Soon all that was left was a swarm of black bugs buzzing in the air, though the incessant buzzing was actually serving a purpose.
Across the Sovereign Immortal Aperture,

Countless Gu Immortals began to awake from their Dream Path induced slumber.
When they realised what had happened and that Lord Fang Yuan was flying high above them, they bowed in reverence.
"Thank you, Lord Fang Yuan for saving us,"
"Lord Fang Yuan is truly the most benevolent of all the Venerbales!"
Meng Qiu Zhen was busy inspecting the Bed Bug created by the Bed Bug Bite Killer Move.
"Incredible this Dream Path Killer Move actually managed to create an entirely new lifeform, using the Green Ant Colonies as the foundation and Enlansvement Path to control them, manages to produce a Killer Move that continually grows, its already able to produce Dream Path effects, though on a low-end scale."
Indeed, Meng Qiu Zhen's analysis revealed that the Bed Bugs had more room to grow, amongst them were already a few on the verge of breaking through to Rank 6!
Fang Yuan came up to Meng Qiu Zhen, "Indeed, just like with the Ant Colonies, Rank 6 is a transformative period for these Bug Gu, being able to transform themselves into full-fledged Gu at Rank 6, all they need is more Dream Path Dao Marks."

He saw the glint of greed flashing in Fang Yuan's eyes, and with a sly grin, "That's right I plan to release these Bed Bugs into the Grand Dream Realm."

Releasing the Bed Bugs into the Grand Dream Realm was an audacious and ingenious strategy, it allowed Fang Yuan to reap some small and interesting gains but it was a huge loss for Heavenly Court, nay, the whole world!
The accumulation of over 3 million years worth of Dreams, research, and attainments, were all about to go feed the appetite of a few bugs!
It was truly laughable, in fact, if others had heard of this plan they would cry until rice became porridge!
The whole world would collectively come to know Fang Yuan's plan and exclaim, "What a waste!"
But that was in the future.
Meanwhile, in the Grand Dream Realm
Things had returned to normal, and the various people within had resumed their journeying in Dream Realms, with more fervour than before to make up for the lost time, except for 2 people.
They were Giant Sun and Heaven.
After obtaining the last bit of attainment she needed, she returned back to Heavenly Court to give a small insight into Fang Yuan's plan.
"He was absorbing Dream realms and turning them into raw Dream Path Dao Marks, my guess is to become naturally resistant to the effects of Dream Realms, this means the same trick won't work a second time and worse it also means his Dream Path Moves are going to hit harder and we no longer have someone that can tank them!"
This news made Genesis Lotus and Red Lotus grim.
"Where's Star Constellation?" Heaven asked, "We need her wits to come up with a good plan against Fang Yuan."
Genesis Lotus and Red Lotus looked at each other and turned to Heaven, "She's within the Grand Dream Realm still."
"What? Why hasn't she come out? Doesn't she know that if Fang Yuan absorbs her Dream Realm all her hard work will be wasted, not to mention that she can't leave the Grand Dream Realm in the process?"
Red Lotus and Genesis Lotus pondered it as well, "At first we had assumed she was trapped just like you but now we're not sure."
"Before you returned we tried to use the Killer Move, Returning From Inception To Reality," Red Lotus held up the thick Pink Rope, "But when we tried pulling on it after you came out there was still no response."
Heaven held the rope and gave it a light tug as well, to no avail, "Strange…she shouldn't be trapped anymore since I was able to return…there are 2 possibilities and I don't like either."
Heaven held out one of her fingers: "One, she is trapped by Fang Yuan and he had either killed her or is torturing her for info or both," Heaven lifted her second finger, "Or she is stuck in some other Dream Realm, not affected by Fang Yuan, or has severed the connection herself."
"Either way we have no way of knowing what has happened so be wary of Star Constellation if she returns," Heaven didn't trust the other 3 venerables and neither did they trust her.
They were always so united with one another, despite past animosity, that Heaven could not find any chinks in their cooperation.
While individually they weren't so frightening, combined, they became a force that truly instilled worry in her.
"If these 3 all become Dao Emperors and join Primordial…" Heaven shuddered, "I might really end up with the same fate as Earth."
Star Constellation's absence allowed for Heaven to instil a tiny chink in the cooperability of the Heavenly Court Venerables.
"Star Constellation is the glue that holds all of Heavenly Court together. Without her…hehe these 2 won't be able to cooperate and trust each other fully." Heaven began to scheme, "I only need them until I raise this Yin Body up then I will…"
As Heaven was scheming,
Genesis Lotus used the Painting World to establish a Mind Link with Red Lotus, without Heaven noticing.
"Do you trust her?" Genesis Lotus asked.
"No." Red Lotus retorted, "But that's not the most important question, the most important question is, do you trust me? And can we trust each other?"
Genesis Lotus thought about it, he still had gripes about Red Lotus, after all, he was the Immortal King of Heavenly Court that brought about their current predicament.
"I'll be honest, I can't trust you fully," Genesis Lotus replied.
Red Lotus nodded his head, "Me too. So let's make an agreement."
"We shall try our best to stall until Star Constellation returns, and try our best to trust each other because it is only the unity of Heavenly Court that allows us to surpass gods and demons."
Genesis Lotus took a long pause, "Okay I'll trust you on this."
The 2 shook hands in the mindscape.
Just as they had concluded their agreement,
Their attention was drawn to one of the screens, in it they saw a Dream Realm get completely devoured.
Then another one, and another.
Again and again, the process kept repeating.
And from the perspective of the Heavenly Court Gu Immortals, it was absolutely terrifying.

