Chapter 22: Vol. 1: Chp. 22 The Dragon's Awakening
It is currently late at night in Buruan, people can be seen walking home from work, closing up shops, and warriors can be seen switching shifts. A familiar occurrence can be seen happening at the Nozomu residence, the front door could be seen getting opened, then gently getting closed. Sounds of heavy footsteps then followed. The footsteps trailed all the way to Nozomu's bedroom, opening the bedroom door, then walking in.
The owner of the heavy footsteps then took off their shoes and walked over to a bed with a thick white blanket covering it, lifting that blanket-- the person crawled into the bed. With their mind succumbing to the sweet release of sleeping, they instantly passed out. This man is Kaminari Nozomu.
Shortly after falling asleep, Nozomu opened his eyes. Looking around, he noticed that everything was dark, empty, and cold. Nozomu then looked down and noticed that he was standing on stone ground, the ground seemingly being the only thing that's visible in this abyss.
A bright blue light then shined, nearly blinding Nozomu, making him slightly look away by instinct. With Nozomu attempting to glance at what was happening in front of him, now looking in front of him, Nozomu noticed that lightning slowly started to spark around the light.
The blue light then started to grow, the lightning following along with it. The bigger the light got, the more of an animalistic shape took place. First, giant blue legs with claws at the bottom had formed, the lightning seemingly finalizing the area. Then the belly of the animalistic figure started to form, flowing up from the belly, a neck started to form at the top of the figure's newly formed animalistic torso.
The head then started to appear, making Nozomu's eyes widen a little. The finished product of the figure attained four long legs attaining claws, a long tail hanging off of the rear, including scales blanketing the figure. The figure also attained a head-
The head of a dragon.
Nozomu remained still as ever, waiting for something to proceed. Shortly after the dragon-like animal appeared, the glow dimmed immensely, the shocking fact was, the figure was massive. Nozomu couldn't even see every spot of the animal figure due to its size, only the underside, up to the front of the animal figure's face that was leering downwards at Nozomu.
The animal figure then opened its massive mouth, showcasing all of its razor-sharp teeth. All Nozomu did in response was give a light smile and question-
"How was your sleep, Kanden?"

Still remaining in the dark abyss, the animal figure named Kanden continued to peer down at Nozomu, then finally responded, "THAT'S ALL YOU HAVE TO SAY!?" Well, 'roared' in response, making Nozomu slightly wince in pain.
"I thought we agreed on no yelling." Nozomu plainly disciplined, making the giant creature huff in annoyance,
"Well, it's good to see you haven't changed." Kanden states,
"Considering that I've had a dragon in me since I was a child, I don't know what about me was supposed to change after that. Besides getting stronger, I could only accept things for how they were." Explained Nozomu,
The dragon could only sit in its own swallowing silence, not sure how to respond. "I guess you're right, there isn't much that's more surprising in life than a dragon living in you." Kanden then acknowledged,
"Anyways, why are you awake. You've been asleep for years, what made you come out?" Nozomu questioned, tilting his head slightly.
The dragon then seemingly remembered why he was present in the first place, with the dragon closing his eyes, he responded, "It was Moeru, you came into contact with his vessel, didn't you?"
Nozomu then remembered when the invasion at the academy happened, running into Imawashiki must've made Kanden awaken and return.
"I ran into Imawashiki not too long ago, I also ran into another Tansu member-- Reberu Manabu," Nozomu informed, making the dragon nod his head.
"I wasn't aware of Kesseki's vessel, but your interaction with Imawashiki was what startled me. Our last meetup didn't end well for either of us and with me asleep, you can't maintain any dragon forms." Kanden explained,
"Some more bad news is that he's most likely going to target us now, he was already after Manabu. Knowing that I'm here as well, I might be included in whatever he was planning." Nozomu further informed the Kanden of the recent events.
"I really hoped that when you stopped serving Oritsu, that you'd finally take life slowly." The dragon huffed, slightly irritated at the news he received.
After having a blank period in their conversation, allowing silence to take place between them, Kanden then spoke up once again, "well then, why don't you catch me up with what you've been doing?"

Short chapter, but still informational. I intend to cover this more, but I had to cut this short. We learned about how Nozomu has a dragon residing within him, alongside a creature also living in Imawashiki and Ms. Manabu
