Chapter 5: Call from the devil
Yue Ling had dinner alone and went to her room to pack up the things she would take to her new home in about two days. She wanted to take a few things and she got a few boxes for her stuff. Everything else the house needed was to be bought. She wasn't emotionally attached to her belongings and she planned come back home to visit her mother occasionally.
The next day Yu Shuyan was already preparing for Yue Ling's departure and had asked Aunt Xu to pack foodstuffs for Yue Ling. Her daughter couldn't take proper care of herself so she also ordered grocery delivery for Yue Ling in about two weeks after her moving in. Yue Ling took the packed food upon her mother's insistence and she left in a few hours to meet Yi Bingbing.
Yi Bingbing was excited to meet her cousin and she asked Yue Ling to have lunch with her.
The two ordered and Bingbing was initiating conversations from time to time and soon they were done.
Yue Ling's requirements as per the house were good security and accessibility. She would need to be closer to the hospital. Yue Ling wasn't going to be a regular doctor at her grandfather's hospital,she was a shareholder as per now.
The main reason was that she didn't want to attract attention. She didn't even want people to know she was a doctor.
Yue Ling looked around the luxury condominium Bingbing had brought her to. They had looked at three houses so far. Whenever she suggested they look again, Yi Bingbing brought her to an even luxurious one. This cousin of her was becoming more ridiculous.
Lu Apartments were no doubt the best in the country. Bingbing's mother had inherited it from her family and Bingbing owned shares too and worked with her mother.
Bingbing was currently convincing Yue Ling to take the apartment as a gift. Her cousin insisted she didn't want a condo and Bingbing felt that this apartment wasn't good enough. Yue Ling didn't know how to refute her cousin, Bingbing had lived a carefree life and such little things didn't matter to her. Yue Ling had been through alot in her past life that luxuries meant nothing to her.
Bingbing sighed as her cousin paid for the apartment with a little disappointment,she wanted the best for Yue Ling.
On the other hand Yue Ling was satisfied with it as it had three bedrooms. One was hers, the other was for her mother in case she visited and the one downstairs was meant for her experiments and work. She wanted dark colors for her bedroom and the rest of the house would mostly be white blended with grey. Other parts would have brown. The interior decor was handled by Bingbing who insisted that it was free.
A day had passed and Yue Ling was in her apartment. She had moved in not too long ago and was having a look at the house. It felt thrilling to own something on her own,it belonged to her.
She heard her phone ring and wondered who it was since the number was unknown.
She answered it and waited for the person to speak and immediately after she heard,"Hello."
She was so familiar with this voice,it was sweet and pleasant but it sickened her to the core. She was scared and feared if someone else remembered what happened in the past life. How did she get her number and did she know?all these questions flooded into her mind.
The lady calling noticed the silence and said,"It's your older sister Meilin."
This sentence brought her back to her senses. This was the one line her sister
always looked forward to saying.
She immediately hung up and
blacklisted her.
Yue Ling didn't have time for such people and started unpacking her clothes and arranging them into the closet. Yi Shuyan wanted to send a few servants to help so that one of them stays with her but she rejected.
She warmed the packed food and went to bed early due to exhaustion.
***Lin Family mansion***
"You're saying she hung up on you," Old lady Lin asked.
"Sister hung up, maybe her phone is faulty, she couldn't have hung up intentionally," Lin Meilin answered.
"Meilin,you are just kind, that girl is just like her mother, she's simply giving you no respect,"Lin Yaoha spoke furiously.
"Learn to speak conservatively, have you contacted Yue Ling ever since she left?"
What makes you worthy of respect? Old lady Lin refuted.
Deep down they all had different thoughts.
Wang Changli(Old lady Lin)was thinking of a way to get Yue Ling to come back. It was embarrassing for their family if she continued to live outside and even not show up on gatherings after all she was the only known daughter before. It shows how distant they were. She blamed Yi Shuyan deeply.
Lin Yaoha ( Yue Ling's aunt), she felt that if the mother daughter pair (Yue Ling and Yi Shuyan) weren't really sincere in their departure,they should have given up their shares in the hospital and other business.
Lin Meilin 's thoughts are certainly most dangerous.

Yue Ling didn't know about the other people's plans and she slept peacefully despite the new environment. She made breakfast and ate it all. She was going to meet with her eldest cousin, Yi Bingbing 's brother.
She met Yi Yiren at a hotel a few hours before lunch time.
He was five years older than her and had good looks. He was also sharp,steady and reliable. He would treat you just the way you treat him.
As per now he was in charge of the hospital as the eldest grandchild.
The Yi family had three children, Grandpa Yi 's children who also have children. The oldest, Bingbing's father had two children; Yiren and Bingbing. The second child was abroad and had one son and Yi Shuyan only had Yue Ling.
Grandpa Yi's grandchildren didn't have the passion for medicine except for Yue Ling. The elder preferred having his family run the heritage.
He had raised his children well and they raised theirs the same. They had all been through military training except for Yue Ling who was abroad. They didn't place themselves above others and it was unlikely to find out their background.
