Chapter 24: Tempest Wolves
'What are those things?' Aiden wondered as he encountered the same wolf pack from earlier.
"Inspection." Aiden whispered as he tried to see how his Inspection skill worked.

Species Skill: Howl - the leader of the species can summon all of his pack members with a howl and the pack can also summon the leader using the skill.
Description - A species of wolves which evolved from the species of Dire wolves. Have the lightning element as their main element. ]
'I can't check their stats?' Aiden asked the system since most system novels he had read showed the stats of the enemies.
< No host, of course, you can't see the stats of the people you use inspect on. Also, the inspect skill will work differently on other people. > The system replied as Aiden sighed.
'That's all right I guess.' Aiden replied as he focused on the wolves.
He still hadn't bought the Shadow Walk skill and was wondering what the skill was.
'System, show the details of the skill.' Aiden decided to ask the system about the skill as he kept an eye on the group of wolves.

'What does non-upgradable exactly mean? I can't include its range or reduce its cost?' Aiden asked while checking the details as he saw the wolves suddenly getting ready to move.
< Non-upgradable skills are those skills that don't evolve into new things. You can still increase their efficiency and thus increase their range by rapidly using them. But remember that they won't change into a new and upgraded skill. > The system replied as Aiden decided to attack the wolves.
But before doing that, he decided to check his elemental energy.

'My elemental energy is still pretty low. I should take this chance to grind some exp by killing monsters but there's a chance that I might get trapped. Maybe I should but this skill in case I ever got trapped.' After debating over it for a while, Aiden decided to buy the shadow walk skill.
"Now, let's start grinding." Aiden said out loud with a small smile as he took out the shadow dagger from his clothes.
He used shadow manipulation to make the dagger float in the air before he aimed it forward and threw it.
He made the dagger light enough so that it could travel through the air quicker but when it was about to reach near a wolf, he increased its weight and sharpness by many folds.
The dagger cut through the wolf's skin and embedded itself in the ground as the wolf fell down.

"One down, six more to go." Aiden muttered as he decided to keep himself hidden since the wolves were now extremely alert.
Their leader, the biggest wolf in the pack, barked a few orders as the wolves formed a circle around the leader.
The leader closed its eyes in concentration as its ears started to flicker.
'Uh system, do monsters also have skills and abilities here?' Aiden decided to ask the system since he was having a bad feeling about the leader closing its eyes in concentration.
< Of course host, the monsters in this world also have skills and abilities. > The system's words confirmed Aiden's theory as the leader suddenly opened its eyes and directly stared where Aiden was hiding.
"Aooooo!" The wolf howled loudly as the five other wolves started running towards the bushes Aiden was hiding in.
'Damn it! This would be risky but I have a chance of defeating them if I get that dagger." Aiden thought as he looked at the dagger stuck in the ground.
Plenty of Shadows were visible around the knife since there were many trees and bushes around Aiden and the wolves.
He decided to take a risk as he moved a little to the left before using his newly obtained skill.
"Shadow Walk." Aiden whispered as he looked at the shadow closest to the dagger and he suddenly popped up there.
The leader of the pack was right beside him but he hadn't expected Aiden to suddenly appear forward so he couldn't react on time.
Aiden quickly pulled the knife towards him using Shadow Manipulation. He then used Shadow Walk to pull back again as the wolves weren't able to find him.
Though this wouldn't last for long.

Aiden still had plenty of elemental energy left so he decided to create another weapon to help himself.
'Since the system said that I will receive infinite arrows with a bow, I should definitely create a bow.' Aiden thought but before he could make a bow, the system interrupted him.
< It will cost you 100 elemental energy to create a bow and arrows host. This is because of the infinite arrows' benefit. Do you still want to create the weapon host? > The system asked as Aiden nodded.
The double amount of elemental energy required was worth it since Aiden could use infinite arrows.
He put the knife back inside his jacket as a bow appeared in his hands. A quiver also appeared on his back as he took out an arrow and aimed it towards the bushes where the wolves were currently looking for him at.
He used shadow manipulation to fix the aim while he adjusted the weight and height of the bow according to his body.
He then pulled the string back and let go of the arrow as it zoomed through the air and went towards the wolves.
Aiden increased its sharpness and weight the second it got a little closer and the arrow pierced a wolf to its death.

Another wolf fell down as Aiden sighed and used his shadow walk skill to vanish again.
He finally had hopes of winning but chills suddenly appeared on his back as the leader closed his eyes and released an ear-deafening roar.
The wolf's eyes started glowing and it glanced in Aiden's direction with a bloodthirsty glare.
