Chapter 14: Written Exams

(Two Months Later)

--MC POV--

Finally, the day has come...

The first exam of this academic year before we go on a week break. There are a total of four exams for each year at the academy. Three of them are all practice and put you on the leader boards for competitiveness.

The last one is the one that will decide which class you will get put in for the next year regardless of the clan you are in. The top 20 will be put in class A. This is the overall score of physical and written together.

Unless you have the skills to pass these tests, with flying colours and get top marks you have a chance for early graduation. This is probably what Kakashi will be doing after he has taken the end of year exam.

Or maybe he will get a chance before that. Knowing him he will probably get it before the third exam. I won't do early graduation like the rest and stay until I have finished all the years.

This will be until the age of twelve. One year before the death of Obito. I will either graduate at that age or less. Doing an early graduation will only send me to war early.

This is not something I want since I won't have much time for training. Experience won't make up for that lost time. Just look at Kakashi when he was in the series. The death of Obito made him stand in front of his grave for the whole.

All that time could have been spent on something productive such as training. He was wasted potential. He could have been Sannin level if it weren't for emotions dragging him down. But it is human nature after all.

Emotions are a pretty dangerous thing. There are twenty-seven basic emotions a human could feel. So twenty-seven basic things that could bring you down. Too much of one emotion is not a good thing.

Actually, too much of one thing without knowing what happens to yourself is never a good thing. Power is an example. I already what's going to happen when I go down this path. The end... Eternal life.

I have these emotions. Except for ones like Love or any form of emotional attachment. This feeling of emotional attachment has been manually built by me through observing, peoples body language, gestures and what they actually feel.

Here I am today using these emotions against other people for my own gain. Which I will be doing for the rest of my journey until I have reached my goal.

As I quickly went downstairs to sit down at the table and eat my breakfast I saw Riko and Hiro. They were both standing there with worry in their eyes. The exam has been making their emotions fluctuate a lot since last week.

"Are you sure your ready Yokuma?" Riko asked with a worried expression.

"Honey I'm sure he will be fine. He always works hard even when we don't ask him to." Hiro said trying to calm her down.

"Exactly. What dad said is right. You two have nothing to worry about." I exclaimed with a confident expression.

Hiro just gave me a thumbs up and said, "Do your best son. Just make sure you do your best and we will be proud."

Riko nodded to at that statement with a happy face. But her eyes were full of worry. Meanwhile, my dad was also worried. But just didn't show it to me to make me feel more confident.

But I already was confident in getting at least top four this time. Considering this is an overall test. Not just taijutsu like last time. Even if it was taijutsu like last I reckon I could get fourth place.

My speed has finally reached the early Genin level. The threshold did need my body training to be taken up a notch. Not just that but also my chakra control has reached Genin level too.

The leaf exercise was pretty much easy too. Unless I try doing it under a waterfall I still fail. The tree walking exercise will push my chakra control to another level. My concentration is probably the best in the whole academy by a mile.

Genjutsu is definitely something I have a talent for. Just dabbling into it with Yasuno gave me a lot of insight. It was complicated but learning the basics of it first made it a lot clearer.

She even gave me all her notebooks making it a lot easier for me. I have read all of them and I must say the Kurama are definitely unique. My Genjutsu level is most likely breaking through to High academy level in a few weeks or a month.

(At the academy)

"Hey, Yokuma make sure you come at the top this time!" A boy with a green jumpsuit currently yelled in the corridor.

"Yeah don't worry. I won't come 12th this time." I said with a calm expression.

"A9 please come to your seat, A9" A mature voice rang throughout the corridor.

"That's me" A monotone like voice said and walked towards the open door.

"Kakashi good luck my riv-"

"Shut up for the fourth time. Are you deaf you green brat." The man in the flak jacket yelled which everyone started laughing at.

"Ok A10"

That was me. I started walking towards the examination room with a calm expression. As soon as I walked through the door I saw a man with a flak jacket who was monitoring the exam.

He had a clipboard with paper on top and a pen. There was a large row of twenty-seven tables in each section with a number attached to them. I went to the first row which was A and walked up the tables and stopped at ten.

In front of me was a sheet of paper and a pen. More and more people came in until every single seat was filled up. After everyone was ready the man at the front started speaking in a hoarse voice.

"This has a maximum time of one hour. If anyone is not done by that time then tough luck, If you are done then walk to the front and your sheet in a pile. Now begin!"

