Chapter 2: Chapter 2 - Escaping Helgen with the Boys - Part 1

(Ralof): Hey, you. You're finally awake. You were trying to cross the border, right? Walked right into that Imperial ambush, same as us, and that thief over there.

(Nero/???): ""What?"" The guy I assumed to be the dragonborn and I asked in sync, not knowing which one of us was he talking to.

(???): Damn you Stormcloaks. Skyrim was fine until you came along. Empire was nice and lazy. If they hadn't been looking for you, I could've stolen that horse and been half way to Hammerfell. You two guys, you and me, we shouldn't be here. It's these Stormcloaks the Empire wants.

(Nero/???):""...""

(Ralof): We're all brothers and sisters in binds now, thief.

(Driver): Shut up back there!

I thought I would be used to these line of dialogues after hearing it so many time, but boy is it awkward being here while these 2 are talking. We kept on going with a moment of silence until the so called thief, whose name I know from the game, started talking.

(Lokir): And what's wrong with him?

(Ralof): Watch your tongue! You're speaking to Ulfric Stormcloak, the true High King.

(Lokir): Ulfric? The Jarl of Windhelm? You're the leader of the rebellion. But if they captured you… Oh gods, where are they taking us?

(Ralof): I don't know where we're going, but Sovngarde awaits.

(Lokir): No, this can't be happening. This isn't happening.

(Ralof): Hey, what village are you from, horse thief?

(Lokir): Why do you care?

(Ralof): A Nord's last thoughts should be of home.

(Lokir): Rorikstead. I'm…I'm from Rorikstead.

There was silence again until we started approaching a fort with stone walls. We could see some people wearing the same outfit as our driver in and outside of the walls. There was also a man with adorned armor that seemed to be of a higher ranking than the common soldiers guarding the entrance, the highest ranking we've seen until now, talking to some people of waht appeared to be elf heritage and I recognized to be the Thalmor.

(Soldier): General Tullius, sir! The headsman is waiting!

(General Tullius): Good. Let's get this over with.

(Lokir): Shor, Mara, Dibella, Kynareth, Akatosh. Divines, please help me.

(Ralof): Look at him, General Tullius the Military Governor. And it looks like the Thalmor are with him. Damn elves. I bet they had something to do with this. This is Helgen. I used to be sweet on a girl from here. Wonder if Vilod is still making that mead with juniper berries mixed in. Funny…when I was a boy, Imperial walls and towers used to make me feel so safe.

We approached a wall and the carriages that were traveling alongside us began to stop.

(Lokir): "W-Why are we stopping?"

(Ralof): "What do you think? End of the line. Let's go, we shouldn't keep the gods waiting."

After that we began to go down the carriage and a soldier that was beside a woman of a higher ranking began listing the name of some people and sending them towards the execution place.( I won't have Lokir killed in Helgen as I want to make some sort of party to help both Nero and the dragonborn in the beginning.)

When the list ended only me and the dragonborn remained. We looked at each other without knowing what to do.

(Hadvar): "Hm...? Hey, you two. Step forward. What're your names?" The man named Hadvar asked us.

(Nero): I'm Nero.

(Abjorn): My name's Abjorn. (Canon dragonborn doesn't have a default name so I just searched for ancient nord names and picked that one)

(Hadvar): "That's weird. What should we do captain? These 2 aren't on the list."

(Imperial Captain): "We have to execute every one of the prisoners on the carriages, General Tullius's orders... wait, why do you have that rag around your arm?"

(Nero): 'Fuck. Why did I not realize how I'm the only one with what seems to be an injury? That's totally sus.' "I got my entire arm burnt a month ago when a forest fire broke into my house while I was asleep."

(Hadvar/Captain/Abjorn): """.....""" At that moment the three of them were thinking the same 'HOW THE HELL DID YOU NOT WOKE UP IF YOUR ARM WAS BURNING?!?!'

(Captain): "Whatever, just go with the others and wait for your turn." 'These oddballs are going to give me a headache'

We went near Ralof and saw the General we saw before with some kind of priest and an executioner near a rack that had a two-handed execution axe, specially made for beheading people. After Tullius began talking we heard something akin to a roar in the distance.

(Totally disposable background character): "what was that?"

(Tullius): It's nothing, continue.

After that the priest began praying something just to be interrupted by a stormcloak soldier that apparently was i a hurry to die 'If that idiot didn't say anything he could have lived long enough for Alduin to attack and get out of here, but I guess you wouldn't be expecting a dragon to save your ass from an imperial execution.'

