'The gap is too much. I should look for stairs' Hivon stands up
Exploring this floor is proven to be dangerous but it is better than re-encounter that dullahan. He should avoid fighting at all costs.
**Thump splash thump**
This is not good, a gluttonous ghoul is not a good matchup with someone who only has no sword to fight. He gets why Davick hid here until he died of starvation.
That undead has thick flesh and it cannot feel pain. A cut that is too shallow to it will be a demise for knife users. There are two best ways to kill this monster. One is to cut it in half or burn it with fire.
"Huh? I smell something living. A free meal nearby huh?"
'I shouldn't have poked my head out of this room' Hivon prepares his weapons.
"A rat should be better than nothing. Om nom"
'So he hunts things based on the freshness of the prey heh? Thankfully, I smeared myself with rotten meat' Hivon relieves himself
**clang**
'Damn it, this spear of that dead man'
"Who's there?"
'Should I answer it? Maybe I can fool it with the voice of a zombie. Since I have rotten smell and this floor should have some roaming zombies'
"U woo rooh?"
"It is just another mindless zombie. Its stench reaches my nose and I rather stay away from it"
'It worked. As long as I stay away from his sight, I should be able to find the stairs soon'
After an hour, Hivon found a stairway to the upper floor.
The 3rd floor should have only from level 11 to 15.
'It should be alright, these monsters should be easy to be stunned then I can run away'
An hour later
Hivon checks his rucksack, he realises that he is running out of water. One of the desperating ways to replenish water in this labyrinth is to drain a monster's blood. But this place has only undead so far. Perhaps, vines near those holes of this place could provide water. He has to look for those holes that have sunlight. There is hope.
He decides to explore this floor for water or stairs.
**Clack clack**
'Skeleton? It should be weak against blunt force,' He prepares to fight ',This is strange. This creature is at the death's door'
A skeleton that is crawling is getting closer and closer to him.
'If there is a weakened skeleton, there should be either another fellow adventurer coming here or a predator. The only predator in this place could only be trolls'
Trolls are those monsters who wander through labyrinths for either better weapons since they couldn't do well in forging or for food, such as us adventurers.
'I should hide' Hivon quickly runs away.
'If adventurers see me, they would think that I am some kind of monster who would deceive them through <deceive>and they would kill me if they suspect me. Or trolls see me, they would kill me on sight since trolls never hunt alone and their lowest level even for a newborn is 14.'
Ways to ensure that you are an adventurer are to either go to the guild or stay on the floor that is suitable for your level. We have a secret rule that: "Kill any adventurer who is not in their own ground or the devils could wipe a whole party". That is why many fallen adventurers get killed, it is because the safety of the entire party that you love and cherish is more important than a stranger out of nowhere.
'If we could have wiped those devils, we wouldn't have these kinds of problems.' Hivon keeps running
After running for a while, Hivon encounters something that he wished for. The vines should contain drinkable water.
'Something is not right. This floor should have some adventurers having gone around and camped. They usually cut some of these vines to get water but yet, these things are mostly unscratched. The more scratches they have, the safer the water. But these things have no scratch therefore, I should find a subject to test on' Hivon looks for some animals that can't withstand poison well since he doesn't have <cure> nor <poison immune>.
Usually, in this kind of place, rats should be more abundant than the lower floors. But Hivon isn't looking for rats, he looks for a pool of mosquito larvaes nearby those vines. Since that is a clear sign that water is drinkable and also a way to find out whether the water in the vines is drinkable or not. He found a pool of them, he cries in happiness inside his desperate mind. Some water is all he needs right now. After he filled all he can with his water bag, he gently puts some larvaes with some water in his helmet and back to those vines
He takes a leaf of those vines, he pours some of the water into it. Then he puts a drop of liquid from those vines
As he suspected, these vines are poisonous. The larvaes are dead. It is worth to fill a flask of poison to later on fight a monster. But now, he only has another empty leather bag so he fills it with poisonous water from those vines. Maybe he should take a silver coin from Davick's bag to find out whether this water is deadly or not.
He relieves himself that this water is not deadly after the silver coin didn't turn black.
The effect of this poison is unknown but it is sure that this will not kill a human. But then if he has to use it on the monster, he hopes that it will kill since the monster could hunt him if they are out of effect too early.
