Chapter 71: Chapter Seventy
Inko woke Midoriya up for breakfast All Might cooked up. The green-haired boy was about to turn to you, but his mother told him not to wake you, for All Might wanted you to get as much rest as possible.
By the time you rolled out of bed in the late afternoon, Midoriya and Inko were long gone, having returned to their own home. You woke to warm up pancakes and a stern lecture from All Might about letting Midoriya sleep in your room. You brushed All Might's concerns away, you looked at Midoriya like he had the characteristics of a little puppy dog.
After All Might settled down you wandered back up to your room, where you heard your phone having a heart attack.
"Hello?" You yawned.
"Are you just awaking up!?" Mina's voice screeched through the phone offending your ear drum.
"No." You rubbed your tired face.
"I can hear it in your voice!"
"Mhm."
"Are you still in bed!?"
"No..." You pulled your blanket over your body.
"I am on my way over-!" Mina stated, "-you better be up and already showered!"
"But why?" You whined, feeling too warm to move.
"Because I am going to help you get you ready for your date-!" Mina called, "-Duh!"
"My what?" You sleepily replied.
"Your date!?" Mina repeated, "With Bakugo that is in two hours!"
"Mm." You hummed; the phone line went still as she waited for the realization to hit you. "Wait!?" You snapped up, "Today is Saturday!?"
"It has been all day long." Mina replied. "Shower, up, now!" She called before hanging up. After rubbing your eyes, you stumbled to the bathroom hoping for a shower which did help stir you awake.
"Oh, hello Mina-" All Might watched the puffy haired girl walk past him. "-what are-?"
"Hello Mr. Toshi!" Mina waved as she hopped up the stairs quickly finding your bedroom. "Good!" She grinned seeing the damp hair.
"It's so early." You whined.
"It is three in the afternoon." Mina stated, "Your just tired because your body is trying to overwork itself to heal your leg."
"My leg is fine." You pouted sitting on your bed as Mina got to work on your hair and makeup. After blow drying it, she threw some beach waves through the strands of your hair. Mina smiled watching you laugh at one of her jokes as she did your make-up, teaching you tricks and tips on how to do this on your own.
"Wow." Mina breathed, watching you stand before her all dressed and ready for your first date. "You look amazing!"
"Thanks Mina." You flashed a smile, "I don't know what I would do without you."
"Look ridiculous-" Mina went to joke but was interrupted by the doorbell. "-he is early!?"
"Yeah." You replied, seeing his message running across your screen, letting you know he was here.
"Alright!" Mina bounced on her feet. "Are you ready!?"
"I-I guess so?" You muttered, "What do I even do on-"
"Just be yourself!"
"I don't know how to do that!"
"Yes, you do-" Mina waved, "-you do it all the time without even knowing!"
You and Mina walked downstairs, seeing a confused All Might looking at Bakugo who stood in the doorway, dressed up with flowers in his hand.
"Aw!" Mina breathed holding her hands to your chest seeing the flowers for you, she took a seat on the stairs. You walked over to him, he blushed holding them out for you to take. You wrapped your hand around the cool bouquet of colored flowers, staring at them.
"Uh-?" All Might was confused.
"Do you not like them!?" Bakugo snapped seeing the puzzled look on your face.
"I never had flowers before." You answered, staring at the soft petals.
"What's...going on here?" All Might wondered, "(y/n) you look lovely where are you going all dressed up?"
"I don't know." You shrugged, walking to the kitchen knowing flowers need water.
"Huh?" All Might blinked.
"B didn't tell me." You answered your back to the group.
"Uh-" All Might looked from you then to Bakugo, who rested his hands in his pockets waiting for you.
"It's a date!" Mina gushed, her elbows resting on her knees watching the show.
"D-Date!?" All Might gasped, his eyes wide looking at Bakugo. "Wh-What—When did you two, what!?"
"I got this Mr. T-!" Mina hopped off the stairs to stand beside All Might, "-where are you taking our daughter!?" All Might raise an eyebrow looking at Mina.
"Dinner." Bakugo glared at his classmate, why was she even here?
"Is that all?" Mina was disappointed, hearing the lame planned out date.
"No."
"What else!?"
"It's a surprise." Bakugo rolled his crimson eyes, trying to keep his temper in check in front of All Might. He was not standing before his idol as his student, he was standing before a father as the guy taking his daughter out on a date.
"Oh!" Mina smirked, "You will have her back by midnight-" Mina felt All Might's glare. "-eleven-?" Mina lightly corrected, looking at All Might who nodded in approval. "-eleven!" Mina pointed at Bakugo who groaned wishing you would just hurry up!
The three standing by the door all looked around hearing you walk out of the kitchen. Bakugo's heart skipped upon seeing you dressed up for the first time.
"Have fun you two!" Mina waved as you followed Bakugo out the front door.
"You think she will be, ok?" All Might turned to Mina, who smiled at the worried man who stepped into the father figure role of a new teenage girl.
"I have no doubt in my mind-" Mina weakly smiled, "-that Bakugo will do everything in his power to keep (y/n) safe."

The walk was silent, you couldn't stop your eyes from locking onto the sidewalk following Bakugo to a fancy restaurant where he had reservations waiting for the two of you. He pulled your chair out for you before taking his own seat across from you. Your throat felt swelled shut, having no idea what to say.
"You look nice." Bakugo was the first to break the silence.
"Thanks." You replied, "Ah, you do too."
"I know." Bakugo held a cocky smirk that made you roll your eyes. The server came, dropped drinks off before taking your order.
"I'll get this going for you." The server smiled before taking their leave.
"I-" Bakugo took a deep breath, "-I am sorry for what I said." His words sounded practiced but unnatural coming from his mouth. "I... I couldn't sleep the night before; I was tired, and I let my anger get in the way-"
"You do that a lot." You replied, leaning back against your seat.
"I know...I'm...working on it." Bakugo stared anywhere but you, he sounded like he really was working on his explosive behavior.
"I-" You licked your lips, "-I don't want you to change-" You said, his explosive nature is what drew you to him. "-just don't be a complete dick for no reason."
"I don't want you to message that second year."
"Huh?"
"That guy-" Bakugo bit his jaw trying to control his tone, "-who gave you his number."
"Kage?"
"Yes-" Bakugo hissed out each letter, "-I didn't want you to message him or anyone else because I... I kinda like you or whatever, so don't be getting a big head over it!" He pointed at you, making you smile.
"Ok." You shrugged.
"Ok?"
"I won't message him."
"Just like that?"
"I already threw the number away." You smirked. "I told you, I was only sparring with the guy per the teachers request."
"So... you just threw it away?"
"I just said that."
"About everything else I said..." Bakugo breathed, "...I don't know why I said those things, I was blindly angry. I know you don't believe in cheap words, so I am gonna show you-" Bakugo reached out, touching your hand with his, "-that I will be better."
