Chapter 6: Promise
He touched her and thought.
"Will you be happy if I give you a ruby stone?"
"Oh, ruby, you woke up first today."
She woke up and asked.
"Then I will prepare some food, and then I will go to find some medicinal herb."
As she said, she prepared some food for me and went to the forest to find medicine again. I am resting all day alone. I feel I like this relaxed life. Then she came back the evening and treated me with her healing power. Like this, three months have passed.
One morning they were sleeping together in bed. He woke up again first. He touched her beautiful face and thinking.
"How can anyone be this beautiful?"
"Ruby, sleep more. Today I won't go anywhere. I will stay home. We will play later. So sleep more. You always feel alone when I am not home. I know so I am thinking, I will stay with you today."
Saying this, she embraced him and fell asleep again.
"You damn woman know only to torture me. Do you know what are you doing? I am a grown man. How can you embrace me like this and fall asleep? This dangerous, you don't know. I am a generous man. So I will forgive you. But it's nice when I wake up I see someone besides me. What! What am I thinking? If she dares sleep with me, then what am I afraid of. Her touch is refreshing like spring."
He forgot that he was a little wolf. Some hours later, they woke up. He grows up little.
"Wow, you grow up, ruby."
"I will grow up. Because I am not a real wolf. You don't know anything. If you know this, would you be happy like this that I am not your little ruby but a werewolf king?"
When Thanatos thought, he felt a little sad. She saw him like droop down.
"Don't worry, my little ruby. I will like you if you become a big ruby. I won't leave you if you don't leave me."
She laughed and said.
"You don't believe me. Then I will promise to you. If little ruby doesn't leave me, then I won't leave little ruby. If I break my promise then god won't spare me and my soul won't exist anymore. Now you believe me."
She laughed and said. He nodded his head and said, he knows now.
"Good. Then I will go to prepare some food for us. When we finish eating our food, we will go out and play."
She is gone to prepare food.
"She promised like that to me. I am an outsider. How can she be so kind who she met only a few months? No, not me, she promised with a little wolf. Who has no relative in this world, no one to keep him well? She doesn't know the wolf is dangerous. How can she be so innocent? Humans are dangerous than the animal. Will she be with Thanatos, not a little wolf? But she promised to be with me. I don't want to let you go even if you want to go. Who knows what will happen to you if I let you go? You are so innocent and kind. This world is crueler. All human is selfish. They only know how to use others. If you go to them, then what will happen to you. I can't let you go. I will keep you with me."
He is thinking alone. How will she react when she knows I am not a real wolf cub but a human. Will she be happy to know me, or will she give me a cold shoulder?
Suddenly he heard her voice.
"Ruby, little ruby. You are so little. What are you thinking so hard? Are you missing your family?"
She asked. He looked at her. How can there be such a pure face? Who doesn't know anything about this world?
"Her eyes glitter when she speaks with me. I feel at ease when she looks at me with those eyes."
He was thinking, but he stopped when she asked about his family.
"Are you miss your family? You want to go to find your family."
She asked.
"Family? I don't have any family. But if you want to be my family then I will be happy. I want to ask would you be willing to be my family? How can you be my family you even don't know me?"
When he was thinking this, he felt sad. She saw his sad face.
"Oh, I am sorry, ruby. I know you miss your family. I didn't mean to ask, but when I saw you were sad so I was thinking if you miss your family. If you don't have a family, then don't be sad. I will be your family. You don't have to stay alone."
She said.
"If you know I am a human, then will you say that again. No, I do not deserve to be your family. But I don't want you to hate me when you know I am not a little wolf. I don't want to let you go."
"You did a good job to stay alive, ruby. So don't think anything anymore. You don't have to blame yourself."
She said to him.
"No one says that like to me. You are the first one to say, don't blame yourself."
"let's eat food. Then we will go out. Your internal wounds almost healed. I think in one month you will be a healthy wolf. But I am really want to know how a little wolf-like you have a serious internal wound. How will you live till now with your heavy injury? I am sad. Don't think I am pity you. It's not a pity, but I am really sad. If I didn't meet you back then, you wouldn't be alive till now. I am glad I meet you and healed you. Now you can live many years. I am glad you are alive."
She said with a mixed sad and happy face. When he heard, she is happy to see him alive. His heart was flattering.
"What! She is happy to see me alive. Until now I know no one would be happy to see me alive. But now someone sincerely said she was happy. I am happy to hear her. I wish you could stay with me for so long."
Now he feels an unknown mixed feeling.
