Chapter 17: Hidden Inventory I

At an unknown location and time, two people were having a conversation under a pink tree. They had a table in front of them while drinking the tea. Their appearance unnoticeable as the shadow from the tree made it impossible to distinguish any traits.

"When do you think it started?" An old man asked filling his tea cup with a dark orange tea. "That all so encompassing event 'changed' the way you viewed the world."

The other man in front of him sighed and looked down to his hand grasping it tightly. "It's not like it changed that much and isn't it obvious?" The sun illuminating his face.

Showing a man in his mid-twenties. Fair skinned and a good outlined face. His right eye was green and sparkled in the shining light and his pupils were slit like that of an eagle. His blue hair was swaying from the wind like leaves on a tree.

"The 22nd August, 2006. What do you think happened then?"

It was the first day of the month August. Summer was about to finish to everyone's disappointment and curse spirits were beginning to rise up quickly.

In a particular mansion within the city of Hamamatsu.

There were two women who were in a hallway. These two were Mei Mei a second year first grade sorcerer and Iori Utahime, a third year second grade sorcerer.

She had her hair in two pigtails and wore a traditional miko outfit with a white colored top and a red colored bottom, along with brown colored boots.

"Damn. How far does this hallway go?" Utahime said as she looked at the never ending hallway.

Looking at her watch, Mei determined the time. "I'd say we've moved about 15km in 30 minutes."

"I don't see any of the markers we left."

Right now, they were trapped in an endless cycle of walking through the hallway yet never reaching anything.

Analyzing everything that happened, it was a domain that had a set of rules that one had to abide to. Mei who saw this quickly concluded. "In that case, the cursed spirit isn't using a barrier that creates a loop in the mansion. It keeps overlapping space as we move forwards."

"Or it's a ridiculously huge barrier." Utahime commented to the side.

"Probably not since it isn't even a first grade." Mei said as she walked to the wall and tapped it. When she did, it made a sort of ripple effect that spread throughout the wall. "These walls seem impenetrable as well. Let's split up."

"The overlapping theory is the most probable one. Let's split up and move unpredictably. If the curse spirit's barrier can't keep up then one of us should be able to get out. Then we'd be able to attack from the outside or ask for backup."

Looking through the options, this was the only way. "Sounds good. Let's do it." Mei said this but then the walls around them began cracking until the building they were in was completely destroyed by a powerful attractive force.

Admist the rubble, Utahime was on the ground as she held her head. "I came to save you..." She heard a voice to which she looked up only to scowl. "Utahime!" It was Gojo with his signature mocking smile.

"You cryin'?"

She screamed at him as a tick appeared on her. "I'm not crying!! Also respect your elders!"

Appearing beside him was Mei as she walked towards him without a scratch on her. "If I cry will you console me? I wouldn't say no to that."

"You wouldn't cry. You're strong." Hearing this, she giggled a bit.

Utahime who heard this interaction got even angrier. "Gojo! I didn't ask for your-" Behind her, the curse spirit they had been hunting down arose from the rubble.

But as it was about to bite her head off.

"Slow down." A voice was heard by everyone yet only the curse obeyed its order as it did as told. Another curse spirit then emerged swallowing its entire body.

Someone else walked towards the group.

"Stop bullying the weak, Gojo." It was Geto who waved his hand as his curse spirit went underground with its mouth still filled with the other.

"Pfft! You're the one who's bullying her." Geto looked to his side only to see Utahime glaring at him angrily.

Someone else arrived on the scene and it was Shoko. "Utahime. You okay?"

"Shoko!" She screamed gleefully. "I'm so glad you're here! Don't ever become like them."

"Haha! I won't ever become like those piece of trash."

Arai arrived behind them. "Yeah just ignore the underclassman. Not like he wanted any healing after saving his senior. Just let the guy bleed to death." He said sarcastically as he had blood come out of his mouth.

"Why the hell do you always get hurt?" Shoko smirked. "I always have to heal you in the infirmary."

"Well apparently my seniors keep bullying me making me lose my motivation so I got weak. Especially this annoying girl named Shoko."

"Nah. That's only a rumor. I heard she's the nicest and most beautiful girl in school."

