Chapter 2: Code two: Oh great, another Isekai...

I should probably explain myself for the last chapter...

So basically, if you have ever watched an anime... or just a read a webnovel, you can guess that this is a isekai story. If you don't know what that is, I'll cut it short by explaining my story...

They main premise of an isekai is that the main character is transported to another world by inexpiable circumstances, usually by dying and being reincarnated as a being with nonsensical powers or straight up summoned to a world the main character may not understand. In my scenario, I didn't look left or right when crossing the road and I got my shit wrecked by a jack-ass truck and the world that I ended up in was a dating sim that I... think I remember working on with my friends?

I can't remember much of my previous life, because the moment I entered this world, I inherited the MC's life, behaviour and memories...even his PTSD over his parents' abusive nature which I can't go over in detail since the most important highlights seemed to have been repressed. Either way, everything the MC's has lived through now overshadows what I have lived through with the except of my name, my age, my involvement of this dating sim's creation, specific plot elements that I'm hoping you viewers saw in the last chapter and that it had massive virus that my friends and I were trying to sort out...

And the fact that I died is important too... I guess...

On that note, I have always wondered to myself...Is this just my version of the afterlife? Where going to heaven or hell is dependent on how much I fuck up? am I already in hell? Where I am destined to be a 3rd year student who may or may not be as young as he implies to be until the end of time? Or did I survive this entire time and I'm just in a coma? Where failing to find the secrets of this world is the equivalent to walking towards light?

But that's not important right now! What matter's is Jessica's dumb face and the fact that she never realised my self awareness like the dumb bitch is...

Geez, I have no idea why I hate Jessica...it's probably due to the fact that now that I have taken over as the MC of the game and I came in with the knowledge of Jessica being the sole reason why the rest of the girls either had or will have mental issues, my tolerance for her has been adjusted automatically by the game. Then again, it could just be because Jessica reminds of Regina George from mean girls...and Regina George from mean girls is a bitch!

How I remember a movie that can't be less than a year younger than I am but not the majority of my life is a question I will not answer...

"Me being the club president makes it so that I'm aware of any changes to the game that it's AI made or just tell me to sort out the mess out!" Jessica explained, "That being said, every time a NPC came close to being self-aware or smarter than they should be, the AI either reprograms them on the spot or gets me to delete their files, so it can then program a new NPC from the ground up!"

I took a double take before I got the chance to mock Jessica... An AI? In a dating sim? I know that at worst that this game is rips off that Salvato game from a while ago, but did my friends and I really go that far into copying it by implementing an AI? Or is this just a plot point like the original game intended? Probably just overreacting...

"So again...I ask you!" Jessica was still continuing, not noticing that my mind was else where, "How in the fuck did figure out this is a game?!"

I struggled to figure what to say to her at first, looking for something that makes sense but still believable, but I couldn't think of anything besides the truth. "Would you believe that I summoned here after a fateful encounter with a truck?"

It was clear that Jessica did not believe me with how she let out a bitchy scoff at my expense. But after a couple moments between us, Jessica's cocky face adjusted into realisation, and then shock. Probably just found out that she's a computer file with the power of a borderline god within a video game designed to simulate the concept of romance, therefore, me dying and ending up in said video game is not too far fetch...

"But that can't be possible!" Jessica argued, "When people die they...they just die! Maybe there is a heaven or hell, but this... this this isn't possible!"

"Yeah, for all I know, I am dead and being inside this game is my hell," I informed her, "But that's not important! Do you know the people that worked on this game?"

Jessica took a moment to think, "I only remember their first names...Jack, Bailey and Harvey,"

Damn...so either I'm of these three and I was never Jacob Asebe this entire time or my memories are a lie...

"R-right," Of course I stumble over my words after that revelation, "Basically, my memories have been fuzzy since I got here... like the MC's backstory has been...uploaded to my brain and it's taking up storage. I knew a quite a lot about this game before coming here and I know the latest update had an a virus...trying to stop that virus may be the only way to find my memories"

I hated that I gave such a info dump on Jessica, but I needed to give her something, without giving her everything. If she's this hostile about me being sentient and if this AI fiasco isn't just a plot element in the game, I hate to figure out what would happen if me being involved in the games creation get's out

"When you say a lot...do you like...know the plot?" Jessica is stumbling on her words too...that's fair, she may be a bunch of ones and zeros, but she's still a simulation of a human

"As the MC, the plan is to play the game as intended, a dating sim," I explain to her, "but I also stay wary of the girl with the ability to delete characters to have her way,"

"How did you figure out that girl was me, though?"

Shiiiit...how do I tell her that without giving my involvement with this game's creation?

"I played Doki Doki literature club..."

Fuckin' nailed it...

"I...still don't understand, Jacob" Jessica admitted, much to my well deserved chagrin, "If that really is your reason...then you know you're not in position when you can just leave! I can delete you just like the others for things even less than all this info!"

Surprisingly... Jessica had a sad expression on her face

"Why would you want to tell me this?"

In the last chapter, when I describe Jessica's beauty it has because I was making fun of the typical trope. The awkward moment when either your crush or the prettiest girl in your schools comes walking by and choir plays whilst cartoon hearts and nude winged babies start surrounding her... That was the moment I was making fun off...

But this moment...as of right now...I couldn't. As strong as the hatred for her is due to the both my knowledge and the MC's character being one, I couldn't bare someone like Jessica being this upset for something out of her control.

Jessica Lunar...really is the most beautiful girl I've seen

"Because I believe you're the only person who can help me" I told her. I grabbed her by the arms her pull her close, hugging her before counting, "The MC's memories of you, Jessica, he's... I'm inspired by you. You're the smartest girl in the whole school and you have always done what's best for everyone out of sheer instinct alone...I don't know if I can do it on my own..."

I could hear Jessica sniffling as she tightened her grip on my chest

"W-why not...Sora?" She pondered while crying, "I could just easy her into being the club leader and--"

"Remember when I said you're the smartest girl in the whole school?"

I hugged Jessica tighter. She really is the only one that I know that can help me, my memories can't work simply because the MC's memories are in the way. But if Jessica can help me along the way, things should be able to come back to me. It doesn't matter if I'm in a coma or in hell... I want to be...free

"No..."

No?

"Jessica...?"

"No....no....no..."

Jessica pushed me away and staggered back with hands on her head, still mumbling no, over and over again. I try to reach out only to notice that in the hall were in started to crack, revealing slithers of various green symbols scrolled up and down within a dark void. I was hoping this wouldn't happen. She's breaking the game...

"NOOOO!"

The world around us dissipated, the scrolls surrounded us as the noting but the void remained.

"Jacob Ejiro Asebe" Jessica spoke my name in with a robotic echo, "What you believe to be a virus is not real. There is only the Eye Of The Father. The AI of this game. The God of this world"

I try to reach out to Jessica, but not even a speck of sound was possible to produce as I trembled in fear for what would happen next. It seems that Jessica has fully embraced the "computer" part of her computer file. I know not what she will do, but I prayed to every God I knew that I was not deleted.

"I cannot delete you...but I cannot allow you to go any further,"

Wait... she can't be--?!

"The Code Of the Script... must progress!"

Jessica! Please! Don't!

"Eight, eight, one, six, four, zero, four..."

That code!

"Restart game"

I remember---
