Chapter 182: Eolian

While Igrid was relaying the dangers facing all of Skyrim to the Jarl of Whiterun, he was unaware of his soon-to-be status as the main combatant in the first attack against the revived dragon race. Then, subsequently, he will absorb the dragon's soul and shout for the first time...

Then, the Greybeards will call out and his identity as the Dragonborn will resound throughout all of Skyrim. But that is for another day...

....(Scene Break)....

In the world of Temerant, Elliot has been studying at the University for some time now and has enjoyed every moment. The curriculum was difficult, even for Travelers like him, but the information gained and the abilities acquired were certainly worth the effort.

'Sympathy will change the entire dynamic of Dome City. It will truly be a "wrench" thrown into the system...' the young man thought happily while making his way towards the City of Imre where he will meet up with a few friends for a night out.

Sympathy, simply put, is a branch of 'magic'...

Using one's "Alar" (Will/Belief), one can bind two objects together using one of many "Sympathetic Bindings". The principle is simple...

After a sympathist "binds" two objects together, whatever phenomenon is done to one item, will also reflect in the other.

For example, using the "Sympathetic Binding of Parallel Motion", one can bind two coins together, and by moving one of the coins to the left, the other will move the same without being touched, as if invisibly connected with string.

Of course, there are also laws that go along with sympathy...

The Sympathetic Law of Conservation, for example, states that no energy can be destroyed nor created, it can only be lost or found...

Thus, when moving one of the sympathetically bound coins a centimeter to the left, a person will feel as though they are moving both (the weight will be the sum of both coins if they're bound).

It is important to know that the more identical two objects are, the stronger the sympathetic binding. Two identical coins made of the same alloy will bind well while a piece of cloth and a candlestick will bind horribly. This terrible binding will cause a variety of adverse effects...such as the force needed to move both after binding being many times the weight of both.

To further explain, binding a coin and chair together while double, will result in a weak binding and thus requires more energy to move. The coin will be much harder to move than a coin and chair normally would.

These are only elementary examples of Sympathy...

'Although it was difficult, using Sympathy to deal with that bully truly was fulfilling...' Elliot affirmed as he pushed open the door to The Eolian, where he will listen to some wonderful music with his pals.

Because Elliot is much older than most students, he was bullied after entering school as this indicated he was less intelligent and therefore less qualified to attend the University. The major offender was a year ahead of him...

So, after collecting some of the bully's hair and blood samples discreetly, he made a life-sized replica of the bully using various organic materials and clay. He filled the clay doll with water and added the blood and hair samples as well...

The Doctrine of Correspondence states that the more alike things are, the better the sympathetic binding. So his life-like bully replica worked well....although the entire process put him in the infirmary for a week due to over-exertion.

Anyways, after binding the bully and the Doll using his Alar, he heated a metal rod to glowing red before pressing it against the clay-figurings life-like @nus.

Elliot quickly removed the binding and threw the replica into the prepared furnace nearby so that no evidence of his actions would be left. He barely had enough time to clean up his traces before he fell unconscious for the week...
