Chapter 2: Understanding of Ability
Hearing the response from Sergeant John, everyone in the room came to the realization. The Commander, understanding the situation at hand, calls upon everyone's attention "Since we are under attack from the creatures from the card. We must think of a plan. Don't worry about creatures outside. The wall can endure their attack for months."
A Sergeant with a bushy beard said "I believe that the card must be the power of the red creature. Seeing that every card depicts a different image of these red creatures with different abilities shown."
Everyone nodded in agreement. The Commander, seeing that everyone was on the same page, continued, "Since everyone has a good understanding of what's going on, we can now start making a plan. Who here has an idea?"
Another Sergeant with a scar on his face said "I believe you all can agree with me in saying that we have to fight our way out of here. We don't have any food or water in the room. If we stay, we will starve to death. "
The Commander looked around the room to see if everyone agreed, and they did. Since everyone agreed with the Scar Face Sergeant plan. The Commander asked everyone about what card they picked.
The scarface Sergeant, or Sergeant Arthur, picks a two star card named Fire Manipulation. The bushy-bearded Sergeant or Sergeant Longbottom picked a two star card named Iron Skin. Another Sergeant named Sergeant William picked a one star card named All Punch. Sergeant John picks a two star card named Critical Punch. The Commander or Commander Tompson picks a three star card named Commanding Right. I also told them about my three star card, Colossal Might.
Even though they picked and knew the names of those cards, they didn't know what they did. So we all started experimenting with what those abilities could mean and how to use them. While Sergeant Arthur's card is self-explanatory, we couldn't do anything to test it. Since there isn't a single fire to be seen. So we started to experiment with Sergeant Longbottom. We all started punching him, and to our surprise, his skin was really tough, like iron tough. Seeing that the card gives the Sergeant such a powerful skin, everyone thought that it would be more accurate to test the other powerful on him. So Sergeant William punched Sergeant Longbottom in the stomach. Sergeant Longbottom was able to assess that Sergeant William punch was much more powerful than anyone in the room by three times.
After Sergeant William tested his card power. Sergeant John punched Sergeant Longbottom, but to everyone's dismay, his punch had the same power as a normal person's. Sergeant Longbottom suggested that the Sergeant punch again, but this time at a critical part of his body. Which makes sense since the name says "Critical Punch." The Sergeant punched Sergeant Longbottom again, but this time it was in his face. However, disappointingly, nothing happened. Sergeant John punched Sergeant Longbottom again, but to everyone's surprise, Sergeant Longbottom was sent flying back.
Everyone was now confused about Sergeant John's card. However, I think I was able to grasp the ability well. So I explain, "I think the ability to Critical Punch gives Sergeant John a chance to multiply the power of his punch." Hearing my explanation, everyone agreed.
Sergeant John then went on to punch Sergeant Longbottom ten times before Sergeant Longbottom was sent flying backward again. Seeing that my hypothesis is true, everyone moves on to Commander Tompson. Since his ability has commanding in its name, everyone thought that the ability made the Commander able to command anyone by force. So we tried and nothing happened. We brainstormed for a while before giving up hope because all the ideas didn't work. Until out of nowhere, everyone starts to feel that their energy comes back like a miracle.
Seeing this, everyone turned their heads toward Commander Tompson. He answered "I think my power is not to command. Instead, it's to give orders that make others feel a boost in state. Before everyone gets their energy back, I command you guys to not lose hope. Which in turn my power interprets as more energy. "
The Commander tested if his guess was true and started to give a command. "I command you all to fight better." Suddenly, a rush of power went toward everyone in the room, feeling like their muscles had gotten thicker and heavier. Sergeant William punched Sergeant Longbottom. To his surprise, Sergeant Longbottom was sent back two steps. Sergeant Longbottom assesses that his punch power increased by two times.
Everyone in the room understands how broken Commander Tompson's power is. If he were to use this in the time of war. It would probably be a one-sided massacre. Imagine a whole platoon of soldiers that is two times stronger than normal. This isn't even accounting for what other commands he could give.
After half an hour of testing, Commander Tompson managed to discover five commandes. Fight better, move faster, fight on, stand strong, and have better vision. Move faster obviously makes his soldiers move faster. Fight on, wash away fatigue, stand strong, stronger defense of the body. Better vision sees farther in the distance. Although there are only five commands, Commander Tompson can give two at a time. At a cost of lesser duration, changing from five minutes to two and half minutes.
Although only short in duration, it is still a crazily powerful ability. During the time testing Commander Tompson's ability, we all came to an understanding that the difference in power between each star is massive. Comparing All Punch and Critical Punch as an example. All Punch does give a boost in strength, but it's only three times the amount. While Critical Punch has an infinite boost of strength as long as Sergeant John's luck is on point.
With their understanding of the power of the stars, everyone looks at me in anticipation. I, like Commander Tompson, have a three star card. Looking back at the image, I can guess my power can enlarge me to a bigger size. So I imagine myself getting larger and true to behold. I have grown one and a half times bigger than my current height. Making me 2.7 meter tall, everyone stares at me in awe when they see my size increase.
They suggested that I should test my power on Sergeant Longbottom, and I did. My punch, not to anyone's surprise, sent him flying crashing to the wall. He stood up and said that my punch could be estimated two times stronger than Sergeant William's punch with the Commander boost on. I nodded in agreement because the translucent screen showed my state increased by twelve times my normal strength.

I also see that my endurance has increased too. So I asked Sergeant William to punch with Commander Tompson's boost on. To everyone's surprise, I didn't even budge a single inch. This causes Sergeant Longbottom to feel a bit depressed about someone else having a stronger defense than him. Seeing him depressed, I suggested that he should copy the image on the card. He did, and his skin turned metallic and skinny. He asked me to punch him again and he didn't even flinch.
Everyone who heard my suggestion to Sergeant Longbottom started to do the same. Until they realized that their picture depicted the exact same image of them wielding their power. While everyone else is ecstatic about their newfound power, Sergeant Arthur is disappointed that he can't put it to use.
Seeing that everyone has an understanding of their power, Commander Tompson makes a battle strategy against those red creatures. He put me and Sergeant John at the front of the frontline. Sergeant Longbottom was at the back with Sergeant William at the backline. Sergeant Arthur and Commander Tompson will be in the middle of the formation as the supporters and long-range combatants. Seeing that Sergeant Arthur's ability must have something to do with making fire bend to his will. With everything ready, we were prepared to kill those red creatures.
