Chapter 178: A break between floors

The stone statue let everyone go for a little break to calm themselves down, regroup and replenish lost energy.

It also needed to report this to the headmistress, but to its surprise, she appeared via apperation the moment the kids left.

"How did it go?" she asked, looking into the field as she spoke.

"What do you want me to say? I really don't have the words. That kid is not a wizard." The small statue said with a quivering voice. As if experiencing the horror of that enormous face all over again.

Violet was surprised and finally looked over at the statue.

"What do you mean? What happened?"

The statue chuckled and sat back down on his small but proportionate to his size stool.

"That kid is a monster. He…" the statue went on to explain what was happening. By the end, he was shaking again. That 'illusion' as Tom called it made his stone body flinch in fright.

Violet was frowning.

"To create such a realistic illusion to the point where even its aura is able to be felt is unprecedented. I haven't heard of anyone being able to do something like this before.

Not to mention taming a dragon. If what you said is right, then I'm afraid that Randal is right. That boy is going to rob us blind." She said, but a wide smile was on her face.

The statue was confused as he looked at her smile.

"If you know that, why are you smiling like that?"

Violet couldn't help but smile wider at his words.

"Because the price is worth it. I have a growing suspicion that he is already strong than anyone in this school. No… more like he is beyond every wizard I have ever met. And all this at 12 years old. I don't understand how this is all possible. What is his true background I wonder." She mumbled the last part to herself.

"The world will tremble in his presence. But whether something good comes out of it has yet to be determined. I'll have to report this to MACUSA." She said, sighing slightly.

The stone statue perked up instantly at her last word.

"What! If you do that, you know those pricks will try and detain him for questioning. Maybe even subject him to torture and mindreading in order to pry the secrets from him." The statue said seriously.

Violet smiled slightly.

"That is not my intention, I will warn them after the child leaves. After all, I'll be damned if I get on that little monster's bad side. Heck, I doubt I could even escape unscathed if he chased after me." she said seriously.

"I don't doubt you could get away, but definitely not without taking some losses. That kid is monstrous. You better play your cards right Vi, or you will end up losing more than you expect." warned the statue as it stared at the roof with lingering fear.

"He's that good huh?" she said softly.

"Mhm"

***

By now, I was munching down on some freshly cooked fried chicken with some coke on the side. Since I didn't have to worry about eating a balanced diet because my body took most of its nutrients from the magic around me, I was free to eat whatever I wanted, in whatever quantity. It was quite a liberating feeling.

I could see everyone else giving me constant glances as if full of questions but too timid to ask them. I begrudgingly placed my drumstick down at stared at them.

"Spit it out," I said with a sigh.

Percival smiled apologetically and swallowed his food before clearing his throat.

"We were discussing your performance, and we want to learn how to control, and use magic the way you do. You seem to have a lot of control. Not to mention, your spells are destructive, dangerous and most important, lethal.

Not all of us are interested in the last part, but we do want to learn how to control it. we are wondering if you could teach us?" he explained with slight nervousness.

I could understand it, they all wanted to have power that was flashy and strong. But…

"I already told you, this is specialised, so although I can teach you some things, it would be the basics. A sort of foundation so to speak. What you are able to build on top of it depends on you. I can help you once you have achieved the next step yourselves. Construction of spells and unique spells is the easy part. I'll get all of you to explain your way of using magic and I'll help you come up with some spells and the sort. That's my proposition." I proposed seriously.

I had already decided to invest in this group of people. They had potential in one way or another and most importantly, they were nice people.

Everyone's eyes widened at my words, and they began to smile. Abby was having a hard time controlling herself from getting up and cheering. Evident by the intense fidgeting she was doing with the fork. Everyone laughed at her antics.

I also caught onto Fred's weird behaviour and Drak told me about his mumbling during the match. To think he knew my background. This could go one of three ways.

One, I kill him after reading his mind and finding out what he knows. This is a drastic and rather distasteful method I would rather not employ since he's a nice kid.

The second was to read his mind and then obliviate him. That way, he would have never recognised me, and my secret is safe. And depending on what he knew is how I would proceed with him.

And the third, confront him in a secluded place and see what he knows. I could get Achlys to read his mind, but I would rather he tell me. in any case, Drak can tell if he's lying or not. The only reason I thought of this method was out of respect for a fellow student. I didn't want to always be a tyrant, going around being all forceful and stuff. Plus, it would give him the chance to earn brownie points with me by being honest. after all, loyalty and honesty are the rarest currencies these days.

I would rather give him the benefit of the doubt and trust in someone for once than be distrustful and later find out he didn't mean me any harm.

So, I decided that I would go along with the third option. I was most eager to find out what he knew.