A man was standing on the edge of a cliff, his back facing a lush forest as he faced the roaring waves.
"Ahh, the call of the ocean, so grand and majestic, so beautiful and all-encompassing, wouldn't you agree?" the man seemed to be talking to nobody.
But just then, from the forest, a dart was whizzing at breakneck speeds towards him, it made little noise and was inches away from hitting the man and just when the dart seemed to hit…it penetrated right through him!
Leaving a dart sized hole in him.
"We got him!" voices could be heard coming from the forest.
A group of people covered from head to toe in black garments appeared out of seemingly thin air.
The man who sat at the cliffs began to slump over and fell headfirst, plunging towards the ocean.
"Shit," the leader of the group called out, "Quick we need to get some piece of evidence otherwise we don't get paid!"
As the group rushed to the edge of the cliff they felt that something was amiss.
The man who shot the dart observed the surrounding area of where his dart had punctured the man.
"Something is weird…" the man's years of experience told him, "But what…"
The scene was calling out to him but he couldn't quite put his hands on it…
The group began to look over the edge, hoping to find the body amongst the cliffside, but all they saw were the rampaging tides.
"Shit," the leader scratched his head, "Well we still managed to have captured video proof but the client specifically requested for a trophy to remember this by."
At the mention of the client, the group began to laugh, "Who would have thought that the famous Water Path Master, and the last remaining member of the Shui Tribe, Shui Bu, would be killed so easily."
Another grunt laughed hysterically, "That's not the funniest bit, who would have guessed that the person who hired us to kill him was none other than his wife!"
The group began roaring with laughter, even the boss was showing a smile, the only person out of place was actually the person that landed the kill, Yi Xuan.
"Somethings not right…" he kept replaying the scene in his head, "I definitely hit him but…"
Noticing how down he looked, his buddy, Xe Cean, came up to him: "Hey, brother why do you look so depressed we managed to get such a clean kill, all thanks to you!"
"I know but…"
Xe Cean patted Yi Xuan's back, "Relax we got such an easy job today and the boss is in such a good mood, and you managed to get the kill as well! If I were you I would be ecstatic!"
Xe Cean gave a smug and sly look at Yi Xuan, "With the payout from this gig you may be able to retire and marry Shi…" but before he could finish his sentence, he soon found his world turned upside down as his head was separated from his body, landing in Yi Xuan's arms.
Xe Cean's carefree look did not match the horrified expression on Yi Xuan's face.
"What the shit!" the leader and the rest of the group instantly sobered up and prepared a defensive stance.
"What the hell!"
"Who's there!"
As the group took defensive positions, Yi Xuan, ran into the forest!
"Yi Xuan come back here you coward!" the leader shouted: "When we get out of this I'll have your head!"
A cold voice responded from the edge of the cliffs, "Don't you know it's not polite to shout at while someone is talking to you…"
The sound of waters cascading, mixed with the salty scent of the seas, made the group of assailants nervous.
Then from the edge where Shui By once sat, a massive figure began to emerge from the waves.
Despite the figure's size, it did not block much of the sun's light, in fact, the sunlight was able to penetrate through the figure.
"Holy shi." before the assassin could finish his words the figure struck with terrifying speed, instantly turning the man into a paste.
"Fire!" the leader shouted, and the group launched all the Killer Moves they had at the ready.
Meanwhile, Yi Xuan was still running as fast as he could "Damnit! I knew something was off!"
Indeed, once he had seen Xe Cean's head in his hands, the final piece of the puzzle clicked together.
There was no blood from Yi Xuan's attack.
He didn't notice it at first as they had shot from quite the distance and just assumed that nobody could survive.
But they did not see Shui Bu's blood, even when he supposedly 'plunged' into the ocean, there was no blood.
And since Yi Xuan was sure to have used his best Mortal Killer Move it could only have meant one thing…
"Shui Bu is a Gu Immortal."
At the cliff, the once peaceful scenery was now decorated like the sight of a gruesome war field.
Entrails and blood lay everywhere as bodies were flailed around during the fight, Shui Bu made sure that they suffered all the way until their death
He took each person he killed and used them to bash the othersuntil not a single one of the men was alive.
The mass of water began to condense into the shape of a man.
"It seems one got away…oh well I do enjoy a hunt," a devilish grin appeared on the man's face.
