Chapter 31: Overhaul's overhaul.

As soon as Luna Apparated away, Sirius launched his attack. Why talk to your opponent when you can hit him with a Curse or two? His Wand glowed black and two beams immediately hit Chisaki's minions. Something began to move under their skin, and the shouts of the Yakuza filled the tunnel.

Overhaul did not stand still and touched his subordinates, their bodies immediately rebuilt and returned to their normal state. . . Only this didn't help, since the curse affected the soul, not the body.

Seeing that his attempts were futile, the Villain dodged another serious - see what I did there? - Curse and touched the floor. A wall immediately appeared in front of him from which dozens of thorns were shot. Sirius didn't even blink and Apparated behind Chisaki's back. He immediately had to dodge the hand that wanted to grab his face.

'He's good.'

Shifting to the side, Sirius grabbed Overhaul by the forearm and punched him in the elbow. A satisfactory crack sounded through the tunnel just as Black's blow ripped the limb in half.

Chisaki wailed in pain and kicked Sirius to create distance between them. Black was a little surprised at the strength and speed of the blow that made him step back but did not have time to think about it. Overhaul touched his arm and recovered it in a second. The villain glared at the Vigilante with hatred but didn't move.

"Salazar Slytherin. You've been a thorn in my side long enough. I-"

Sirius snapped his fingers and a sea of fire surrounded the Villain, his screams filling the tunnel again. Suddenly, the Overhaul jumped out of the fire like a wild animal, arms outstretched forward in an attempt to reach Sirius. The Wizard was again a little surprised by this reaction, he did not often meet such insane bastards.

Sirius Apparated behind the Villain again and sent Stunner to his back. He couldn't dodge in the air - much less from a spell he had not seen - and fell to the ground like a sack of potatoes.

The wizard waved his Wand and the lights died out, he didn't want to kill Chisaki now, no matter how good it would feel. He walked over to the unconscious Yakuza and squatted down in front of him. Sirius grabbed his hair and lifted his head to see his face.

"Well, let's see what's going on in your head."

He opened Chisaki's eye with his free hand and, with the help of Legimelisy, began to read his memories. After a while, he let go of his hair and let his head hit the floor.

". . ."

He didn't like what he saw.

"Fiendfyre."

A small Basilisk emerged from the tip of his Wand, and the serpent greedily began devouring the Yakuza's bodies. Sirius silently looked at the tunnel for the last time and Apparated to Kumono, he had put a spell tracker on him in advance.

The spider did not expect him to appear and jumped on the wall the second when Sirius Appeared next to him.

"Come on down, we found the girl. It's time to get the hell out of here."

Seeing the mood of his colleague in the great cause of Vigilantism, Kumono did not argue and went down from the wall. Sirius touched his shoulder and Apparated them to the roof of a nearby house. He didn't explain anything and just pointed to the compound.

As soon as he did this, the ground under the building cracked. The Basilisk - a thousand times bigger than what he cast - ate the house and hissed contentedly in the quiet night before disappearing.

Kumono could only stare blankly at what was happening in front of him with a hanging jaw. His head slowly turned towards where Sirius was standing, only to see that there was no one there.

"Crazy bastard. . ."

---

Tsukuchi Naomasa stared at the scene of the massacure with tired eyes. Six people with broken necks and one semi-insane survivor. He continued to mumble something about open eyes and statues.

Well, no one said his job was the easiest, did they?

"Sir, can you tell me what happened?" He tried again.

". . . It escaped from its captivity." The man answered. "We had to Secure it. Contain it. Protect others from it. But we failed. We were the first to go here, but we were the last when the portal collapsed. Now it's just me and the statue. I shouldn't have blinked. They would have survived. Don't blink, you shouldn't blink. . ."

The worst part was that his Quirk registered everything the homeless man said as truth. So either he's even more insane than Tsukuchi originally thought, or. . .

'We've got another Villain on the streets. I don't even want to know what horror is going on here.'

"Don't worry sir, you're safe."

"No, no, no. No one is safe as long as it's free." The man laughed hysterically. "We found out that it can fucking CLONE itself. Can you imagine?! Hundreds of statues in the streets and you can't even blink one eye. Hehe. You better not blink, detective."

