Chapter 4: Academy (Edited)

After having Hyorinmaru safely sealed inside me, it was time for my first meeting with him in this life.
- flashback no jutsu -
A week had passed since the sealing ritual was completed. I had finally managed to make the leaf stick to my forehead though my chakra control was still terrible for now.
In order to achieve balance in my chakra composition I had also started a new workout routine. After all I still possessed ten times more mental than physical energy.
Today was the day I had been looking forward to all week.
I finally got to talk to my old friend Hyorinmaru today as granny Mito promised to teach me how to communicate with a sealed bijuu today.
So after a quick breakfast I quickly said goodbye to my mother and ran off to granny Mito's house.
Then after the obligatory tea, it was finally time.
"Relax your mind and focus on your chakra flow. Feel where it gets channeled and disappears into the seal" Mito calmly advised.
"Then make your consciousness follow the chakra. Once you succeed you will find yourself in the representation of your inner world where the seal is located.
This place is different for anyone so I can't tell you what you will find there.
However you will be able to follow the chakra further until you reach a giant cage of some kind.
Inside will be your second consciousness as well as the chunk of the kyubi's chakra.
If everything is working well and as intended, your consciousness should be in the process of slowly assimilating it."
Seeing that I understood she urged me "Go on and try"
I eagerly started meditating and following Mito's instructions. I suddenly found myself on top of an endless glacier with snow blowing everywhere.
Curiously the wind only blew in one specific direction and I realized that the wind and snow represented my chakra flow so I followed the direction of the wind.
After walking for some minutes I reached an icy mountain with a ginormous cave inside. All the chakra seemed to be rushing inside so naturally I followed it.
Once my eyes adjusted to the dim light in the cave I could finally see an enormous metallic cage embedded into the icy walls of the cave.
Placed on top of the giant lock is a paper tag with the symbol for seal.
Inside this giant cage at least ten times bigger than the sokyoku stand I could see a huge blue dragon.
This dragon had an enormous serpentine body, four sharply clawed feet and legs, and a huge pair of wings, each big enough to wrap up the entirety of the rest of his body with ease.
The dragon was tightly coiled around a giant pulsating mass of red chakra emanating so much killing intent that if I was not a reincarnated soul reaper captain, I probably would have fainted on the spot.
Suddenly the dragon opened his eyes and spoke with a powerful and deep voice "We meet again at last kid. I can't believe you let yourself be killed despite having the great me as a Zanpakuto. Truly pitiful."
Then he closed his eyes and refused to talk to me any more.
I smiled wryly at his attitude. I couldn't deny I was hoping for a warmer welcome at our reunion though I suppose he had always been like this.
He only accepted the strongest and since I died I proved to not be worthy.
I guess I would have to work hard so he can accept me again once I'm prepared to open the seal.

After that I regularly visited the seal to make sure everything is going to plan and also to try and get back the trust we had before I died, though I haven't made much progress on that front yet. Guess I'm still not strong enough yet.
Well I still have time. I'm still only six years old so I still have plenty of time to grow.
As for my chakra problem, I was able to reduce the imbalance to only three times the mental energy so now it can be mostly used like normal chakra.
Though I will keep working on it to get the perfect balance. Once I do I have a feeling something incredible will happen.
As for chakra control I am now able to have over a hundred leaves stuck all over my body all day long with minimal strain.
While going on one of my daily runs around the village as part of my workout I encountered a very strange yet powerful man.
He was running around Konoha on his hands in weird green spandex and shouting loudly about 'YOUTH'.
Once he saw me (4 years old at the time) running around Konoha several times while drenched in sweat, he approached me, introduced himself as Might Duy and complemented me on my 'YOUTH'fulness before offering to train me in taijutsu.
And although he was only a genin I could sense an immense pressure when I was in front of him comparable to captains of the gotei 13 so I knew he was very strong.
Naturally I accepted his offer as I needed someone strong to guide me in developing my physical energy.
It was largely due to his training that I managed to come so far in balancing my chakra.
As it is finally time to go to the academy I feel somewhat nostalgic as I remember my days at Shin'o academy.
I was wondering if I should graduate early again as I did in Shin'o but I think it might be better to graduate together with my friends. So I guess I should only do that if they too want to do it.
Knowing how lazy Shikaku is though, I doubt we will do it.
On the first day of the academy my mom insists on accompanying me there despite all my protests but I can't keep a happy smile from forming on my face.
After my mom sent me off at the gates of the academy I quickly go to register and then I am directed to join my fellow students in the play ground in order to listen to the third hokage's speech.
I look around and find my friends already there. They are chatting among themselves and Kira Inuzuka (OC) has also joined in together with her chocolate brown puppy.
She is a very outspoken and almost feral girl that always tries to prove her dominance though her attempts are doomed to failure around Minato and me as we are much stronger and faster than her.
Shikaku is too lazy to respond to her challenges which regularly infuriates her. Choza on the other hand is mostly just interested in eating and just too gentle to want to compete with her.
So the only one among us she can and does win against in her constant races and brawls is the outgoing Inoichi who sees these challenges as fun games.
And while she has never won against Minato and me, she still tries again all the time.
As I make my way over to them, Minato notices me first and they all turn to me.
I greet them and we all start chatting about random things.
Finally a group of ninjas show up and quickly spread apart forming a corridor. Then the Hokage appears in his famous hat and robe.
He makes his boring speech about the will of fire and leaves falling and growing again.
While his speech is truly boring and cliché, I have to admit that his aura and presence are truly grand and awe inspiring. I bet he is almost as powerful as me during my time of death in Hueco Mundo.
This is the first time I get to see a glimpse of the top powers of this world and I have to admit this world seems only slightly weaker than my old one.
After the Hokage is done indoctrinating young impressionable minds, we get assigned to a class and then the first day of the academy is over.
Tomorrow will be the first day of actual classes.
As I arrive in the classroom of class '1A' I look around and see a few kids chatting in small groups. As it's still early most students including my group of friends have yet to arrive.
I choose an empty seat in the second to last row by the window and decide to sleep until my friends arrive.
Five minutes later a blond blue eyed kid sits down and greets me. "Good morning Toshiro. Are you excited to finally learn how to be a ninja?"
"Nah... I don't think the academy has much for me to learn that I haven't been taught already. I only come here because I have to and I want to hang out with you and Shikaku.
Come to think about it the same should hold true for you. After all the practice we have done together I don't think the academy has much to teach you at all."
'Maybe I should teach my friends the shadow clone that great grandpa invented so we can do something more productive than listening to boring lectures that we already know.' I think to myself.
"Hmm... that is probably true" concedes Minato just as the door slides open and the inseparable trio enters the room.
They come over and after a round of greetings sit in the row behind Minato and me.
Suddenly the door crashes open violently and a lightly panting Kira comes rushing in and throws herself into the chair next to Minato.
Just then the door opens again and a tall kunoichi with raven black hair enters the room. She wears the standard chuunin vest over a mesh shirt and black anbu pants. Her long hair is tied into a high ponytail using the Konoha forehead protector. She also wears black fingerless gloves with metal plates protecting the back of the hand and black ninja sandals.
"Good morning class. My name is Misaki Tatsune(OC) and I will be your homeroom teacher for the next four years.
Now before we begin please introduce yourselves to the class starting from the front left seat."
And so our first lesson begins.
