Chapter 27: The Real Show will Start Now

'Even after all my efforts, she still met with her doom!'

Steven's face turned gloomy, like a few layers of dark clouds covered his face. A terrifying aura surrounded him. Just by looking at his face, people around him felt shivers ran through their spine. All of them slowly moved to a few meters away. Everybody was afraid of offending him.

"Second Brother", Andrew slowly approached him. His voice was low, as if he was afraid of provoking him too.

Steven did not react a bit. In a shaky voice, Andrew murmured once again. "Se... Second Brother. I have verified what you asked me to."

Only then Steven moved. He gestured him to take him to the balcony outside.

"What did she do this time?" Steven asked with a deep, horase voice. His tone was frighteningly cold, devoid of any emotion.

Andrew felt like a hammer was thwacking on his chest. He, a respected Young Master of D' Morgans, was even scared by Steven's aura this time. He wondered what that girl would do while facing his Second Brother's wrath.

"She provoked Lanchester family's Eldest Young Miss, Ms. Rachel Lanchester, to ruin her gown. Then ordered someone to sabotage the new dress she was going to wear. But..."

Andrew seemed to think of something fir a second, then continued,

"Her dress seems to be perfect now. Otherwise how did she manage to dance for..."

Midway through his words, Andrew gulped down the rest as he witnessed Steven's expression worsening. To change the atmosphere, he laughed awkwardly,

"Second Brother's insight is really something. You even realised what was going to happen beforehand. Hee Hee."

This time, Steven's face relaxed a little. Noticing this, Andrew asked again as he couldn't stop his curiosity anymore.

"Then... Are still we going to keep 'that', or we will just throw it away."

"Send it to the person I mentioned." A cold glint of flash passed through Steven's face, as a sinister smile appeared on his lips.

"If I am not wrong, the real show will start now."

"That would be needed just after the commotion breaks. Until then, keep that Miss Carter busy and let her stay away from the dance floor."

"Let them step on each other's head and fight."

"I wonder who's going to win and save her face in this fight today."

Meanwhile in the hall, Herbert came again to Mantisha to ask her for a dance. Actually, he came to her not for him, but for Albert.

Mantisha looked like she just swallowed a fly. She really wanted to be alone and unnoticed today, okay! And what was with the psychopath that he asked his representative to ask her for a dance. Was she scary? Would she bite him if he came? Though he was reserved, and talked less, but they were friends anyway. And the previous incident was partly his fault too.

"I wonder what happened with all of the Young Master Albert's suitors, that he sent you here to ask this nobody for a dance."

Mantisha was annoyed to the core. She felt like all of her physical, mental, spiritual energies were draining. If she would be asked again, she would never agree to come to a party like this. She was hungry. Other than a few mocktails, she didn't even ate anything proper for a long time. She even skipped her launch earlier. She thought that she would look like a clown with a bulging stomach in a unique dress like that. If she knew it would be ruined in a while, she might ate to her fill.

Now that she was hungry, her temper was rising, and as Herbert was her old friend, all of her anger fell upon him.

"Woh woh, don't be so angry okay. He was quite shy to ask you. And as you know, he has many fans and suitors. If he were to accept any of their dance proposals or ask one, they might misunderstand." Herbert continued in a pitiful tone, while Mantisha also seemed to understand.

"So if you please accept..."

"Don't ask her to dance, she is going to sit for this one."

Herbert's continuous chants were interrupted by another profound voice.

They looked at that direction only to see Albert's handsome profile standing there. He was holding a plate full of pastries in one of his hands, as the other one was still in his pocket. As usual, he got all the attractions around towards him.

"Her stomach is grumbling. How can she dance in this state." He passed by the side of Herbert. By seeing him spouting blatant words, Herbert's jaw almost dropped. Albert looked towards Evelyn as she quickly stood up from her seat, then sat beside Mantisha and continued,

"This dance is not a rule to maintain, but to enjoy."

Then he looked at a stunned Mantisha with a doting smile on his face, as he stuffed the plate in her hands.

"Who need to dance in chaos to enjoy when you can just enjoy some sweets quietly."

Herbert gave a look like he was discovering his cousin brother again or somehow discovering a new land. He felt like Christopher Columbus. He looked towards Evelyn and noticed her stunned face too. For a second, his eyes flickered.

Evelyn was no exception as well. 'Is he still the cold and aloof genius that everybody talks about!' She thought, but did not dare to say it out loud.

But Mantisha was not Evelyn, so she forgot her ambience like always, put her plate down and put her hand on Albert's forehead.

"What's with this delirium! Do you have a fever? Are you feeling uncomfortable somewhere? Do you need medicine? Do you want some Aspirin?"

*Silence*

"Oh my god! Don't tell me you have multiple personality disorder!"

Another moment of awkward silence broke out.

After a few seconds, suddenly Albert burst out laughing. Herbert and Evelyn also joined with him. People around, looked at them in a awkward manner. It was there first time to see the Young Masters of Blacks being so open and laughing like this.

Mantisha only blinked her eyes innocently as she puffed her cheeks. She frowned in annoyance and told to Albert,

"You are talking too much today. That's also in a weird manner. Shouldn't I doubt? I did not really ask anything wrong, right?" She bit her lips in annoyance.

Lily gritted her teeth while looking at them. 'This girl, again! Here I am, wearing one of the most gorgeous yet sophisticated creations of Tasman Murad, and there she still dragged Young Master Albert towards her. And there's that bi*ch! How did she know her. Why they show up always together today?' She almost stomped her feet in anger.

Lily rejected all of the dance proposals to save her first dance for Young Master Albert. But after entering here, he just passed by her side not giving her any glance. From the beginning to the end, she saw his eyes was glued to that da*ned girl.

'She just had a Waltz dance a while ago, right? I will show everybody, how to set fire on the dance floor.'

With a pair of eyes full of determination, she asked the man near her to have a dance, not noticing that he was the one asked her to dance for three times in a row.

That man's eyes glimmered with surprise. He enthusiastically agreed to her, as he asked,

"Then shall we... Start with Tango?"

"Sure."
