Chapter 2: CHAPTER 1 FATHER TROUBLE
"Will you marry me?"
I couldn't control the laughter that comes out of mouth at how comical my friend looks. Right now my best friend is going through a phase, he wants to get married and he wants that wife to be me. I can't really believe him though, don't get me wrong it's not like I don't like him after all we are friends but I don't like him sexually at all
Ew, we grew up together he's practically my brother but since I like to tease him about it because this is not his first time.
'OK, first you go on your knees and beg and I will say NO, I can't be your wife because you are my best friend. I told him sincerely.
'I know what your thinking, I will make it work ,i say OK as I grimace, he never sees sense.
'You are the silliest, because our parents are friends doesn't mean we would be anything more than friends' he looks knowing l won't change my mind as he physically gives up the marriage parade.
'So how is business?, hope it isn't too stressful, I asked
He smiled at me shaking his head,' No, Bella it's OK nothing I can't take'.
My phone beeped, so I got distracted a bit by my messages, smiling at my friend's message, she's so cute.
'Bella, Bella' he called.
'What' I answered
'You know dad wants to talk to you',
Pretending I don't know he's talking about my dad. I love playing this game with him.
'What does your dad want, what did you do wrong this time?
' your dad silly'
He knows exactly why i play this dumb game most time, it's because I always wish for him to drop the topic but he never does. Conceited bastard, I muttered to my self.
I stood up ready to go, 'I'll leave the state entirely like I did before if you don't drop this, I want nothing to do with that bastard OK'.
I was by the door but before I walked out I added, 'I only came back here because of my mum and maybe you, don't push it'.
Our time together always end like this, it's a surprise I still try though the real reason I see him is because he gets to tell me how my mom is doing since I can't go back to my father's house. I take it off my mind since I have work.

'Mirabel, I think something is up with Simon, he seems easily distracted lately' my smile fades as I heard Clara's worry I know she is in love with Simon and she won't stop worrying about him, I just wish I can help them both but my love life is dead or lets just say non-existent.
'It would be OK, I try to assure her although am not supposed to interfere in such matters since its between her and Simon but I'll try my best to make their relationship work. I love seeing my friend happy.
My ringing phone startled me, I checked the caller and frowned, my dad never calls, OK I have to be more specific, he doesn't call me until he needs something. I ignore it I don't have time for him or his attitude. I left my phone to work, I work at a small restaurant that's where I met Clara a year ago and since then we've been friends.
'Bella your dad's calling you, should I pick it up?
'No' I shouted
Clara walked up to me, 'common, this man is still your father you know'
I sighted as I said 'yes and he wants me dead'
'No he doesn't'
'yes he does'
'He loves you'
'By almost killing me'
'you miss understand him'
'I give up, you are impossible'
I walked off as I went to take orders and cleared the used tables.
As I got back to work I totally forgot about my father and every other worry. I need to work a lot more, I need money, and I need it fast. It was late and I said my goodbye and started walking home.
I got home in record tome , my phone started ringing again and thank God it was not my father.
'Hello mum'
'Why didn't you pick up your fathers call'
I sighted, ' mom I was at work and busy so mom do you need anything?
' I need you to listen to your father OK'
'OK mum', she never see reason it's like he's drugged her or something.
'please, go and see him, I'll be happy if you go and my dear I'll use my drugs regularly.
' Mom, am sorry to disappoint but I can't go, I've got school and work'. I told her hoping it will change her mind since she's not well and needs rest but she said something that totally shocked me, 'Your dad told me to tell you that if you did not come to his office tomorrow that he will stop me from going out of the house, and darling I'll go crazy without my little walks'.
That bastard, I muttered under my breathe, 'Mom, he's mad, trust me you, she interrupted me as I was talking.
' Baby, I have to go 'then she cut the call. My father will regret doing this I promised myself.

I know I said I won't go to fancy office because I have no choice, my mum literally commanded me to come here and he has kept me waiting.
The most annoying part is he knows I can't leave because my mom asked me to come here then threatened me; How outrageous is that ?.
So here am I sitting down against my wish.
My dad entered smiling to himself,
'I thought you would have gone' he said smiling at me like am wearing a dress that says stupid me.
'You have no right manipulating my mum like that, she's your wife for crying out loud, I scoff knowing he has no guilty conscience. He is ruled by his lust for money.
' Why do you want me here, I have a place to be, I'm beginning to burn staying in your presence is bad for my health. I don't plan to be ashes.
He ignores me after a while he decided to speak up,
'The family business is falling and you mom doesn't want me to sell our properties'
'So'
'I want you to marry my friends son'
'What, I shouted, how will it help your business. He looked at me like I have lost my mind really,
He sights, 'he Is rich and he agreed to give me money if you marry his son'
'So you want to sell me, imprisoning mom after you took all her inheritance is not enough...'
'HOW DARE YOU’, he yelled
'I'm not your daughter, so you have no right to ask me anything' .I said as I walked out. I have this suspicion that Abel is his friend's son.
