Chapter 4: Chapter 4(A whole new world)

"Just look at her." A voice whispered.

"She's so beautiful. Even in her sleep." Another whispered.

"Sshhh… keep your voice down. You will wake her." The first voice hissed.

"My voice is down besides aren't we supposed to wake her up? Isn't that the reason we came here?" The other asked.

The two voices began squabbling. For a second, Blaise's mind went blank and all she could here were the two voices.

Suddenly, images of the previous events flashed before her. The red moon, the Sherman, the whispers and screams, the scared man and finally her death.

Blaise woke up with a start.

Two identical girls standing next to her screamed in alarm. Blaise screamed in panic too.

"Bloody hell, Vivian you scared us." The little girl about twelve years old said.

"What…what...excuse me who are you?" Blaise asked.

The two girls exchanged weird glances.

"You lost your memory. Goodness, oh you can't remember us?" one asked.

Blaise frowned looking at them. They were dressed strangely. Almost old fashioned, Xavier would have said.

"Excuse me, am I supposed to know you?" Blaise asked.

"Cut it out Vivian, we know you are lying. Your memory is just fine. So you shouldn't be so odd around us. Vivian did you try to drown yourself?" the other one asked.

"What…what? Drown…"

"Then why are you stark naked in a bath tube." The first one asked.

Blaise glanced down to find her self in a bathtub totally naked.

She glanced around the dark room that had a single candle in place. She suddenly stepped out off the water and grabbed a towel from the golden trolley next to the tub.

She touched her belly and realized she wasn't bleeding.

But she died, she thought.

How come she was still alive?

Last night's event were so vivid in her mind. But she wasn't bleeding and she wasn't dead either.

Was it all a dream?

"Okay, fancy shanks, you are beginning to scare me now. Should we call Doctor Evans?" the first one walked towards her.

Blaise stumbled back.

"Doctor who? No…no maybe yes? Providing I was just stabbed and…and I thought I died and…and I heard someone call me and then there was…was nothing. Just a void and suddenly, your squabbling voices and now I'm here? Where am I? And who are you?" Blaise asked in a breath.

The two glanced at each other.

"Lili, she's not lying." The second girl told her sister.

"Lying? Why will I lie? And why are you two dressed like that? And why do you look the same?" Blaise asked.

"Okay calm down cuz, there is no need to panic. We will not harm you?" The little girl said slowly.

"You don't have to speak slowly, I understand you? And did you just call me…cuz?" Blaise furrowed her brow.

"Yes? We are your twin cousins Lilith and Luella. Don't you remember" Lilith said.

"What…what? Lilith? Luella? You're called Luella?" Blaise gaped at them.

Their blonde curls were braided the same style. They looked so similar. One could hardly see the difference. But Lilith had blue eyes and Luella's were green.

Her green eyes remembered of her grandmother.

"Luella? You have the same name as my Merma." Blaise said.

Luella furrowed her brow.

"What is a Merma?" Luella asked.

"Oh is it a fish?" Lilith asked.

"No…no it's the name I call grandmother by. It's not her actual name…"

"What are you talking about? We don't call granny, Merman? We call her Granny?" Luella said.

Lilith laughed.

"Merman? Like those fantasy creatures with human bodies and tails as feet." Lilith laughed.

Blaise furrowed her brows.

"Mermaids?" Blaise asked.

"That's what they are called?" Lilith asked.

Luella rolled her eyes.

"Okay cuz, how many fingers are my holding up." Luella raised her little fingers.

"Why are you holding up your fingers? She can see them, they are five fingers." Lilith said.

"I wasn't asking you Lilith and it called routine check up. That's what Doctor Evans showed her the first time she fell, remember?" Luella said.

"You remember that too? Thank goodness, I mean it's a miracle I didn't die. I mean that…that man he stabbed me and through me over the balustrade. And…and I…I fell and died and I woke up again… and I'm here with you and I have know idea who you are" Blaise said.

"Lu, I really think Vivian needs Doctor Evans, I'm going to call Fitz." Lilith walked towards the door.

