards them. If protecting was useless the shields were no match for the light that burned them hitting the soldiers. The general manages to luckily dodge the beam of light, rolling in the grass and watching his friends burn alive in a scream of agonizing pain.

The general lets out a tear wrinkling his expression, his fangs are revealed and his blue eyes looked like a cat, he sticks his sword in the ground to help him up his anger is obvious in his face contorted by the pain of losing his friends and his subordinates, he runs on impulse running to attack the rabbit, the crow makes the movement for the arrows to be shot, and so it was done, however, the general's anger gives him strength and speed enough to defend himself with the shield that luckily there was enough left to protect him.

However, this time with the shield weakened the arrows pierce him, but the general throws him to the ground in time, going through seconds of being pierced by the arrows that are kept in the remains of his shield, he runs back towards the rabbit, jumping about the magic fire with the rage in his eyes and the blade in his hands with all his strength to hit the rabbit. He hits something, but it wasn't the rabbit but a hare mask, which snaps in half revealing a teenager's right eye with a murderous look the color of blood.

The hare advances against the general in a battle of swords, the blades clashed in sync, the hare's look of excitement was visible, its black skin revealed its Race, which made the general even more desperate to win the battle.

—Did they come for the potion? Brood of the underworld!-Asks the general when they've come to an impasse.

—I think it confused me, I'm not a demon.-Says the hare managing to hit the general's arm.

The general steps back and looks around with his peripheral vision, all the boys in the animal masks are standing still, as if watching their ally, knowing the general has no chance against him.

The hare attacks the General who dodges rolling on the ground and tries to hit him from the right that the hare defends with a dagger that he took out so quickly that the general didn't even notice.

—I'm a demigod, son of Apollo, surprised?!-he says seeming to have fun with that.

—How did you end up here? How did one of them end?! How did he become an assassin?!-He asks while the two fought a battle making sparks fly everywhere.

—I'm surprised you don't remember me, Clod! -The general opens his eyes when he hears his name.

The hare seizes the opportunity and hits Clod in the stomach, who drops the sword. The hare takes off his mask revealing his face.

—Caerula…Ray…-Says the general staring at the boy's face.

—Goodbye, Master. - Says Caerula giving the final blow and throwing the body on the floor, the pendant falls from his pocket and is covered by its owner's blood causing it to fail the hologram until it disappears and there is only a piece of useless and bloody metal.
