Chapter 2: 01. Falling To Dust
Eyes glowered in anger as they watched the news on the TV, replaying the part over and over again, making the continuous replay sound like a ringtone in the ear.
"ROYAL-5 IS A RACIST GROUP." Said their blaring ringtone from the TV.
A much older man who was standing, putting on medicated glasses clutched the buttons of his shirt so right and decided to look away from the TV and fell to the sofa behind him on his back.
The five other younger kids in the room just sighed repetitively, bowing their heads down in shame, anger and a whole lot of mixed emotions. Their eyes couldn't keep watching and their ears had grown weary from listening, so one of them switched off the TV and they just took various head poses, from leaning back on the chair to supporting the head with the knuckles of their hands.
"This is all your fault." The older man began scolding looking into the direction of a young man with silky dirty blonde hair like he had dyed them. He had a silver cross earring that hung down his left ear and the other had a simple black stud earring.
His hair was a short bob cut with a few curly strands down his right eye. He was younger than all of them from the face.
But his face didn't hold any form of emotion as soon as the old man stated what he said. The young man just looked at him in the eye, with no shade of sadness nor disappointment, nor anger… nothing at all. He looked so ok and it was almost like even if the worst which was yet to come came, he will handle everything with just the mere look of his face.
"You silly child. Always talking before you think. Why did you have to run your mouth and ruin everything for me?" The old man argued but the young man wasn't going to say a word.
"Go Soo-Hyun!" The old man screamed his name and he just didn't look fazed. He had prepared for this, although hearing his name roaring out of the old man's mouth was like been struck by lightning itself. Whenever the old man roared any of their names fully when angry, it meant that either you had done something disastrous or he was going to do something disastrous.
"Relax, old Park. Soo-Hyun never meant it. He was just misunderstood." Another young man, replied in place of Hyun, seeing that Soo-Hyun was not going to give an answer anytime soon.
He shook his head and continued, "Old Park, you should trust your kids. I know that Soo Hyun will never have any intention of saying something like that or even being that way. Besides—"
"Shut it, Theo." The old Park scolded and Theo kept his mouth shut immediately. "The whole group has been tarnished by what he did. Be it intentional or unintentional. Everything we worked for, is falling to dust."
"Just look at the news. Look at it very well. We left from Rank #1 to Rank #8. A drastic fall passed 7 others. And your fans are reducing everyday. You are having a loss of 100,000 followers everyday and this is not going to help."
"The CEO of this company will sign us off if we don't do anything about? He will disband you guys and terminate your contracts."
"He can't do that. You are his brother and we have like 4 more years before thinking about disbanding the group or resigning the contract." Theo groaned and Old Park just hissed and sat back on his chair.
He wasn't in any mood for an argument with Theo nor any other member of the band but he was in no mood either for standing up to the CEO of the company. Now he won't even get his chance to speak in front of his brother and his dedicated year's of service will just go down the drain.
The boys understood this and saw it a need to rectify the unintentional error. But how were they going to rectify the error that Soo-Hyun made. He himself wanted to rectify the error and prove to them that he was not as the world thought he was.
He was asked at the interview, his kind of ideal woman… never had he thought that dark skin will be his kind although he was crazy over artists like Yoncé, Riri, and Nicki. They were blacks and beautiful.
But…
"Soo-Hyun give me your phone." Old Park ordered and Soo-Hyun looked startled before taking out his phone and then giving it to him.
"From now henceforth, until I give you one, you will not have a phone and from now henceforth, you cease to be the leader of this group. Mickey will take over as the leader. Besides, he's older and the only one that is intelligent here." He said and walked out on them.
Everyone looked flushed, especially Soo-Hyung who seemed to have been demoted.