"No…no Lilith don't. Do you know the trouble we will be in if mother finds out we were here?" Luella asked her.

"Not so much trouble than the one we are already in." Lilith said.

"I thought we decided to lie about Lord Hiddleton's coat?" Luella whispered.

"No you lied and I just bobbed when mother asked if whatever you said was true." Lilith poked her shoulder.

Luella gasped.

"Did you just poke me?" Luella asked.

"I bloody did. What are you going to do about that? Huh?" Lilith poked her again.

"Oh you bloody poker, I am going to show you not to poke me ever again." Luella poked her back.

Blaise stood still watching the two as they quarreled.

They were just like Ember and Xavier.

Just younger, noisier and overly British.

Blaise sighed heavily as she headed towards the door.

"It was your fault Lord Hiddleton didn't…eh Vivian were are you going?" Lilith asked her.

"To find answers and far away from your squabbling." Blaise burst through the doors.

She stepped into a large room with several people walking up and down.

"There she is…oh my goodness, Vivian why are you half naked?" a woman dressed in a posh blue gown walked towards her.

She clapped her hands and all the servants strolling around exited the room.

The two girls stepped in next to Blaise and paused too.

The woman glanced at the twins sternly.

"It is Luella's fault. She woke cousin, Vivian up.' Lilith pointed at her twin sister.

"You bloody liar, she suggested we go see Vivian as she bathed in her tub." Luella pointed at Lilith.

"Mind your language young lady, a lady doesn't use such words. And Vivian, I warned you not to do these things yourself. The servants are around to do that. Goodness, you don't even look ready for your big day." The woman cupped her face.

"I'm sorry what are you talking about and who…"

"Aunt Isabel, Vivian doesn't remember anything. We should call Doctor Evans again." Luella said.

"Maybe it's because she tried to drown herself again?" Lilith said.

The woman furrowed her brows.

"Vivian, did you try to hurt yourself again?" The woman asked.

"What? Me? I…"

"We talked about this Vivian. Marrying Lord Valerian is the only way. Harming your self is not the solution." The woman told her.

Blaise furrowed her brow.

"You think I don't know that? There's nothing I can do to stop my marriage to that man. I know. But I died and…and I can't believe why I'm here? And who are you people? Oh God, I am so confused." Blaise sat on the bed and buried her face in her palms.

"Honey, have you been having those dreams again?" the woman touched her arm.

Blaise glanced up at her.

"How…how do you know about my dreams?" Blaise asked.

"Honey I'm …"

There was a knock on the door interrupting them.

"Who is it?" Luella responded.

"Luella what are you doing in there?" the door opened and a woman walked in.

"You?" Blaise muttered.

"Thank Goodness you are here, Freya." The woman next to Blaise stood up.

"I am sorry for barging in Aunt Isabel. I thought it was just Vivian here." Freya bowed.

"Oh, that's okay, please help Vivian dress up while I attend to a few preparations at the church." Isabel asked.

"Of course" Freya nodded.

Lady Isabel turned back to Blaise.

"We will talk more after the wedding. Alright, my child?" She kissed Blaise forehead.

"My child? You…"

"Fitz will be here soon with the royal seamstress. Don't keep long you two, people from all four kingdoms will be here in no time. And you two, don't cause any trouble and get dressed promptly." Lady Isabel told the twins before leaving.

Freya turned to the twins.

"So you naughty lasses were in here?" She chuckled.

"I am not naughty, its Luella fault." Lilith said.

"No it was not. Why do you always want me to take your faults?" Luella asked.

"No they aren't mine…"

"Okay, okay that's enough squabbling. For your information, mother has been searching for you two over two hours. So if you don't want to get into trouble, which I know you two are already in, I will advise you to use the back door and I swear on my little lily I will not tell mother I saw you two here bothering Vivian." Freya said.

"You swear?" Luella asked.

"On my little Lilly." Freya smiled.

"Which of your lilies?" Lilith asked.

"I doesn't matter, lets go." Luella pulled her twin towards the back door.

"Which Lily?" Lilith whispered.