"Pff! Yeah right. Mei is the number one from this school. You're a joke compared to her."

"Blue haired people grouping up huh. But before talking about my appearance you should look at yours. You look like you got stomped by a hoard of horses."

"*Whistle* They're going at it."

"Seems like it. Thanks for the compliment Arai. Anyway, were you the one who put the veil?"

Arai stretched his arms as he felt the pain hitting him. "I am which by the way made me use even more curse energy. And I don't even have that much. I need some care. Would you like to take care for me Mei?"

"Stop complaining. I'm healing your right now." Ieiri smacked Arai's head in the back.

Back at school, they were sitting at their desk and waited for Yaga to come. Mei and Utahime were gone as they had their own business.

"Urgh! COME OONN!! It isn't my fault." Gojo complained.

"It is. We have to put these curtains to protect the weak." Geto retorted. He always had this ideal of his that the strong should protect the weak. In this case, it was the sorcerers that had to protect non-sorcerers.

Whether that'd be from curse spirits or curse users.

"Weak? Why should we protect them?" On the other hand, Gojo had a very different outlook. He saw strength as necessary to live the life he wanted. Without it, one could never reach their goals.

Both ideals clashing with each other yet they both had the same title. 'The World's Strongest'. Together, they could do anything they wanted. Despite having contradicting ideals, they respected one another.

Meanwhile, with Arai and Shoko.

Shoko and Arai were watching the show. Pulling popcorn out of nowhere she offered it to him as he declined. Instead, something came first. "Can I try on the glasses?"

It was Gojo's glasses. "Sure, go ahead."

"Oh wow, its so dark. How does he even see with these?"

But turning back to the pair of special grades. They weren't having the friendliest of conversation. Tension could be felt as Gojo spoke.

"Applying reasoning and responsibility to jujutsu is what the weak would do."

""Oh no."" Both felt it. The danger of being next to them. Last time this happened, a couple of rooms had to be remade. Only good thing that came out of it was Gojo spending money.

Looking at each other. They both knew what to do.

"I'm out."

"Yep."

Just like that they left the stage to the other performers.

"So this is Okinawa, the air feels as fresh as in the woods." Arai commented as he smelled the air. He was at the airport of Okinawa with his team, Nanami and Haibara.

Right now, they had been called to assist Gojo and Suguru on their mission.

The mission was to protect a girl by the name of Riko Amanai, 'The Star Plasma Vessel' and escort her to a man named Tengen. Tengen is a man with an immortality innate technique but the problem was that he needed another person, a vessel, to remain human because he will ascend and become a being on another plane of existence.

And the problem was that if he does become that then he'll maybe become an enemy of humanity. It occurs every 500 years so it is rare for it to happen but it is a very an important task.

Right now the problem was escorting Riko, she was being targeted by two groups.

The terrorist Curse User Group 'Q'.

And a group that worships Tengen as a God named 'Time Vessel Association'.

They needed to protect Riko from any harm and escort her to Tengen.

"I still don't think this is an appropriate mission for first years." Nanami complained.

"Well... I wanna show Geto what I've got. Besides our senpais are putting their life on the line to save an innocent girl. We'll have to do our part." Haibara tried to cheer him up.

Arai who heard this sighed. "I think you just want Geto to acknowledge you. You've gotten closer to him now that I think about it."

"Of course! He's always nice to me. Why not show him my kindness?"

"I think anyone can tell you're kind but whatever. We're tasked with protecting the airport so let's just-"

*Ring!*

Their conversation was interrupted as Arai received a call. He took out his flip phone and saw the caller was Gojo.

Picking up the call, Gojo said something to him that the others couldn't hear.

"Eh? Are you serious. No we won't- and he just hung up." The others could see that Arai was upset but ultimately gave in.

"What did he say?" Haibara asked.

Arai put away his phone. "We'll have to stay here a bit longer. That damn Gojo. Does he think everyone has a near exhaustible amount of energy like him?"

"Hey don't worry! Let's just do our part, we've got to protect the airport, right? Gojo and Geto senpai are doing all of this to protect an innocent girl. Let's do our best too!" Haibara made a thumbs up while Nanami was wondering whether Gojo was really taking this seriously.

{Gojo was not taking this seriously.}