Turning to the first page the questions were quite normal. In fact, I could ace this without even bothering. After 15 minutes I was on the last two questions which were still easy and then.

*Clack* *Clack*

A pair of in sync footsteps could be heard which made everyone's head turn simultaneously. It was no other than the white hair and masked ninja Kakashi. This made everyone's faces turn confused.

Even the exam monitor looked at him with curiosity. "You sure you have answered all of the questions correctly?"

Kakashi just nodded at him while he put the paper on the table and left with his hands in his pockets. Five minutes later I also finished. But I quickly scanned through and double-checked for any mistake.

I didn't find any. So I stood up. Walked over to the table and put my paper down. People became even more confused as they looked at each other with their eyebrows knitted.

"Sigh... People nowadays do everything just to get out from an exam" Since Kakashi was the son of the white fang it was believable. But who was this nobody?

I just walked out of the door where Kakashi looked like he expected me.

"Yo, we got forty minutes left till the physical exam what do you wanna do?" Kakashi said in a bored tone.

"Let's stretch... Get our self warmed up and ready for it." I said.

"Sounds like a good idea let's go"

-

On a playground outside the academy, a large group of twenty-seven people could be seen sitting outside. A man at the front who had a natural frown and deep eyes were currently looking over them.

"Okay, Asuma your turn!" The instructor said.

"Hai Yamafumi-Sensei"

Asuma came to the front and stood opposite a dartboard with a small bullseye in the middle. His eyes turned sharp while tilted the shuriken. A few seconds later he snapped his wrist out cleanly resulting in the air howling.

*CLANG* *THUD*

He did this again to another two boards.

*CLANG* *THUD*

*CLANG* *THUD*

"Good 8/10. Next"

After a few people came up it was Yokuma's turn.

--POV MC--

Ok, I need to at least hit the bullseye one or two times. As I walked forward and stood opposite the board, I closed my eyes for a few seconds. My concentration levels have peaked.

There is no one else... Just me and the board... No, the shuriken is me and the board is the way.

Deep breath in *OOOH* and out *FUUU*

Three thumbs at the bottom tilt it... Hold it stiffly while not compromising my grip... And snap it forward *CLANG* *THUD*.

Everyone's eyes widened at this. This was the third bullseye after Hisajami and Guy. But I still stared at the board with a calm expression. There are still two more tries. I could still mess up.

There is no one else... Just me and the board...The shuriken is me and the board is the way.

Deep breath in *OOOH* and out *FUUU*

Three thumbs at the bottom tilt it... Hold it stiffly while not compromising my grip... And snap it forward *CLANG* *THUD*.

Everyone thought that was going to hit since I was so close. Even the teacher nearly raised a brow. But I didn't let it affect me even a bit as I just pulled out the next shuriken.

"Well done a 9.7/10 for Yokuma Uchiha.

Gasps were heard as the third person in this exam was able to get two shurikens in a row. Murmurs started getting louder and louder as I went to sit down on the floor next to Obito, Guy and Kakashi.

Obito's fists were tightly clenched as he looked at me and Guy with an angry expression. His scores were only 5/10. He is angry over something and he is to blame for it.

Training and listening to other people is not his forte. Nor does he want to ever come and train with Guy and Kakashi. He still wants to vent his anger towards us. I mean I don't really care because it doesn't affect me at all.

"Next Kakashi Hatake"

Kakashi just stood up straight away and stood opposite the board with drooping eyes. As soon he got the got the Shuriken he didn't even look like he is trying at all to other people.

But the way his hand is clenched on that Shuriken shows that he is being serious. He tilted the shuriken and flicked it without any waste in motion and.... *CLANG* THUD*

The first bullseye was hit. This wasn't too surprising since other people had got it.

But soon...

*CLANG* "THUD*

*CLANG* *THUD*

"Excellent 10/10 for Kakashi Hatake"

Everyone jaws nearly unhinged except for the teacher. All perfect scores in the shuriken exam. You didn't disappoint Kakashi. I wonder what the test will be after this.

Even louder gasps and expressions of awe were quickly spread on the majority of faces. No one has probably done this in the entire academy except him everyone though.

After Kakashi, the last few people came up with nervous expressions. After that performance by Kakashi, they knew that whatever they got would be nothing in front of that. But they still tried their best in hope of succeeding.
