Chapter 2: Being Death.

*TLDR Basically a story of Saltor actually being an angel, if you don't wanna read this you can skip ahead. This doesn't really impact the story! Only stop skiping when you see a DO NOT SKIP thing!*

"It seems you have arrived." A being in white greeted a man on the floor.

"Are you death?"

"You can call me that, but it's not true."

"Are you God..Buddha, Allah?"

"Neither, i'm just the one who leads you." The being said as the man followed him.

"Where am I going?"

"That depends."

A silence lingered for a while.

"How long it this going to take?" The man asked.

"How much you want it to take."

..

"...You know, would my wife be sad about my death?"

"That would be up to you to decide."

"Do I count as an evil person?"

There was no answer.

The man sighed. "It's to be expected. All I did was work and never once did pay attention to her. Atleast she'll be able to live her life freely now."

"...Would you be sad if an acquaintance died?" The being spoke again.

"Well I would, but I will get over it. I wasn't that close to acquaintances."

"Would you call your wife an acquaintance?"

The man fell silent. The being stopped.

"This is where they will decide where you go. To go in or wait is up to you." The being turned around and left.

"Will I reincarnate and lose my memories?"

"...Who knows?" The being disappeared.

The man sat there in thought. He should've been a better husband, a father, and a person. He schemed to get what he wanted, and he back stabbed multiple people to get his wishes. He had lived his life as a corrupt politician.

"I wan't to go back."

...

"I wan't to be a better person for society."

...

The man stepped into the portal, and there was a bright light.

---

Beep...Beep.....A beeping sound was heard in the dark. The man opened his eyes to see his beautiful wife, crying in relief.

"You're alive....You're alive!" The woman cried tears of joy as she clutched his weak hand.

"Yes....My beautiful..." The man consoled his crying wife.

....

.....

DON"T SKIP THIS PART

...

"I wonder, how many times have you died already." The being was staring at a handsome man sitting on the floor.

"...It doesn't matter. I saved my friends." The man hung his head.

"They 'were' your friends, but you will go back into time...and you guys will become strangers. Your sacrifice was for nothing."

The regresser stayed silent.

"He will only keep making you go back into time. Just achieve his goals." The being sat down on an imaginary chair.

"In order to achieve his goals, everyone will have to die."

"It is certainly better then reliving the same pain over and over again."

"..."

The being sighed. "It's no use in resisting, you're just going to-

"I know. I'll just go back into time. You've said this countless times."

"...Come, we have to start your new attempt." The being stood up.

"Can't I stay here forever?" The regresser and the being knew it was a foolish question. Nonetheless, the being replied.

"You'll only be a burden to me." The being walked towards the portal.

"...Do you know what I learned because of the regressions?" The regresser's black eyes stared at the being.

"..What?"

"Certain items can forcibly chain a soul with something else." The regresser held up an old and powerful looking talisman, causing the being to widen his eyes.

"Those symbols...?! You'll be punished by the heavens if you do that-!" The being stepped back.

"Why should I care?! It's not like i'm going to die right?! Come, and suffer with me!" The regresser laughed crazily as a chain formed around the being.

"You crazy bastard!" The being clenched his fists. His yellow eyes glinted in hatred.

"Hah, your elegant mask has broken dear angel..." The regresser hopped through the portal, pulling the struggling being with him.

---

"Arugh...." The being felt disgust as he found himself in a cave. It has been a long time since he visited the mortal realm. He rubbed the dirt off his clothes as he looked around.

He peered out of the cave and saw crumbling buildings, and a basically fallen world. It seems the regresser used to live here.

He tried to use his powers, but as expected...it was locked.

"Error, 95% of power has been sealed. Please unseal before usage." A dull voice greeted him.

Saltor murmured, "That's strange...I shouldn't be counted as a native to this world..." He would have to report this to the higher ups later. The system only applied for the mortals right?

Saltor grabbed a broken mirror not far from him. Saltor held in carefully as there was quite an amount of dried blood on it.

Even though Saltor's power was sealed, it seems his beauty and aura was still there.

Thus, he used abit of his powers to create a white mask that covered his face. Instantly, his aura disappeared and he seemed like a normal mortal.

"That damn regresser...." Saltor silently cursed.

...

Judging based on the surroundings, it seemed the common "Evil monsters invade modern world." scenario happened here. If he wasn't wrong, that would mean that they were still doing the beginning phase.

The beginning phase would transport all the people in the world and let them pick 1 out of 3 powers. Then, they would be released to fight against the upcoming monsters.

The monsters must have passed through while everyone was at the beginning phase..

Suddenly, a woman appeared on the street. Then another, and then a man appeared. Many people started appearing slowly. The empty street was bustling with people now, most of them were scared even though the beginning phase should have explained it to them.

Saltor was still very uncomfortable. He had never personally stepped into a human world like this.

---

After all the ruckes was calmed down, a man started speaking.

"Hello? Can everyone hear me?" The man asked. Saltor recognized the skill, "Voice amplification." He murmured.

"I'm sure all of you are confused as much as I am, but we can't just stay here panicking all day just waiting for the monsters at night to attack us!" His words seemed to knock some sense into the panicking hoard.

Pretty soon, people banded together to set up a makeshift camp. From what Saltor heard from the chattering, he concluded a few things.

First thing, you earn coins by surviving and completing quests. You can use these coins to buy items, buy skills, or buff your attributes/already existing skills. Second thing, by imagining a store, a screen will pop up and you would be able to do all the things previously mentioned there. It seemed coins would run the world from then on.

Other then the people who already know each other, nobody seemed to be trying to interact with strangers. It didn't help that his mask made him stick out, but it was all he could do with most of his power sealed.