"Ssshh I will tell you later." Luella whispered back.

They walked towards the book shelf in the left corner of the room.

Luella pulled a small blue book and the shelf shifted.

It showed a secret passage with many stairs.

The twins stepped through and closed it from behind.

"Oh, gets them every time." Freya chuckled.

She turned back to find a stunned expression on Blaise's face.

"Please don't tell me you didn't know that was there." Freya raised her eyebrow.

She slouched on the bed next to Blaise and groaned.

"Oh, I will bloody die again for a good night sleep." She muttered.

Freya glanced back at Blaise to find her gapping at her.

"Vivian, will you quit staring. It's unsettling." She said.

"You…you are the Sherman?" Blaise managed to say amid her astonishment.

"Sherman? Bloody no… I was thinking a Dracula look but a Sherman? Seriously, you think I would stoop that low?" Freya chuckled.

"What are talking about? It was you? You showed me the cards and…and you told me about the blood moon and… and I died. And somehow magically came back to life in a strange place with strange people." Blaise said in a huff.

Freya furrowed her brows.

"Vivian, it's that dream again?" Freya asked.

"A dream? No…this wasn't a dream…like the others. This was real… you were a Sherman and…"

"Yes…yes I showed you three cards, Death, The lovers and the hanged man and I vanished and you are killed by that scarred man and you wake up. Yes Vivian, you've told me more times than I can count. But it's just a dream, honey." She touched Blaise's cheek.

"No it isn't." Blaise swatted her hands.

She stood up from the bed walked towards the mirror.

"Oh my god." Blaise gasped at her reflection.

"Vivian are you okay?" Freya stepped in behind her.

Blaise stared at herself. She was the same her but she felt and looked different. Her copper red hair was longer and tangled. Her emerald eyes was as vivid than ever. On her arm was a mark of a bird with wings of fire.

She knew this mark too well.

"What is this?" She turned towards Freya.

"Oh that…" Freya reached for her arm.

Blaise stepped back.

"Why are you been so jumpy? Its just me." Freya said with a frown.

"Just tell me what it is." Blaise said.

"It's the mark of the Phoenix. The Elda's worship it" Freya stepped closer to her.

Blaise stepped away from her hurriedly.

"To be frank, I don't like this part of you. It's me Freya. I'm not going to read your memories, we have a rule for that." Freya said.

"What…what do you mean read my memories?" Blaise asked.

"Now you are acting ludicrous, we've been best friends all our lives and you do not now that?" Freya frowned.

Blaise realized that's why she saw those flashes when the Sherman touched her. What did she even mean about them being best friends for years.

"Err…Freya…I...I'm sorry but I don't …"

"You don't need to explain yourself Vi. I understand. Things have changed ever since the fall." Freya touched her shoulder.

This time there were no flashes of memories when she touched her.

"What fall?" Blaise furrowed her brow.

Freya sighed.

"You fell from the balustrade on the third floor last spring. For a witch, you could have died but you didn't. Doctor Evans said it was a miracle." Freya said.

They both sat down on the bed.

"Your parents believe it wasn't an accident but the doing of…"

"The Balcoins." Blaise muttered.

"Yes." Freya nodded.

Blaise bit her lower lips in deep thought.

"I wish I could tell you everything Vi, but there isn't time. Maybe not now, we have to get you ready. It starts in two hours." Freya pulled out her pocket watch from her pocket.

"What starts?" Blaise asked.

Freya walked towards a huge closet and opened it.

"Please don't tell me you forgot about that too. Because if you did that will be a disaster." Freya chuckled.

She turned around with the largest underwear Blaise had ever seen.

Freya furrowed her brows.

"You don't remember?" Freya asked.

"Do I look like I do?" Blaise asked in turn.

"Today is your wedding Vivian. The royal seamstress will be here in no time. We have to get you ready. I better go get Fitz. I will be right back" Freya headed towards the door.

"Wait…what? My wedding? But…but that's in nine days." Blaise grabbed Freya's arm.

