Chapter 10: Chapter Pov Vailein
my 3rd opponent is a Lairon. Houndour is it's opponent
Lairon uses his energy to enhance it's defense as much as possible knowing it isn't fast enough to avoid Houndour. Houndour however starts off with a feint attack, causing it to appear behind Lairon. Lairon Lifts it hind legs and launches a backwards stomp targeting the chest area of Houndour. Houndour suffers from the hit mostly in it's ego which needed some curbing, this causes Houndour to take it seriously again and bites with a mouth full of flames on the raised legs of Lairon. Since Lairon is trapped Houndour changes his fire fang to a fire blast and blasts Lairon away for 5 meters painting Lairons back black. Lairon is weak against fire so it passes out.
My 4th opponent is a Drowzee. Pidgeotto is used.
Pidgeotto saw what happened to Houndour the previous round and curbs it's own ego too. Pidgeotto starts with a quick attack on Drowzee trying to make it miss. Drowzee easily focusses it's mind on Pidgeotto even behind itself, and with the aid of it's hands tries to hypnotize Pidgeotto. Pidgeotto however focuses it's mind accoding to my instructions and uses his flying energy to attack again it slashes the air and lands on Drowzee. Drowzee still trying to focus on hypnotizing Pidgeotto notices to late and gets struck critical in the face, passing out at the same time. Pidgeotto slowly falls asleep from the sky, luckily I manage to return it on time to it's poke-ball and release it again next to me. Houndour sees how close Pidgeotto was to losing and changes his attitude from a playful puppy to a predator.
My 5th opponent is Marshtomp. Houndour gets chosen.
Marshtomp uses water gun in short bursts to chase Houndour around the arena. Houndour not to be outdone uses embers to haunt Marshtomp, sadly for Houndour fire hardly harms Marshtomp. Wile Marshtomp is using his water to play with Houndour it starts to gather earth energy below it's feet, after releasing this energy it forms an earthquake. Houndour caused his own dark energy to explode beneeth it's feet launching it in the air. Marshtomp is so surprised that it forgets to listen to it's trainer and watches Houndour fly closer. Houndour redirected all it's available dark energy to it mouth and launches it as one big orb directly to Marshtomp. Marshtomp tries to avoid it but it was stunned to long and got hit. Even though the fire attacks of Houndour did little damage on it's own, all little bits help to knock Marshtomp out with a full powered Shadow ball.
my 6th opponent is Venomoth here Pidgeotto is blasted away so fast that we don't even want to remember.
Venomoth Used psybeam at the moment the referee announced the start. Pidgeotto underestimated it's opponent and got instantly knocked out. After all psybeam is meant to scramble up your brain itself causing almost no damage just feinting. It didn't even get any chance to use it's own moves.
I barely enter the top 8. and gain 5000 Poké and a egg voucher.
After the battle Mav, Sanne, Tammy and Hannah come to me and we start to chat about what we want to do later. Mav and Hannah want to challenge a Gym circuit just like me. Tammy wants to create shows and to do so they follow the coordinator route Basically getting ribbons for mini shows with her Pokemon. Sanne want to be a breeder and doctor.
Lets talk in detail about the coordinator job first. Throughout the year there are a total of 12 coordinator events, a coordinator travels between them. They are mostly held in secondary cities and there are a total of 12 levels in them. On the first level you use a single Pokemon to make a performance thats as beautiful as it can be. If you succeed to impress any of the 4 judges you get a ribbon, which gives you access to the second level. The second level is a competition of beauty and battle. It resembles our Pokemon games cause each Pokemon has a turn. You don't have to win your battle as long as you score more 'beauty' points you can win. Win a certain number of competitions and you get your second ribbon. A third ribbon is gained by combining 3 of your Pokemon into a show and impressing the judges again. Forth ribbon is again a competition but then with 3 Pokemon on each side, bonus points can be gained by combination moves of different Pokemon. 5th ribbon and up however is completely different. From this point onwards you have to set up a show, either alone or with other performers of your own choosing. This can be anything from magic show to a full on musical. Both Pokemon and trainers are allowed to be a part of it. The more impressive your shows the more ribbons you can gain. Basically you are trying to become a super star. If you manage to get 12 ribbons you are allowed to preform in national and international events. There are only about 100 people holding 12 ribbons at any time.
Now you must be asking Gym circuit whats new about that? Well it ain't. This world read about the Poke-world from ruins that appeared after all. This world however choses several people divided over the secondary cities to be the preliminaries for each gym. So if I want to gain the gym badge to prove I beat the rock gym I first have to defeat 4 people in 4 cities getting ¼ of the badge from each. Then go to the metropolis and defeat the leader, who then takes the 4 parts and with a special device melts them together. On the first 3 gym badges you have 5 vs 5 battles, please note that you are not allowed to use one Pokemon and Whip all five of the opponents Pokemon. It is literally 5 Pokemon vs 5 Pokemon. The second set of 3 gym badges are 6 vs 6 the third set of 3 gym badges is 7 vs 7 the forth set of 3 gym badges is 8 vs 8 the fifth set of 3 gym badges is 9 vs 9. after this there are 2 leaders who battle you 10 vs 10 and the final gym battles you in a winner takes all battle with 10 Pokemon. If you succeed in gaining all 18 badges you basically gain the rights for the national tournament. If you manage to come out in the top 32 you get the rights to challenge to 'top powers' in your country who each 5 years hold another tournament. The powerhouses of each country are generally below 30 years old. After that you basically are allowed to start your own town/city or take over a empty post in any megatropolis or secondary town.
A Pokemon doctor is just like a nurse Joy from the games, anime or manga. They are great healers and versatile in all forms of it. During the check-ups they are also the ones who decide if you get to keep your Pokemon license to be a trainer.

vailein I have a terrible naming sense so i am not going to use chapter titles. instead i give it the name of the one who is the I in that chapter.
Suggestions for people names are also welcome. I wont be naming Pokemon unless i use something like Houndour->Hound shorting a long name.
Since i write from a I perspective at all times that name rarely falls in a chapter.
