Chapter 8: Picnic in Sinnoh

Adya "Morning."

Julia "It's already evening young lady. Go and freshen up. Your grandpa and grandma are eager to meet you."

Adya goes with Julia and had a quick bath. Both of them then went to meet Haden's father and mother.

----------------------------------------------------------

Julia "Here she is, mom."

Grandma "Oh you have grown a lot since I last saw you. Come give me a hug."

Adya is pulled by her grandma in a hug then she was made to sit in her grandma's lap.

Grandpa "You may have forgotten since we met you when you were just a month old. You can call me grandfather or grandpa, anything you like."

Adya "Hello! Grandpa and Grandma."

Grandpa/Grandma "Hello dear."

Adya "Nice to meet you."

Julia "You talk with your father and mother, I have to go prepare for dinner."

Julia leaves to prepare for the dinner while leaving Adya to accompany the old couple.

Grandma "So how was your fourth birthday?"

Adya spends the rest of her evening with her grandparents till the dinner was ready. Adya told them about her fourth birthday, the friendly villagers and the gifts she got. She also told them about the enormous egg but like her parents lied that she found it in the backyard.

Her grandparents listen through Adya's detailed explanations and laughed at seeing Adya explain the details of the egg with such enthusiasm.

Grandpa "Oh! Wonder of being young."

Adya "Did you say something, Grandpa?"

Grandpa "Nothing dear. "

Grandma "It's getting late, it's time for Adya to have dinner."

Julia "Dinner is ready everyone."

Grandma "Tell me about the going ons in Kalos region."

Julia "Sure mom, let me put Adya to sleep first."

Adya then eats her dinner and brushes her teeth. Julia makes sure that Adya hits the bed, she then leaves switching off the lights. Adya before closing her eyes makes sure that she carefully wipes the egg from the incubator.

Next morning

-----------------------------------------------------------------

The beautiful sunrise in Sinnoh dyes the Mount Cornet in a soft orange hue. In the Twinleaf town, a small boy with stale gray hair holding his mother's right hand while a small girl with blue-gray hair holds the left hand. They walk towards the local lake while carrying a small basket with packed breakfast.

??? "Now, Lucas don't disturb him when he is in work. You can ask as many questions as you want about Pokémon, but after his work is done."

Lucas "I will not disturb him during work. Did dad also came with him?"

??? "Yup, he is also eager to meet you."

??? "Is he also waiting for me?"

??? "Yup, he is also waiting for you Dawn."

Dawn "Let's hurry, you slowbro!"

While running Lucas replies "Wait, you Psyduck."

Both of the twins ran down the road while their mother walks behind them.

??? "This two!"

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Adya "Are we there yet?"

Julia "No."

Adya "Then carry me please. I am sure my legs will fall off."

Haden "We are finally here."

Adya with her parents and grandparents had finally reached the local lake near the Twinleaf town.

Haden "Adya today you will meet the person that inspired me to become a researcher. He is the famous Pokémon professor from the Sinnoh region."

As Haden speaks about the man they are here to meet, a 60ish year old man comes to greet them with a young woman and a pair of four-year-olds.

Haden "Speak of the devil, he is here Rowan Oak."

Rowan "You haven't changed young man. HA! HA! HA!"

Haden "Always a pleasure to see you, sir."

Rowan "How's the life treating you?"

Haden "It's treating me good. I even have a beautiful daughter with Julia."

Rowan "Nice. Meet my daughter-in-law Johanna and my grandkids Dawn and Lucas."

Haden "Hello! I'm Haden, an old friend of Rei's. She is my wife, Julia, and our daughter Adya."

Johanna "ha! ha! Rei had told me about you."

Rowan "Rei is on his way from Sandgem Town. So, how is your research coming along."

Haden "We have compiled enough data in Kalos, we just need it to match with the data from the other regions. It's just that the dragon clan are being a nuisance."

Rowan "A typing that takes no damage from dragons, sure dragon tamers are a bit riled up."

Haden "So, how is your research on Pokémon evolutions going."

Rowan " *sigh* Every day a new discovery invalidates the previous assumptions and theories. Pokémon from the no-man's lands from each region are too strong to be tamed by a fresh out trainers. Even if somebody caught them, we don't know of specific conditions for these Pokémon. A few years ago, we found a variant of Growlithe line in the Sinnoh's no-man's lands. It is a fire/rock type Pokémon found near the volcanic areas. This Pokémon adapted and evolved to survive in the wild, outside of human's influence. Though it takes a long time to form partnership with this ancient Sinnoh variant, it is powerful than the normal variant Growlithe in the same stage. Oh boy, and the Pokémon Kleavor, we are unable to find what makes it evolve from a Scyther. I was researching if only Scyther from this part can evolve in Kleavor or other Scyther from any other part can evolve into a Kleavor. There are no records about it and no mention in what we perceive as our history. It is as if someone had specially removed every record about the Pokémon from the annals of history. The Legendaries depicted in these ruins intrigue me whether they have an evolution line or not. From my data it seems as if they don't have any evolutionary stages, this brings me to question whether the evolution is due to a need for strength or to better accommodate according to the surroundings. Not every Pokémon has an evolutionary stage and not every Pokémon need to evolve to complete their life-cycle."

Haden "It is very hard to determine about the Pokémon with them distributed around the globe, some regions with whom we have no contact with. It is hard as it is to gather every detail about the Pokémon in the few regions we already know. Trainers also tends to ignore some Pokémon based on its appearances and typings. These common Pokémon that they tend to ignore may have a hidden strong evolution. As a researcher, my first ever mystery was the statue in Eternal City. Like this many other statues of Pokémon in the ruins around Sinnoh tells us about a distant and vibrant past but alas all lost. My wife during her time as an archaeologist, found about a Pokémon named Arceus from a small clan near Mount Cornet. Though I am unsure of its existence or whether the Eterna statue is Arceus or not I don't know."

Julia "I learned about Arceus when I was lost in foothills near Mount Cornet. This small clan's clansmen avoids any contact with an outsider vehemently. Though they avoid contact they help the lost travellers if they came in contact but refuses to let anyone enter their village."

Johanna "Interesting, they may be one of the hidden clans. So, did you sneak into their village to learn or did they let you enter the village? As far as I know they are pretty recluse."

Julia "No, the village guards were ready to attack if I ever tried to enter their village. I was about to turn around and leave when the old village priestess asked me or rather I was forced to accompany her to the shrine in the village. She was mumbling about some troubled times that are coming and when I asked more all she said to me is that it is best for me to not know. She then goes on and on about some guardians will come and bring order to chaos. And then when I asked about the guardians, she again said to me that it is best for me to not know. So I thought she was wasting my time and me being young, I challenged her to a Pokémon battle. She ignored me and then began telling me myths passed down in their villages. But the way she kept trolling me made me angry. With Weavile, Abomasnow, Noctowl and Togekiss, I was sure I could sweep her team and well."

Johanna "That's a solid team, so did you win?"

Julia "Nah, that old lady's Magmortar one-shots my entire team. And I didn't know Magmar could evolve again. At least she gave me a necklace saying it will protect me. I don't know why she said to pass it to my firstborn. That was the last time I met that creepy old lady."

Johanna "Then that old lady is very strong. I imagine her and Magmortar's aura bond must be very strong."

Julia "Yeah, it was stronger them my and my Pokémon's."

Johanna "Let sit and talk while we have lunch, it will be late waiting for Rei."

Then everyone proceeds to sit carefully in the blanket placed in the lake shore. The three kids sat together but were hesitating to be the first one to speak. While everyone was preparing for lunch, a Gastly was observing them from the shadows in the treetops.