The crazy cackle rang again in the alley. Naomasa didn't know what was happening here, but he knew that there was nothing good.

'Lost Children, Surprising Homes, murders, Villains, and now this? Damn, maybe I should retire.'

No one knew that right now this statue was moving at an incredible speed towards the forest. After all, nobody can create clones from nothing, can they?

---

Sirius had half a brain to vanish blood from his clothes and face before entering his house. He didn't want to scare Eri, who probably saw much more than any six-year-old should. Hell, he was surprised that her life was worse than his past with the Dursleys, which was pretty hard to beat.

He opened the door to the house and immediately heard the quiet voices of Luna and Eri in the living room. So without wasting much time, Sirius kicked off his boots and hung his coat in the closet. The man walked to the living room and stopped at the door inside to listen to the conversation of the two girls.

"No, unicorns are not evil. In fact, anyone who dares to drink the blood of a unicorn will be cursed." Luna explained.

"But doesn't that mean I'm cursed? Chiskai needed my blood so he could heal me. He said that only he can control my curse, that alone I will only harm others."

Luna just smiled and patted the girl on the head.

"Well, I can say for sure that a cutie like you can't be cursed. Your power is a gift and not all that hogwash that Chisaki said."

The girl nodded uncertainly. She wanted to believe the catgirl, but the years spent in the laboratory wouldn't disappear after a couple of kind words.

Sirius knocked on the doorframe, drawing the attention of Luna and Eri. The girl with the horn immediately grabbed Luna's shirt and tried to hide from the stranger.

Sirius did not Apparate to the already burned Yakuza hideout and burn it again just because they were all already dead. No one should treat children like Chisaki did.

The green-eyed smiled and walked over to the sofa on which the girls were sitting. He squatted down next to them and looked at Eri, who blankly looked at him in return. There was no fear in her eyes, only acceptance. And that frightened Sirius.

How much did this poor soul have to endure to not even be afraid of him? Even some adults shat their pants when Sirius tried to be intimidating, - not that the Wizard was trying to be intimidating now - but the girl didn't even blink. She just wanted to know what would happen to her next.

"Hey little one, my name is Sirius, but you can call me Siri. I know that this is all very strange and even scary for you, but we just couldn't leave you in that place. Now you will live with us and you will never have to go back there."

Eri continued to stare at him with wide eyes, as if he was speaking in a language she didn't know. She blinked a couple of times and pinched her palm to see if she was asleep.

"But... Chisaki! He always finds me! He will hurt you just to get me back!"

Sirius chuckled softly and shook his head. He did not pat the girl on the head as his girlfriend did, Eri will most likely be afraid of him for a long time. Well, him and everyone else except Luna.

"Chisaki will never be able to find you again - I doubt anyone could find him right now - so you have nothing to worry about. Pinky promise." He held out his little finger. Eri tilted her head in confusion and looked at it.

"What's a pinky promise?"

"Oh boy, we have a lot to teach you. . . Well, it'll even be more fun that way."

Midoriya chose this moment to return home, the teen nearly fell in the hallway - judging by the sounds from there - but managed to keep his balance.

"Sirius! Why must I pick up a handgun from a school full of hormonal teenagers instead of you?! You -"

He went into the living room and just looked at Luna, Eri, and Sirius for a couple of seconds.

"- stole a child." He finally said with a deadpan.

"You are technically right, but listen to me, if you were in my place, you would do the same."

"No, I'm going to bed. And don't you dare wake me up at four in the morning, I have a gun."

Izuku hid behind his room door and went to bed, leaving the trio to sit in the living room. Sirius stood up to his full height and looked at the two girls on the couch.

"Okay, Luna, can you check our cute unicorn? I have something to do."

The wizard sent a soft Legimelisy probe to Luna's head and conveyed his thoughts to her. The catgirl nodded in understanding and lifted Eri into her arms.

"I'll just check how healthy you are, you have nothing to worry about."

Sirius nodded to himself and went into the basement. According to Chisaki's memories, the girl could return anything she touched to a previous state. Without proper control, she would kill herself, so Sirius decided to do something to help her. Black pulled out a red - almost pink - gem and a rune carving set.

'It's going to be a long night.'
