Chapter 3: Chapter 3

I waited until I am sure Ben has left the house. I went to my room and change my clothing to more appropriate exploring clothing. I am going to explore this forest today come what may. I put on a pair of black tights and a green t-shirt matching it with my walking boost and hello kitty socks. I pick up my summer hat and walking stick and walk out the door heading towards the lake. The lake would be a good place to start, all animals' needs water and the same goes for the wolf.

I have been wandering around the lake for hours and still no sight of a wolf. I can hear them, sense them but cannot see them. There is this feeling of excitement and anticipation in the forest. I am at a part of the forest I do not recognize and it is getting late. I need to go back home before Ben realize I am gone. But which way is home? Everything looks the same, I do not recognize anything. I take a deep breath to calm my nerves, trying to remember what direction I came from. I set my eyes on a tree that sort of looks familiar. I wander around the forest for another hour, my water is up and I am starving. The sun is about to go down and it will be dark soon. I am so lost! What am I going to do?

I am cold, hungry and thirsty and don't forget tired. This expedition has gotten me nothing but trouble. I should have stayed home as Ben asked me to. Great, just great how bad can it get. I am lost in a dark forest with no sign of home. I walked slowly trying to feel my way through the forest when it started to rain. Just what I needed. No flashlight, no jacket to keep me warm and no more snacks. I am officially screwed.

Feeling sorry for myself won't help me at all. I need to focus and come up with a plan. Sitting on a fallen tree I try and listen if I can hear cars or music. Anything at this moment will be good. But I hear nothing but the sound of rain falling. Focus, just focus I tell myself. I hear something in the distance. The sound is faint and far away but it is hope. I get off the tree and start walking in that direction. Stopping every now and again to hear if the sound is getting closer. It sounds like it is getting louder. I must be getting closer to the source of the music. I walk towards the sound slowly and carefully not to fall over any tree roots. In the distance, I can see fires and people talking. I am so glad to hear people talking that I start to run towards them. In my hastiness, I forgot to look where I was going and fell over a rock.

I started to cry, I am feeling discouraged. My arm is dripping blood; I am socked to the bone from the rain. I can barely put one foot in front of the other so tired am I. This day has to be the worst day of my life.

Looking around me I noticed that I can see the people walking around the fire. It was not only people walking around there is huge wolves walking in-between the people. The people do not seem to be scared of them or the wolfs scared of the people. I noticed that the wolves is not their pets but rather a part of the people. It looks like they know each other. I walk closer to the circle of people when all of a sudden everyone turns to me.

Wait a minute that is Ben! What is he doing here when he told me not to go into the forest then he himself goes and party in the forest without me!

"Ben! You told me not to go into the forest but here you are in the forest. What is going on here! I have spent the whole day walking around the forest and all the time you are here without me!" I am fuming mad at Ben.

"Emma, what are you doing here?" Ben seems surprised to see me.

"You know what I am doing in the forest. Trying to find these wolves that I hear and here you are walking around with them as you know them. What is going on here? Why have you not told me you know these wolf?" I looked at Ben with a hurtful expression. He knows I have been trying to find these wolf for years. He has helped me to look for them and all this time he knows them. And what makes it even worse is that this wolfs does not look like your average wolf. These wolves seem to be intelligent if I did not know they are wolves I would think they are humans. They are much bigger than your average wolf. I am standing at my full length and these wolves' heads are at my head when they sitting down. I know I am sort but next to these wolfs I feel super small.

Looking at Ben with tears in my eyes holding my arm with my hand that is full of my own blood dripping wet it became too much for me. I started to cry again. Ben moved towards me to comfort me when all of a sudden he is pushed to the ground and replaced by a man. A man I have never seen before. A beautiful man I might add. He is tall and handsome with brown hair and eyes that I can get lost in. On his one arm, there is a tattoo of a wolf looking at the moon. This man is well-built mussels in all the right places. By the looks of it, he must work out quite a lot.

Gently he put his arms around me and picked me up with no effort at all. The moment he touches me I feel as if my whole body comes alive. Like my body was asleep and all of a sudden it awakes with a jolt of electricity. He turns around towards all the people and wolves cradling me in his arms. He looks at them and speaks.

"I have made my decision, she will be my mate." He said and with that, he walks away holding me. I am too tired to care about what he says. I feel safe in his arms and for now, that is enough for me.

I see Liam and Ben walking close behind us followed by Eleanor and a man and woman I do not know. Ben and Liam do not seem to be worried about this strange man claiming me for himself. In fact, they all seem to be happy about it. Some weirdoes I have for cousins.

We walked away from the fire towards a cluster of buildings. I did not know this place was here in the forest. How far from Liam's house am I?

We get closer to the buildings one of the buildings looks like a block of flats. It is built to fit into its surroundings. This building looks modern and gives the vibes of a hotel.

We enter the building and headed up the stairs. He must be used to claiming so many stairs. He stops at a door on the top floor. Gently he puts me down but keeps one arm around me to support me. He opens the apartment. He picks me up again and curries me through and gently he lays me down on the sofa.

"Sorry sir but I am too dirty to sit on your beautiful sofa. I will go sit on the chair by the dining room table if you do not mind." I said and started to get off the sofa and moved towards the dining room table.

"You will do no such thing. You will sit on the sofa and let me take care of you." The man said. I am just too tired to argue further.

"Who are you? You pussed my cousin to the ground and picks me up as I belong to you." I look him straight in the eyes. I need to know who this man is. I can feel this strong connection towards him but I do not know why.

"I am James Henderson, you might have heard about me. I am the owner of this town. And to answer your last question, you do belong to me. You are my mate, the one person my soul calls for. You must feel some sort of connection toward me?" James leans down and brushes his fingers across my face. The movement is soft I can barely feel it but somehow it feels full of power. I lean into his hand the touch of his hand makes me feel like I belong here.

"Yes, I do feel it but I do not understand it. I do not know you and yet it feels like I belong here with you." I said to him

Liam moves closer to us with Ben following him. Liam comes and sits next to me taking my hand into his big hands. Ben comes and stands behind me.

"Emma, there is something Ben and I need to tell you. We were not allowed to tell you but under these circumstances, I think you should know the truth." Liam moves closer to me

"Emma, the wolves that you hear are not normal wolves. They are humans that can transform into wolves. This is our packhouse and James is our leader. Wolfs needs to stay together in order to survive. Ben and I are a part of this pack and so is everyone in this town. You Emma are the only human in this town. Everyone ells are part human part wolf." I look from Liam to Ben to James and Eleanor. There is another man and woman in here and so I look to them as well. This makes a lot of sense. Somehow I just know that what Liam said is the truth. And a lot of things are starting to make sense.
