Chapter 2: Color Blind

A figure of a young man with broken bones, with severe bleeding injuries and with a dying spark of life.
The light of his red eyes seemingly dulled down, as the person who laid there was struggling not to go to sleep.
The deepest sleep he would ever have in his entire life.
Motionlessly laying there the silence hummed peacefully into his ears, just a few minutes ago the adrenaline rush of power erupted out like a monster out of its slumber.
Was it really him who fought and mercilessly turned the one sided slaughter for his life and won like a God in the battle field? Yet all that was just for a moment… A single moment of glory, just for a short second then the reaper came to hunt for his soul.
'Guess that's the price for using such catastrophic powers.'
Spurt* the injuries were too many, his ruptured organs initiated to shut down.
Was it the end…?
What can humans do in the present?
Can humans change the past?
Can humans predict the future?
The past me wouldn't ask these questions. Why would I, when I lived a semi-perfect life…

I was a third year college student at Blue High, a prestigious high school where prodigies attend. I guess I lived a normal life, normal grades but a perfect partner.
It was until one day that all changed…

Was it called the gate of love? Yes, that's what they called it…the path made of Sakura trees.
They used to happily toss pink petals, feasting and dignifying the path of bricks which lead to an opening far in the distance, that opening, I knew both me and my significant other would eventually reach.
Her name was Athena Ray, Strings of black, smooth and long hair fluttered with the wind, there were also some blended strings of blue, still it perfectly matched with her pair of pink eyes.
It was a sight to behold and a time to steal quite a few glances at her.
When she slightly fixed her hair, she revealed a pale ear.
I could still feel her exquisite presence as she walked like a queen.
But was that scene reality or was it just me? That scene is fading due to the current situation, and there is nothing I could do about it.
He-He* now I'm here in the middle of nowhere- am I – going to die Drip* Drip* drizzle in the middle of nowhere.
Was she really happy, worried or sad, maybe disappointed. Her expression wasn't what it was when I first met her, there was no smile to behold, no life on her face. Just like me right now with a lifeless body.
I remember the sound.
Ding*
I remember her words.
"Uggg…Honey I need to go…I'm really sorry but it's important."
I remember what I said as I scratched my head.
"I-It's ok baby I understand… It must be something very important."
I remember feeling something soft on my chest while I was being embraced by her, I also remember what she said when she left.
"Bye baby, see you later."
The moment I snapped out of my daze was when I could only see her fading attractive figure slowly being covered by petals… W-why is everything turning into blood? N-No-Nooooo. As the rain fell stronger blood flowed down like a river and formed a strange pattern around Zafiel ('Crowned God's Signature Mark when a God Dies in battle'), Zafiel's pain seemed endless until darkness filled his sight.
Present: 07/02/2036
Zafiel found himself standing alone, a powerful wind gushed from the entrance of the love gate. It was until then he started to walk out of the garden of trees into the bustling streets, when he stopped at a traffic light, he took out his smart phone to examine the time.
"2:00pm, well that was disappointing… for our last stop… I guess I would be going alone." Zafiel sighed in disappointment looking to the north where there settled a mountain.

