Chapter 6: The Beginning of Death: Chapter 6
After Jack made it back to the safe room he went to the corner and closed his eyes, but he did not fall asleep since he couldn't trust anyone in the tutorial as of yet.
Jack, while he had his eyes closed, was wondering if he could still summon the monster from the previous floor. He wanted to see if he could have multiple summons apart from Bellivir since if he could it would benefit him greatly as he would not need to rely on others as much.
Jack 'If I begin to entrust my back to others there is also the chance that one of those people would stab me in the back so I would like to not have to rely on others.'
He wanted to feel what it was like to have friendships and love but he knew that the world was harsh and cruel. He knew that although he may trust them greatly they may be plotting behind his back. That was just how he was raised in this world. People leaving him to rot, leaving him for others, and leaving him for their own social gain.
Jack knew that all he could do was survive alone. Since that was all he knew.

[Hour of The Dead has Ended]
Jack was startled out of his thoughts by the message popping up so he opened his eyes and began to make his way out and towards the roulette machine located in the library.
Jack saw many people rushing around frantically to find more coins so that they could guarantee their safe spot in paradise. He ignored them and reached the library after around five minutes of walking.
Jack 'Well I will roll this once and then go and try to extract that monster's shadow'
Jack began inserting 300 coins and then after he put them all in he pulled the lever and the slots began to spin.
When they finished spinning a box popped out of the machine when he went to open it he felt something resisting his intention to open the box.
Jack 'What is this stupid box, why is it not opening?'
After struggling for around five minutes Jack felt that his attempts to open the box were futile so he decided he would save it for later and attempt to open the box in the future.
Jack also felt as if something was pulling him towards the box. Almost as if the thing that was inside the box was meant for him.
Jack 'Why do I get this weird feeling whenever I look at this box? I have no clue why it feels so tempting to open this box but it seems that I am not ready to open it currently.'
Jack put the box inside of his bag and then started to put in some more coins and after he pulled the lever and he got the Guide's note.
Jack 'Wonder what this is for guess I'll see later as it probably won't help me out much currently.'
After that he went to where he had previously finished off the monster.
After Jack arrived he thought about using the skill Shadow Extraction on the monster when a purple holographic screen appeared in front of him.
[Skill Needs Activation Word to Work]
Jack "Arise"
When Jack said that an almost invisible purple light flashed in his eyes.
When Jack thought it wasn't going to work he began shaking his head and was about to turn around and leave when he noticed a shadowy hand grabbing onto the edge of the shadow.
First it was the arms then the head and the rest of the monster's body soon emerged from what seemed to be the abyss in Jack's eyes. It was the same with Bellivir; it seemed as if they were returning from death. Jack also felt that an energy was leaving his body; he assumed it had something to do with his mana stat.
[Name Your Shadow Summon]
Jack 'Name, hm? Let's go with Hook since you got hooks on your hands.'
[Shadow Monster Hook]
After Jack told Hook to go back to his shadow with a thought he felt his phone vibrate. Pulling out his phone he saw,
[Door to the Roof has Opened]
Jack knew that more monsters would be heading his way so he quickly rushed up the stairs.
As Jack was running he heard the growling and the thuds of the monster's chasing him. Jack took a peek behind him and saw upwards of five monsters chasing after him. After seeing that he picked up his pace and saw the door to the roof ahead of him.
When he was close enough he dived towards the door and made it in where he saw Sam and as he heard the monsters getting closer the door abruptly shut.
Jack noticed the other people were all already on the roof. Jack felt wronged since they did not even communicate with him when they were going to open the door but he didn't let it show on his face as Sam began to talk.
Sam "Congratulations on passing the tutorial. Now Everyone pass me the 100 coin fee and you may be on your way to paradise."
Everyone frantically gave Sam their coins and headed through the portal and Jack finally handed his over.
Sam "I look forward to what you will do for paradise in the future."
As Jack heard Sam say that he stepped through the portal and showed up in a larger auditorium than the one in the school.
Jack also noticed that there was a large amount of people from different countries. He then quickly followed the rest of his group and sat down in a section that was pointed out by the woman that was with Sam at the beginning of the tutorial.
After the Large crowd of people were seated a blue holographic screen appeared in Jack's eyesight that said,
[You will Now Synchronize with the System]
It was accompanied by a short headache that Jack quickly recovered from.
After Jack recovered he heard various people all dressed in business suits saying countries and areas followed by either pass or fail.
After they finished listing out the multiple passers or failures he realized that he could understand what they were saying although they clearly looked like they were from different countries.
Jack inferred that the synchronization of the system with him allowed him to understand other languages. After coming to that realization he saw a woman with hair as red as fire and she had a long scar down her face. It made her look as if she had been through many battles.
Woman with red hair "Congratulations on passing the Tutorial and welcome to this hellish neutral zone! A place blessed by the seven gods paradise is a place where you can prove yourself. Accumulate 1000 survival points. Only by doing so will you be able to leave this neutral zone and move to paradise."
After she finished speaking a man of mexican descent yelled out
Mexican Man "Didn't you say you would send us straight to paradise as long as we pass the tutorial."
Woman with red hair "Sit down Burrito before I deal with you and those who brought you in."
She then went on to explain how paradise was like a warzone where you were never safe and a place where you had to kill your enemies to survive.
Jack already knew it would be exactly as she said since that was what he had always thought of the world as, a dog eat dog world.
Woman with red hair "Seeing as we are on the topic, it seems that there are some rewards that need to be presented. Stand up if your name is called.
Area 6 ThongChai. You have already qualified, I can send you to paradise now if you want."
ThongChai "I shall remain"
After he said that She threw a key at him.
Woman with red hair "Area 2 Jack Steyer.'
Jack 'it seems it is a wise decision to stay as it could affect my future growth greatly if I skip out on this neutral zone'
Jack "I will stay"
After that the woman with red hair threw a key with the number 4 at him and called out more names.
A man that looked like a mob boss named Hao Won was 3rd, Odelette was next, and a man that looked like a little rat named Seol last.
Odelette protested but she was proven wrong by the man named Seol who was announced to have gotten more than 7500 points.
Woman with red hair "Well what are you waiting for the countdown has started."
Jack 'Let's do this Bellivir and Hook.'

I had a little bit of free time to write so here is a new chapter. Adding hook to the family now. Wonder if he will be any good though? let me know if there is anything you want me to change or fix. Enjoy!
