Chapter 270: The Ability of a Polymath

Based on the knowledge infused into him by the Polymath potion, Ebner simply tested his powers and had a general understanding of his Sequence 6 Beyonder powers.

Firstly, after becoming a Polymath, the core "Analysis" ability had essentially been enhanced.

Previously, the "Analysis" of the Knowledge Keeper stage was more about analysis based on existing knowledge or information. Although there were certain "Beyonder" characteristics, such as "Analyzing" a Beyonder's aura to obtain the corresponding information and so on, overall, it was more about inference, retrogression, and summarization… Of course, among ordinary people, unless one was a genius with extraordinary talent, the corresponding abilities couldn't be compared to a Knowledge Keeper.

However, as the "Analysis" function of the White Eye was abnormally powerful, Ebner had rarely used his own "Analysis."

As for the "Analysis" stage of a Polymath, with a certain level of knowledge prior to this, it was possible to analyze the principles behind the Beyonder powers used by the opponent. This was also one of the prerequisites for subsequent "learning" and "mimicking."

In addition, the enhanced "Analysis" could help the user quickly identify the Beyonder environment they were in, as well as their strengths and weaknesses.

The two abilities that came with these two abilities were actually often used when activating the White Eye. Exploring Spell Traps, analyzing the Sealed Artifact's effects, and negative effects were, strictly speaking, embodiments of these two abilities.

As for the principle of Analysis of Beyonder powers, there was no need to mention it. Ebner had used the White Eye's ability to draw skills from his friends and enemies.

In short, the "Analysis" ability of a Polymath was still overshadowed by the "Analysis" brought about by the White Eye. It didn't increase his strength much.

Secondly, the Polymath's potion changed changes his heart.

The modified heart is called the "Heart of Omnipotence" in the knowledge passed down from potions… The reason why it's called that is because it's one of the necessary conditions for the Reader pathway to go from omniscience to omnipotence.

To convert knowledge into power, one needed a certain foundation.

And the Heart of Omnipotence was the foundation of energy.

Through the knowledge infused in the potion, Ebner learned that, apart from expending his spirituality, he also had to bear the burden of the energy needed for his powers.

This was the effect of the Heart of Omnipotence.

Although a "Polymath" claimed that there was no limit to the number of simulated skills, it was actually limited by the amount of energy stored in the Heart of Omnipotence. It was similar to a "blue-path" mage in a game before the First Epoch.

However, the "simulation" I did with the White Eye doesn't seem to have such a restriction… No, actually, there is one. It's very difficult to successfully "simulate" powers involving one's physical attributes, such as the Werewolf's "Power," the Zombie's "Steel Skin," and so on… Perhaps it's due to the lack of energy!

With this in mind, Ebner immediately used the remaining power of the potion in the Heart of Omnipotence to "simulate" the powers of a Werewolf.

Speaking of which, he had long "analyzed" all of Maric's powers, but his "simulation" had never succeeded.

About three seconds later, the corners of Ebner's mouth twitched as he helplessly muttered to himself, "I did succeed, but it was just too draining… Although I just advanced, the amount of energy stored in the Omnipotent Heart isn't much…"

However, the success of the "Simulation" of the Werewolf made Ebner understand one thing. It wasn't that he didn't expend energy when using the White Eye to do the "Simulation," but that he didn't expend his own energy.

It might very well be a "simulation" that stirred the power of the outside world to complete!

That's why the ability to strengthen one's physical attributes can't be "simulated." This is because once I use it, I might not be able to afford the price…

Perhaps a simple outburst of strength can make me lie in bed for a month or two.

As this thought crossed his mind, Ebner took out the snacks prepared by Mrs. Reskard in the bedroom and ate them in a few bites. Only then did he feel a little less hungry.

So the energy stored in the Heart of Omnipotence can be replenished with food… Heh heh, that's good too. At least I don't have to worry about getting fat from eating supper in the future…

After a few self-deprecating words, Ebner composed himself and continued pondering over the other abilities of a Polymath.

The third power of a Polymath is "studying."

This "learning" ability wasn't general knowledge, but a "learning space" that was specially meant for analyzing, researching Beyonder powers, and ritualistic magic.

As long as a Polymath meditated on the form of the Thousand Technique Mirage Crystal, "His" mind could enter a space that seemed to contain countless stars.

In this space, a Polymath could "analyze" the observed powers, study the principles, and even attempt "simulation"…The efficiency was much higher than the outside world.

As for the stars, the bright stars were powers that he had already learned, while the illusory ones were powers that he had yet to fully "analyze" and was temporarily unable to replicate.

Ebner guessed that this illusory learning space was probably the embryonic form of the White Tower. The stars would sooner or later transform into "books" on the bookshelves… Together, they would form the "Mythical Form" after becoming a demigod.

Finally, it was also the trademark power of a Polymath, "Simulation," or "Imitation," so there was nothing much to say. After all, Ebner had often used this power with the White Eye, so he was very familiar with it.

Apart from these new powers, the other powers like Machinery Hivemind, Scene Rewind, and Aura Retrieval had also been significantly improved, but there were no qualitative changes.

After familiarizing himself with the powers of a Polymath, Ebner rested for a while before activating the White Eye.

Not bad. If I have enough spirituality, I can use the Eye of White for at least one to two hours. That's enough!

In addition, I can indeed "experience" the next Sequence's powers in advance… Hmm, under the situation of activating the White Eye, I can modify a portion of my Beyonder powers to make it meet the requirements of using it…

But for now, I can only reduce the effects of my powers…

However, this isn't a bad thing. The decrease in effects often implies a decrease in the usage conditions… For example, with a Traveler's Teleportation, if the effects are reduced to a fixed point, I can design a corresponding ritual that allows Low-Sequence Beyonders to use it…

"Of course, without a ready-made template, it would probably take a long time to create such a spell, even with the help of the learning space."

After silently muttering to himself, Ebner closed the White Eye.

Then, after he packed up the apparatus for the potion, he dispelled the wall of spirituality, opened the bedroom door, and went straight to the dining room at home.

From the looks of it, I'll have to get Mrs. Skade to prepare plenty of food in the future…

Perhaps it won't be long before I have the title of Foodaholic Detective…

Unable to make it down the stairs due to his hunger, he "glided" to the first floor and greeted Xio and Fors, who had stayed the night at the villa and were chatting in the hall, with a rueful smile.