Top of Mount Sun Set
The fragrance of flowers assaulted the air, emerald grass, colored flowers and a few white flocks of birds enriched the encompassed area, a setting utterly taken out from a romance novel.
It was completely breathtaking…
On the edge of the mountain's cliff, Zafiel took a glance at the city of Atlas and at the clear blue sky.
"Hmmm…"
He wanted to engrave the scene in his mind, a scene with her…
But suddenly darkness began to embrace the city of atlas, rain started to pore from a distance and the wind began to blow even stronger.
When the waves of dark clouds traveled from the city to where Zafiel was, it hid the sun, murdering the glistening sun rays.
The ambient wasn't lovely either as it uttered of the upcoming perilous events.
By now the rain had slightly deteriorated and his glasses turned humid while his hair was being gently softened by the falling droplets of crystal blue water.
Following the dark clouds pace of movement…
Zafiel stretched his arms on his side and turned to settle at a stunning view of the Mysterious Dark Sea...
As far as the eye could see, rays of light dwindled down and the sea was quickly overshadowed by the pitch black clouds, the sea now only screamed mystery.
It was like time suddenly stopped and the wind gently kissed his face, his black silk hair was riding the wind in harmony, his heart's thumping steadily decreased, his red eyes seemed to glow dull gray and a glimpse of sadness might have been seen, but in fact there were no emotions in them.
Boom!
The ground madly shook and the sky turned into a tornado of lighting, all around electricity flowed through the skies like various currents of river.
Zzzzz!
"Wha-What's that…"
There were no clouds, just blue lightning electrifying the surroundings, in the center of the lightning tornado, a black circle that seemed like a black hole.
Is this some expe…
Before Zafiel could finish his track of thought.
Small stones began to float, the pitch black color widened as what covered the entire sky was an enormous stone slowly emerging from the hole, it no longer looked like a sky of plain black but a void of fire and red lightning…
A portal… that doesn't exist…
"A... an asteroid…" Zafiel gasped in shock.
Crack!
Suddenly a golden pillar of light departed from the asteroid.
It seemed like a falling star bulleting straight at Zafiel, the light emitting from this bulleting star created a scene of Hope.
Like a parasite attracted to its host, the golden pillar was a needle liquid shaped gem and it struck into Zafiel's heart.
Boom!

Before the liquid gem struck him, he levitated towards it, the liquid gem turned into one drop of crimson, suddenly a celestial blue and sinistrous black light originated from Zafiel's body.
"D... diz-dizzy…
I can't see anything, my sight is blurry…what's happening?" Zafiel's eyes were glowing pure white and black; one on each eye...
Losing consciousness Zafiel was on the very edge of the mountain's cliff.
I'm falling… .
While Zafiel fell the asteroid was so great that it covered the mountain, covered the ocean and covered the city, as it fell it primarily impacted on the mountain, destroying the scenery, however, the mountain fought back and it managed to slightly crack the magnificent rock, fortunately after creating an apocalyptic scene, it disappeared as a cloud of kaleidoscopic gas …
As Zafiel fell down the mountain's cliff, the wind furiously gushed past his entire body.
Due to the shockwave the stable cliff edges now tossed down stones.
As Zafiel reached his destination he could only think of her… Athena Ray
It seemed like an eternity, however, falling from a 120-100-meter cliff the flight could have only lasted for at most 7 seconds.
'Funny, how tables turned out to be so tragic for me.' Zafiel thought to himself as he closed his eyes and revealed a faint smile, embracing his demise like a long last friend.
Splat!

1 min before Zafiel woke in the sea…
Boom…! Boom....! Boom...!
It wasn't only one asteroid impact, but many across the world…
The asteroid that impacted the mountain generated a powerful shock wave, when the asteroid cracked many gems of different colors and shapes flew out towards city's, town's and as far as villages, along a cloud of crimson smoke that hid the gems while filling the entire atmosphere; it swiftly spread across the continent.
In the city of Atlas filled with tall and strong modern buildings, technology filled some of this building, especially televisions and 3D billboards.
Cough! Cough! Cough!
"What's this!"
"What's happening?"
People initiated to panic even further as they seemed to be attacked by bizarre events...
A few people fell when a bullet like gem hit different sections of their body while others remained standing breathing the strange gas.
"What is this… What's happening?… are we going to die!"
"Where dead!"
Bzzz…Bzzz..Bzzz
As the citizens started to despair, one by one the public televisions started to operate, showing a live broadcast, a calm young woman initiated to communicate to the public…
"Citizens of Atlas please do not panic, scientists around the world have encountered a similar kind of substance, rather than a curse the particles flowing through the air is a gift to humanity…"
The live broadcast continued interviewing scientists and top professors...

1min later, gray stones and a rather handsome boy without his eyeglasses; flowed deeper into the bottomless pit, however, it was like the sea had its own mind, forcibly devouring stones except Zafiel.
He somehow survived the fall, slowly blinking he could only see the vibrant surface of the sea.
As Zafiel unhurriedly sank, he stretches a single hand towards zilch as if stating towards the heavens
'Aid me'
Unfortunately, soon after darkness filled his sight and he continuously fell down the abyss. Once he closed his eyes fragments of his body disappeared like shattered glass floating away then disappearing.
