Chapter 2: Ariana and Ryan
Ariana sat at the ledge of her father's bed. Her mother had died almost over an year ago and yet her father had not been able to get over the pain. Ariana had cried and cried but eventually she understood that in her father's ill state, the kingdom had only her and she had recollected herself.

In her days on the battlefield where her exposure to females was almost negligible, Ariana had grown up more like a prince than a princess of her times. Her Father had taught her how to fight, defend herself and even attack the mightiest of warriors. On the other hand her mother was her home. Every time she was tired from her life, she knew that her mother would guide her. But the favorite part about her mother was the stories of the Oracle that she told her every now and then.
In the Kingdom of Ambrosia and all the kingdoms around it, the Oracle was he most important part of the life of a teenager or a young adult. The myths that had been passed on to them from centuries was reflected in the rule that before getting married to anyone, the couple had to go in front of the Oracle and the Oracle would decide if it was a compatible match or not. Incase the Oracle disapproved of it, the Kingdom would be cursed. And if the oracle approved of the marriage, the King would get a special power.
Ariana's father and mother had also been declared as a compatible match and there had been celebrations after that. The marriage had followed. Ever since Ariana was sixteen, her tender heart had yearned to find her own match, hold his hand and go to The Oracle. But never once had she found such a deep connection.
As Ariana closed her eyes to drift off to her own fantasy land, her mother's last words echoed in her ears, "Love is the only potion that can heal the world, Ari. I want you to spread love not hatred; Only defend, not attack; listen to your people and be kind. And find your match." A tear trickled down her face. She felt alone.

Ever since Ryan was born, the kingdom had seen no downfall. Kingdom Castillo had been a happy place ever since then. As Ryan grew up and developed finer interests like art and painting, he was also taught that he was the successor and had to bring many laurels to his kingdom. He was one of the best warmen the planet had seen in a very long time. He was sharp, quick and most importantly patient. He predicted his opponent's moves with great accuracy and it made him unbeatable.
From a tender age of fifteen he had been fighting battles, small and big. Three years had passed and his life on the battlefield had been fulfilling. He derived pleasure from conquering and he had captured four kingdoms in a short period of time.
Ryan was a man in the literal sense. Tall, with a wheatish complexion and sharp features, he had eyes that would make any girl swoon. But no girl had ever caught his attention. His younger sister Luna often teased him about it and said that he would never go in front of the Oracle if he lived like that. Most of the times he did not care about it but sometimes he felt the need to build a connection just because the Oracle gave powers everytime a couple was made. He wanted to be immensely powerful.

Ambrosia was a beautiful place. With its creamy rivers, larger than life landscapes and a Palace that appealed to the finer senses, every part of it felt like heaven. Ryan had wanted to be the King of Ambrosia for almost half a decade but had not dared to intrude because of the King. However, he had recently found out that the King was in coma and no one was being able to treat him. The Kingdom was now in the hands of a weak chief of the army and it was thus his chance to try his luck. Everyday he slept with his last desire being that of Ambrosia.