"No, it's today. Goodness Vivian you have really lost track of time. But don't worry I…"

"No, no, no what's today's date?" Blaise asked.

"The 19th of July." Freya said in an obvious tone.

"Yes, yes, that means yesterday was the 18th. And the day before was the 17th of July 2020. I got back from New York to Eldovania on the 18th with gives me eight days more to the wedding." Blaise said.

"What are you talking about? You are in Eldovania alright but never have I heard of New York." Freya asked.

"What you haven't… wait…wait." Blaise for the first time took in her clothing.

She realized the woman from earlier was dressed the same way. So were the little twins from earlier.

"Oh my God…" Blaise walked towards the large window and opened it.

She stared at immense greenery outside. Several people walking around attending to chores. Pushing charts and riding carriages. They were dressed in differently.

"Carriages? What…what year is this?" Blaise asked in confusion.

"1789… Vivian is there something you are not…"

"1789!"Blaise exclaimed.

"Now you are beginning to scare me." Freya said worriedly.

Blaise headed towards the closest. She scrambled through looking for some to wear.

"How can this be? It was 2020 just yesterday. Where are we? What is my name?" Blaise burst out in panic.

"Vivian, Vivian, calm down." Freya pulled her into a hug.

"I…I'm so confused." Blaise whispered.

"Calm down, love. Its okay, that's why I'm here." Freya patted her head.

Blaise pulled back to look at her.

"Then give me answers, how did I end up here. I died, yet I woke up and to find out I'm in this whole new place and time." Blaise buried her face in her palms.

Freya sat back observing her.

"You are Princess Vivian Edmonton. You are a pure blood witch. Your parents are Lord Devon Edmonton and Lady Isabel Edmonton. You were born and raised here in Eldovania. You turned 21 last spring. I don't know does that help?" Freya asked.

"Oh my god I can't believe this…"

There was a sudden knock on the door.

"Who is it?" Freya responded.

"Lady Freya, the royal seamstress is here. The Princess is to make an appearance in an hour." The royal butler, Fitz said.

Freya turned back to Blaise.

"Vivian, I can not fully understand what you are going through right now. But all I know is, if you are here, it's for a reason." Freya told her.

Blaise nodded.

"Promise me you won't leave my side." Blaise took her hands.

Freya smiled.

"When have I ever left your side?" She hugged her.

There was another knock on the door.

"You ready?" Freya asked.

"No." Blaise muttered.

Two hours later…

Blaise stared outside the window. She sat in the most beautiful white and gold wedding gown. It was as tight and heavy than anything she'd ever worn. Her hair was braided in a chignon and tucked with several golden pins. Her golden crown was set on her with her veil on her face.

She looked down at the bouquet in her hands. How in the world did she end up here? She was trapped in the past. There was no where to run. She was lost in this world of new faces.

But one thing was certain, in her previous life, she was to marry the Lord of Valeria. She was marrying a man with the same name in this time too.

She remembered her grandmother telling her about him. And from what she'd recently learnt from Freya, it seemed to be the same person.

Lord Keith Leon Solaris Valerian he was called. The last living tribrid. He was a respected and feared everywhere in the four kingdoms. He ruled over the three kingdoms, Valeria, Theroden and Ronovia. He was wealthy, powerful, arrogant and had a very bad temper.

This drastic change may have scared her but nothing scared her more than this man. A man she hadn't even met.

"Vivian." She looked up to find a pair of green eyes staring at her.

He had the same eyes as her father's. Lord Devon Edmonton was her father in this time.

She could laugh right now for she had two biological fathers.

But nothing seemed funny at all. All she felt was terror and confusion.

Lord Devon raised her veil to look at her.

"Please remind me why I have to marry that man again?" Blaise asked.

Lord Devon sighed.

"This is for the sake of Eldovania, my child." He said.

Blaise chuckled.

"For the sake of Eldovania." She mumbled.

Her father raised her chin to find tears in her eyes.

"Vivian…"

"I'm scared." She blurted.

He pulled her into his arms and cooed her.

She felt a strange sense of comfort in his arms.

