Chapter 9: Hug

The whole tea party felt like a ruse to confuse me. I had never in my life ever witnessed someone like Eleanora. She was extremely free-flowing, there was not a modicum of restraint in the way she spoke, in fact, all she did was roll her eyes and snap back at Francesca and Adelaide without fear of retribution. 

Were things always like this? 

Huffing back in the carriage, Adelaide finally blew up, "I can't believe she talked to you like that!" Her adenoidal whimper came out to try and caress Francesca's wounded heart. Indeed, I was even surprised that Eleanora could say such cruel words. 

She smiled sweetly all the while biting into Francesca's lowly birthright and how she should even be considered lucky to be in her presence. It almost made me want to laugh, but I needed to return back with the two of them so I was not allotted that luxury. Eleanora hugged me tightly, gushing about how she would come over to visit and not to worry about bothering her.
