Chapter 16: Chapter 15
A couple week's past in a flash while living with Reimu she was basically the big sister I never had. She was snarky and was even willing to show me some of her magic as I taught her some simple cleaning charms. The face of pure relief she had when she learned the vanishing charm was euphoric and I was reminded this world was purposely kept in the middle ages so no running water or electronics.
"I am now the perfect house husband." I grumbled as Reimu sniggered beside me as she watched me charm some utensils to wash the dishes and basically living a Disney song as I walked around animating cleaning supplies to do the weekly clean of the temple saving the two of us a days work.
Reimu gave a light push "Oh come on you been working on that new wizard tower so I haven't seen you during the day and you are always tired when you get back here to eat in sleep so we don't get much time to just relax."
Yeah seeing as I was an idiot and literally left my home behind I started to build a generic tower, but being a literal wizard flying around building a tall tower that could be seen from the Human village and the shrine I was already dubbed "The Wizard" and even worse it was already known that I was friends with Reimu and didn't have her acerbic personality and was willing to help so long as it wasn't a stupid request so people would travel to my still being built tower and 'request my assistance'.
"Ha more like I've been busy cleaning up you're problems. you know that there's an Eientei rabbit trying to seduce one of the normal rabbits one of the villages keep's as a pet but wont accept the fact that it is a bog standard rabbit..." I groaned. seriously Yokai are flipping insane I am so glad I warded the spot were I was going to build the tower because every day I go back there is always weird debris from where they threw stuff at the ward line.
Reimu nodded shamelessly. "If only you were a woman I would have made you a priestess and kept you here haha." She laughed happily
!Boom a large plum of dark smoke came from the northern forests. "Ugh I've been wondering what Marisa has been getting into. Now I know, lets get going who knows what she's doing and I don't want the Forest of Magic to burn down."
I nodded hearing about the lost and deranged spirits that haunted the forest along with the crazy magicians who call the place home, who eat the hallucinogenic mushrooms to gain more magical power but are driven insane by the hallucination's they cause in turn making them stay in the forest. "Yeah we need to make sure the forest doesn't burn down but then again if it does your dinky little shrine may get destroyed so we can rebuild it haha."
She seemed the compilate it and my heart thudded within my chest, while I mentally screamed 'I was and idiot for possibly dragging more work to myself.' "No burning down the Shrine would just get Yukari on my back." She saw me twerking an eyebrow that said 'So what you wanna trouble her as well.' She giggled as we walked around to the front gate "Despite how funny it would be too for a change bring trouble to her I actually like living here. Now throw down the flying carpet and lets go."
"Yes yes my lady your dashing prince shall take you wherever you want, would you like me too pull the moon down for you as well." I said sarcastically as she plopped her self down on the upgraded flying carpet I've been working on I added some ropes to the edges to hold onto and a couple pillows to sit on.
She huffed and played with her nails disdainfully "Well I suppose that could be a start." Before she lost her composure and snorted. Yeah Reimu is in no way shape or form a 'proper lady' with how much a tomboy she is.
We quietly flew over the Forest of Magic with Reimu pointing out places of note like the man eating flowers, trees where some fairy's live and some other stuff.
Thankfully the house where the smoke was coming from wasn't on fire but there was a hole blown through the roof. "Why don't you go talk to her and tell her I am here. I will clean this place up and start to repair it." She nodded and jumped off the carpet and I hovered over the house and first used an over powered reparo to bring the roof together then used a Aquameti to summon a jet of water to emulate a power washer to get the soot and smoke off.
It only took me a few minutes finish cleaning up so after pausing at the door if I should come in I just shrugged "Reimu I'm done outside is everything ok?" and walked in to see Reimu and a blonde hair girl staring at one another, the other girl was dressed in stereotypical witch clothes being a black robe and a pointed hat, she was also around the same age as Reimu.
Reimu had an exasperated face and she gestured around the room and I saw the massive stacks of books lining the walls literally from floor to ceiling without any bookshelves. I grimaced at how messy the room was and the girl seeing another person about to start naggign exploded "Hey how I decorate my house is my business kid." I just sighed and tried to be polite.
"Ok my mistake now my name is Jake Barris I am known lately as the Wizard." I said and her eyes widened with glee.
"Oh I'm a fan I heard you are so good at beating Yokai they cant even get close to your tower! And my name is Marisa Kirisame the greatest witch" I twitched and the image of fallen tree's and boulders lining my ward line took over and a few books and knickknacks started hovering in my irritation
"Yes yes I am" I said simply. If I find the Yokai who is throwing tree's and boulders at my tower, I am going to drop an anvil on them.
Reimu's smile was strained so I turned to Marisa who looked sheepish "Haha a new mansion appeared over by the Misty Lake so umm. I saw an open window and checked it out and found a huge library although the people there didn't want to share the books so I had to beat them up for not sharing." She mumbled at the end.
"Ok ignoring how I'm guessing you stole literal stacks of books with how disorganized these are. Ignoring her "Hey!" Of indignation I continued "That doesn't explain why a hole blown out of your house and the smoke was seen from all the way back at the shrine..."
She just rubbed her head. "Well I found this cool ritual something about blood of gods eating the sun and covering the world in crimson mist sounded so cool so I had to try!"
I just buried my face in my hands this stupid girl wanted to cover the world in bloody mist with some pagan ritual that god knows if it works, its a miracle she is alive.
"I hope you plan on returning these books back soon who knows if the people there may cause an incident to get them back." I tried to hint at Reimu who just shook her head hopelessly.
Marisa just nodded gleefully "Yeah that's no problem as soon as I read all these book I will return them." Looking at the literal piles of books I would put them at over several hundred books so they wont be returned for a couple years at least.
"Whatever this isn't my problem Reimu lets go home I will be done with my tower in a couple days anyway." I said fed-up with how nonchalant Marisa was, I didn't want to deal with a couple psycho loli vampires and there time stopping ninja maid.
