Chapter 2: Waking up
"Get up host it is time for your destiny." A loud voice permeated the area.
"Wha...Give me ten more minutes." Reaching to grab her blanket to cover herself, she found nothing to hold onto. 'Taking my blanket this early mom really?' She thought.
'Wait did something just call me host?' Snapping out of her sleeping position she could see that she was in a completely different place. 'Trees and grass? Where the hell am I?' Marie went pale. Nothing in her mind is good about waking up in the forest. Kidnapped? Isekaied? Getting drunk and waking up in a forest? None of these options were good.
"Hello?" Calling out for the voice she heard earlier she noticed something else scary. "Marie Marie ba ba" 'This is not my voice!' Realizing her voice is different she Examined her body she found a lot of differences. She now had pale white skin. Her limbs were now that of a child. Hair that was once brown now is a dark shade of black. Even the pajamas she was wearing have now been replaced by a Japanese-style robe.
*Hua Hua
Breathing rapidly she was rightfully freaking out. 'This is all a dream. Yes, I have been watching a bunch of isekai lately that's it.' Laying back down she planned on sleeping her troubles away.
"You can not escape destiny host. It is time to wake up." The voice just as enthusiastic as last time returned to stop her plan of sleeping through the dream.
"Yes, I can fuck you!" Covering her ears to drown out the voice was the best way she could think of to escape her situation.
"Unfortunately for you host, I am a part of you so you can not elude my beautiful voice."
"..." Not giving in she continued to try and sleep.
"Fine if you want to be stubborn about it I will use drastic measures." Said the system.
*ZZZZZZZ
"AHHHHHHH" Screaming out in pain Marie could feel an electric current running through her body. It moved with vicious intent, causing her muscles to convulse. She had never been tased or experienced being shocked to this extent so it was hard for her to deal with the pain. 'What the hell. If this is a dream I have some questions I need to ask myself. Am I secretly a sadist?' Shaking her head she felt no joy from what just happened.
Giving up she did not want to experience the shock again. "Fine! Tell me what is going on voice in my head."
"Well, that is better. Welcome to your new life. I am the system personally given to you by god. Born from your attitude towards life. God has made me to fix that attitude. So you can say you are pretty lucky."
"I don't want a new life return me!" Irritated Marie wanted nothing to do with whatever this was.
"There is no returning. You have only yourself to blame. Not being able to see past what other people had and appreciate your life lead you here. Do you think there are no consequences? Your first lesson is that life is unfair. That is something everybody has to deal with."
"What...about my mother?" The one person she loved more than anybody in her life. Always there to cheer her up. She was like a soft blanket after a hard day. The one thing she never wanted to do was cause her mother grief. It is mostly why she did not end her life.
"She was devastated by losing you. Fortunately, she continued to live on for your siblings. Eventually, she ended up getting remarried and had a pretty good life."
Relieved her mother did not lose herself in her grief, Marie still could not help but be sad. Tears streamed down her cheeks. The pain of losing somebody you love is heartbreaking. While Marie's mother did not die she can't imagine being able to see her again if this is another world. Never again will she be able to hear her tell her "good morning." No longer will she get texts from her mom asking how her day has been. It is all gone. Even if this is somehow the same world her body is different. She can run up to her and say "Hi I'm your dead daughter." If that worked there would still be some doubt in her mother's mind. All she can picture is her mom smiling. If she could pay all the money in the world to see it one more time she would.

Crying for more than 20 minutes Marie had finally calmed down. Although the pain still lingered she was able to accept the new reality. it's not like she could change it even if she wanted to. She is not stupid if a God wants to punish her who can do anything about it. She does not have Kratos on speed dial. She is a human nothing more.
"What is next then?" Asked Marie.
"Good you have calmed down. What next is I explain the situation you find yourself in. In your last life, you complained about not being talented. Welp, you have been provided one of the most talented body the system could find. The only limit to your success in this new world is how much work you are willing to put in. Thus you have been given the "Hard Work System."
'Hard Work System? This does not sound fun.' She thought.
Continuing the system did not seem to have to catch its breath. "The system works by giving you the knowledge and ability to achieve anything. Say for example you wanted to be the best runner in the world. The system will not enhance your body to make it the best but will provide the information to make you the best runner. You will get the knowledge and experience of the best of the best."
"And what would this knowledge cost me?" She asked. Marie was not a genius but it does not take one to know nothing is free. Either an emotional toll or monetary everything has a cost.
"Not completely stupid eh? The cost of knowledge can be met in several ways. First, you can pay for it with money. Second, if you can defeat and kill a person with what you want you may take one skill or ability from them. The system will not take body parts though. So if you want a body part that will have to be done by you."
Disregarding that last part Marie was stuck on the mention of murder. "Kill? Where the hell am I system!" Isekai is one thing but in a world where murder is like taking a walk in the park. terrifying is all she can think.
"Ah, did I not mention it my bad. You asked for it in your last life several times. "If I could be sent anywhere that is where I would like to be." God was inspired by that and thus granted you your wish. You are in the Naruto World."
*Applause sound.
Marie's eyes went wide. 'This can't be real. Naruto the bloodthirsty child soldier universe. I...I can't even remember when I last saw the show. When would I have said that? I must have been like 10 years old. "Fuck you system I said that when I was a kid!"
"Huh, that is unfortunate for you. Either way, this is where you are." The system clearly had no ability to feel sympathy for Marie.
Marie quickly tried to remember everything she could about the world she was in. 'No hope huh. Even if I just wanted to be a cook or something I would just be killed by a passing ronin or ninja. They thought of civilians like they were cattle to be used. "When am I system?" Marie knows the basic timeline of Naruto and when you are born is very important.
"You are three years before the second great ninja war." Said the system.
She was a little happy and sad at the same time. The second great ninja war was a time of great upheaval. But it provides plenty of opportunities. If she had a system dependent on killing then she had a pick of the littler for talented people to take from.
"Am I affiliated with a ninja village?" Marie asked.
"No, while you are a civilian of the land of fire. You are considered an outsider."
This was scary information for Marie. There was no way a village would accept her at this point. Not with a war looming on the horizon. Even if they did she would be sent to the front lines immediately. Best to use a potential spy as cannon fodder.
"So you sent me here to die? How do you expect me to kill anybody? Should I become a prostitute system huh? Where am I to get money with no monetary skills to my name?" Mad Marie was starting to feel hopeless.
"Worry not host. God has granted me the ability to loan out what he calls the "Genin starter pack." it provides you with the basic skills a genin should know."
"Loan? How much does it cost?" Said Marie.
"Approximately 15,000 Ryo."
"How the fuck would I pay that back system? it's not like I have a village that will pay me to do missions."
"Figure it out." With a condescending tone, the system dealt a blow to Marie.
"What choice do I have then? Fuck give me the starter pack then." Without it she was doomed even if the price seemed extreme she had to take it.
"Granted" Not a second after the knowledge assaulted her mind causing a bunch of pain in the process.
"FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK"