After the guy was dead we heard that noise again, but the imperials didn't seem to mind and called for Abjorn to go to the rack.

I prepared myself for the moment that Alduin appears, I wanted to see what he looks like now that I'm actually living in this world, but as much as I wanted to admire everything that happened I will need to run when everything is in chaos.

When the Executioner raised his axe I looked at the top of the tower and waited... but nothing came. Then I looked back and saw Abjorn without his head, and my brain went haywire.

"...."

(Tullius):"*clap* *clap* That's done. Next one!!"

"...." 'Wha... How... Did I just fucked up Skyrim or something?'

.

.

.

.

(Just kidding. Now, going back to what really happened)

When the executioner raised his axe, I looked at the tower and saw Alduin approaching and landing on top of it.

(Totally disposable background character 2): "WHAT IS THAT?!?!?!"

(Totally disposable background character 3): "DRAGON!!!"

Alduin looked down on us and shouted. We saw some kind of force coming against us, I managed to retreat back a little but it still reached me. The most unfortunate ones were turned into meat paste when the shout crushed them against the ground.

I saw Lokir run in Abjorn's direction to help him up along with Ralof. I found it weird that someone like him would help others in this kind of situation, but I guess he just wants to have some sort of back-up to ensure his escape or something.

Pushing those thoughts aside I began running with them towards one of the watchtowers. When we entered we saw some people were already in there including Ulfric.

(Ralof): "Jarl Ulfric! It's good to see you're fine"

(Ulfric): "Ralof, I'm glad to see you too. And who're these two?"

(Nero): "My name's Nero, by the way would someone be kind enough to cut the ropes that are tying my hands? I don't think I'll be able to do much otherwise."

(Ralof): "You're right. Come here, I'll help you."

While Ralof helped me cut of the ropes, Lokir introduced himself to Ulfric.

(Lokir): "Well, now that we're free and all of that shit. What should we do? There's still a dragon outside y'know."

(Ulfric): "For now I suggest you all go up those stairs and see if you can somehow manage to see a path that you can use. I'll stay here and look for another direction we can go to."

(Nero): "Alright, then how many are we going?"

(Abjorn): "Count me in."

(Lokir): "I'll tag along too, better than staying alone in this shit hole."

(Ralof): "I guess I'll go with you lot. Let's see if we can find something of use along the way."

We climbed up the stairs until we found the guy clearing up rubble. I stopped and told them to stay close to the wall. The guy looked at us as if we wanted to slack off, bur then Alduin broke trough the tower and breathed fire on the poor guy.

We peeked at the new window/hole of the tower and saw a burnt house. Ralof proposed that we jump to it and we could then keep going, to which all of us agreed. Me, Lokir and Ralof mitigated the fall in some way like rolling on the floor, bur Abjorn fell rather heavily and made us wonder if he broke something. Surprisingly or not, he walked it off as nothing. We searched for things that could prove useful but we only found empty mead and beer bottles, burnt clothes and a few septims scattered around the floor.

When we came out we saw Hadvar with a man and a kid. He mocked us for running away like cowards but then he saw how Alduin landed near us and burned a man alive. He proceeded to give us a speech about how we needed to cooperate to come out alive.

We followed him because we had no qualms against his reason, even though he kept annoying us as we coursed Helgen, avoiding people and dragon alike. We came to the entrance of a tower that Hadvar said was connected to the dungeons and resting place of the soldiers. We entered and, finally, we relaxed a little. Though the peaceful atmosphere was broken by Hadvar once again.

(Hadvar): "I must say, wasn't expecting to see the oddball and his group of friends were still alive." He said while looking at me.

(Nero): "Oddball?" Everyone of us was at the limit of annoyed by this guy.

(Hadvar): "Well what else are you if not that, you're siding with the stormcloacks, you're trying to hide your arm, you look like an elf and a human at the same time. OH, and we can forget that you're hanging around with a bunch of lo-*CRACK*"

He couldn't finish his sentence as I punched him with devil bringer in the back. He went off flying and crushed against one of the walls. We could see that his spine was deformed and his chest was pierced by some of his ribs.

(Lokir/Abjorn/Ralof)"""..."""

(Nero): 'HOLY FUCK! I wasn't expecting him to die like that!' After realizing I killed a human I was expecting to feel horribly bad about myself, but for better or for worse, nothing came to me. 'Is this some kind of adjustment made by that ROB or something?'

While I was thinking that, I heard a sound in my head and a dark purple screen-like-thing appeared in front of me.