"Be strong Vivian. Promise me you will survive no matter what happens." Lord Devon said.

"I don't know." She replied.

"You do my child. You do." He urged her.

The carriage stopped and Blaise's tummy did a funny turn.

She wasn't used to this new means of transport. In truth, she wasn't used to anything around her.

"We are here." Her father told her.

She pulled down her veil and took in a deep breath.

Two coach men opened the doors. There was a long red carpet laid down towards the entrance of the church. Several people stood out waiting for their arrival.

"My lady" Her father gave her a hand.

She stepped out of the gold gilded carriage to find a large church.

She glanced through the crowd of people dressed in suits and gowns.

The 18th century was indeed colorful, she thought.

"Shall we?" Lord Devon asked.

She nodded and took his arm.

The bride procession song began to play immediately when they stepped into the large church.

The crowd rose to their feet and all eyes turned towards them.

Blaise took in quick breath to calm her nerves. She looked towards the altar. There was an old man in a long white robe standing there.

She imagined that as the priest. Her eyes leaped to the left side to find a tall blond man. He stood with his back turned to her. His long blond hair was tied with a black ribbon. He was dressed in a black men's suit with golden embroidery. He wore black gloves and held both hands behind him.

Blaise finally reached the altar and her father let go of her.

She watched as he joined her mother, Lady Isabel on the front row. Her eyes fell on Freya, who gave a her a little nod.

The crowd finally took their seats and the priest began.

"We are here today to witness the holy…"

"Get to it Bernard, I don't have all day." A cold voice interrupted him.

"Yes…yes my Lord." The priest replied.

Blaise stood close to him yet glanced down at his shoes. She didn't dare to look at his face.

Her heart raced loudly at his voice. It was cold and authoritative.

"Please bring forth the rings." The priest said.

A blond teenage boy brought forth a black box bearing two rings.

They were both wrought in infinity. One was wrought with pure gold. The other was also wrought in gold but adorned with diamonds.

"Do you, Lord Keith Leon Solaris Valerian, take this woman as your wife?" the priest asked.

"Yes, I do." He replied boldly.

She flinched when he touched her hand to place the ring on her finger.

"And do you, Lady Vivian Rebecca Edmonton, take this man as your husband?" the priest asked her.

For an instance, all she could think of was running out and never looking back.

But where was she going to go?

She wasn't familiar to anything in this world. It was a whole new world to her.

"Lady Vivian, do you take this man as your…"

"Yes I do." She said abruptly.

She took the ring and reached for his hand.

He pulled off his glove and she touched his cold hand.

She trembled as she slowly placed the ring on his finger and let go of him.

"With the power invested in me, I pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss your bride my Lord." The priest said.

Blaise trembled as he reached for the hem of her veil. He pulled off her veil and raised her chin with his gloved hand.

Blaise finally looked upon him to find his face expressionless. His golden eyes stared down at her with no sentiment. His eyes were the same pair of eyes in her dreams. The eyes to the face she had never beheld.

For a second, she thought he would kiss her. Instead, he whispered in her ear and stepped back.

"Prepare the royal carriage, we leave immediately." He told a man behind him.

He stepped down the altar and walked towards the entrance.

The crowd stood up as he walked away. He halted in his steps and looked back at her.

"Are you coming, Lady Valerian?" he asked.

Blaise stood at the altar confused. She looked in her parents direction. Her mother and father nodded, signaling her to go.

She dropped the bouquet and grabbed the hem of her dress and followed him.

The crowd began to applaud as they walked out and right into a golden carriage.

The carriage moved immediately when the doors closed.

Blaise looked back to find her parents waving at her. She barely knew them, but she'd give anything to be with them at the moment.

She turned back to look at her newly wedded husband. He sat on the left side staring outside the window.

"Why the hurry?" she asked.

He slowly turned towards her with a frown.

"A Valerian's time is priceless than his gold. And I owe you no explanation." He said in a cold tone.

Blaise sat back in silence. The voice of the Sherman rang in her head.

A marriage of suffering and pain, she thought.

She looked back at him and she feared the worst was to come.
