As soon as Luther arrived with a posse of vampires, their friend fussing over them caused the last of Esme's strength to evaporate, and she folded in on herself, feeling safe and secure and fell into a deep sleep. The she-wolf couldn't seem to escape from this comforting, warm, dark void; in her dreams, she was visited by Khaos.
