Chapter 29: Chapter 28
Standing by the door to the garden was July, who just arrived. Theodore spotted him right away since he was on the big side and he was also waiting for Chester to come back.
'Rain... I think I remember Rain asking us to inform him once July arrives,' Theodore thought as soon as he spotted July. 'Where is he...' he thought as he looked around, searching for Rain from where he stood.
After several seconds of turning his head to look for his friend, he finally saw Rain but he didn't expect Yuri to be sitting next to him.
Suddenly, he felt hesitant to approach him because of Yuri. Even getting closer to him at a given distance makes him feel weird, so the alpha naturally didn't want to even go near him.
However, what happened next completely changed his mind.
Rain suddenly rested his head on Yuri's shoulder, making Theodore's eye twitch. It was like he was seeing something so unpleasant that his feet moved on their own. Without thinking, Theodore grabbed Rain's wrist, separating him from Yuri.
"What are you doing, Theodore?" Rain asked with scrunched eyebrows. Theodore's eyes darted upon Yuri and then to Rain's wrist. He immediately let go of his friend's wrist and said, "July is already here. Didn't you ask us to tell you if he already arrived?"
'Hah. Look at this guy...' Rain thought as he scoffed.
"I did. But you didn't have to grab me by the wrist and pull me like that. Look, it's a bit red," Rain said as he showed his wrist to Theodore.
He was right. His wrist really was a bit red because of Theodore's grip, but the alpha didn't feel any remorse. Theodore threw a quick glance at Yuri and saw that he was glaring at him for hurting Rain.
'What's his problem? When will he ever act normally? My granny told me it's bad to hate people, but I just can't help but hate him,' Yuri thought as he showed his displeasure on his face.
"Whatever," Theodore said as he turned around and left.
As Theodore walked away from them, he clenched his jaw as he felt even more annoyed because of the look Yuri was giving him.
Honestly speaking, he didn't even know why he acted like that. The only thing he knew was that he didn't like the sight he was seeing earlier.
It was upsetting.
The entire time even after the party started, Theodore just remained seated in his chair. Even though Chester has already arrived and even tried talking to him a bunch of times already, he didn't respond much to him and even ignored him when he got tired of listening to his cousin.
"Ches, I'm gonna introduce you to someone. Come with me," Chesca said as she patted her brother's shoulder. "Oh, okay," he nodded and stood up. "Hey, let's talk later. I'll be back soon," Chester said and patted Theodore's arm.
Chester followed after Chesca, and his eyes immediately sparkled as soon as he saw who Chesca was going to introduce him to.
It was a blond-haired boy with pale skin, almond-shaped brown eyes, thick eyelashes, rosy cheeks, and reddish lips that made him even paler.
If he was put among a crowd, he'd probably be so easy to spot because of how good he looks.
'He looks like someone I'd want to date. I wonder who he is...' Chester thought as a smile formed on his lips as he and his sister got closer to Yuri.
"Hello, Yuri! This is my brother, Chester," Chesca said as she looked at her brother who was smiling so sweetly at Yuri. "And Chester, this is my friend, Yuri. I've mentioned him to you before, remember?" she continued, still looking at Chester.
'Yuri... His name sounds familiar...' Chester thought as he tried to remember where he heard his name. Suddenly, Theodore popped into his head and he then realized that it was the same guy whom Theodore kept fighting with.
"Ah, yes. It's a pleasure to meet you," Chester said as he offered his hand for a handshake. Yuri looked at his hand and shook it as he said, "Likewise."
'Hmm... Blond hair and the name Yuri... He seems so familiar to me somehow...' Chester thought as they finished shaking their hands.
Chesca acted as a bridge towards them so they'd get to know each other a bit more. As they spoke to each other longer, Theodore started looking for Chester because he already finished eating and he was also starting to get bored.
He felt a familiar feeling when he saw Chester talking to Yuri with all smiles. It was the same feeling as earlier when he saw Rain resting his head on Yuri's shoulder.
He immediately stood up as he decided to grab a drink to cool his head.
"Theo, could you please—" Xander, Theodore's dad, stopped in the middle of his sentence when Theodore just grabbed his drink from his hand. He drank it all until there was nothing but a few drops left in the glass.
'Did my son just...' Xander spaced out for a while, processing what just happened. Xander knew that Theodore has never been in the presence of alcohol since the adults around him and his cousins were rather strict about the consumption of alcohol, so he thought it was understandable that his son didn't recognize that it was an alcoholic drink. While it was common for Theodore to take his drink because he always likes what his father drinks, it was shocking to see his son take his glass of liquor and even drink it until there was almost nothing left.
"Thanks, Dad," Theodore said and walked back to his chair. "Come sit with me," Troy Lee said as he turned Xander's head towards him and gave him a kiss.
Suddenly, his thoughts about his son vanished right away from his head just from a single kiss. "I've only been away for a minute. Did you miss me already?" he said as his eyes smiled together with his lips as he looked at his wife.
The two of them acted like newlyweds, spreading sweetness in their corner as they exchanged flirty words.
Theodore, who was still on his way to his table, felt a stinging sensation on his tongue and throat. His stomach also started burning as if he had just eaten a ball of fire.
"Did I eat something bad?" he mumbled to himself as he pulled his chair and sat. Right after he sat, Chester was finally able to come back and sit at their table once again.
"Guess who I—" Chester's eyebrows furrowed as he stopped in the middle of his sentence when he noticed how Theodore looked.
"Are you sick? Why is your face so red?" Chester asked as he leaned a bit closer and reached for Theodore's face to check his temperature.
A familiar unpleasant smell stung Chester's nose, making him move backward with widened eyes.
"Hey, don't tell me you..." he bit his lower lip as he stared at Theodore's face.
"Did you drink?"
