Chapter 8: LUNCH WITH YOU
Cuifen's POV
I woke up at 4am today to make breakfast, it's been a while we last had all 3 meals together. After making breakfast for everyone, I woke up my parents and surprised them with breakfast that I made, mom was so happy that she almost cried we finished our breakfast and I left for work.
I was about to enter before someone held my hand, it was Deming I smiled and greeted him, he let go of my hand and said "good morning, you look happy today" I nodded and replied "today after very long we ate breakfast together" He replied "hmm I see you are really busy I guess" I disagreed and said "it's just that I was busy in my own world, but someone made a window, so I am able to see outside world too" He asked "and miss who's that human?" I was about to speak, but one of my teammates came and said, "are you going to make it till room today or not?" He laughed and continued his way towards our laboratory.
Inside I changed my clothes and started working on syringe again and after 10 hours or so we succeeded in making one syringe finally, so we decided to take a lunch break as it was already 1pm. I left the building and walked towards my home because I wanted to have lunch with my parents, while walking down the road I met Deming he asked me "where are you going?" I replied "home" He asked, "can I join if you won't mind?" I was shocked I blinked few times and came back to my senses and said sure without even knowing what will I tell mom and dad, he noticed that something was off about me, he asked "are you really ok if I join?" I nodded again, he asked, "then why are you in a dilemma?" I replied, "what will I tell to mom and dad when I will introduce you to them?"
"Tell them I am their son-in-law."
" What did you say?"
" I said, tell them I am your friend."
"Oh! Yes, I didn't think about it."
" You are a really silly girl."
" I am silly, who do you think you are, huh?"
" I am Iron Man and you love me 3000."
" I don't even count you as my friend, and you are saying I love you sir, please come out of your world and live in reality and stop using these dialogues of avengers."
" Look who's talking, the one who lives in her own world and only have a window to look in and out."
" So now you will teach how I should live?"
" Now who am I to do that, just listen that your heart knows the way out."
I stopped and looked at him and said "don't you think you are more mature than your age?"
He chuckled and said "just experience babe"
I got pissed by his babe but never mind we reached home and whatever he said was true. I opened the door with keys and saw my mom in the kitchen, I shouted mom we have a guest, she came out fast and said is he your new boyfriend? Likewise, I got embarrassed and could hear him laughing I replied mom he's my friend we both are working together on project jade, remember I told you about that. He is the one who founded it my mom got shocked and said "that biggest project of the year, he's the one who can't get infected by any disease" Before I could answer her Deming said "yes mom it's me and did she tell you so much about me?"
"No boy she barely talks with me now, I read an article about you that's why I know this..." I interrupted and said, "wait a second, why are you calling her mom?"
" Let him call that Cuifen because I am really liking this boyfriend of yours"
" ugh mom, for how many times should I say he's not my boyfriend"
" Maybe he can be, well both of you sit down, food is ready" we both sat down, and I was really embarrassed because what just happened now. Mom served us the food, and we all ate quietly.
After eating mom invited Deming on dinner too my jaw dropped and Deming said "sure mom it's really nice to be around family" I was literally regretting my decision of calling him on lunch after a little talk, we left again for work. Way back, we didn't talk at all because I was too embarrassed. At work, we were able to finish 10 syringe today, and can finally start testing this on patients from tomorrow. We left around 9pm, Deming and I were both going together as you know mom invited him to dinner and I don't know why I could feel something good is going to happen.
