Chapter 7: Chapter 6 - Lightning Speed Cheetah and Blacky Awakened
After 6 hours of travel through a carriage, Xingyun and Mao Chen finally reached the Star Dou Forest. They are currently in the outer part of the forest looking for suitable spirit beasts to kill, Xingyun specifically asked his grandpa to let him choose the spirit beasts he wants to get a spirit ring from, he is currently using his skill at all the cat spirit beasts they saw along the way but not even one of spirit ring skill he saw made him interested, after all there's almost no 1000 year old spirit beasts in the outer part of the Star Dou Forest.
"Grandpa, I wanna try and absorb a 1000 year old ring", Xingyun said and determinedly look at his grandpa. Actually because of the many techniques the Mao clan developed, the physique of the Mao clan children is often better than the normal spirit master's physique, so many clansmen have spirit rings that is older than the optimal age of spirit rings to absorb for other spirit masters, grandpa Chen for example has a 600 year old first spirit ring, this is how the Mao clan reached an equal power to some clans who have high standings only losing to top clans like Clear Sky Clan and Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan because Mao clan doesn't have a top tier spirit.
When grandpa Chen heard Xingyun's request his eyes enlarged because of disbelief, "No! Yun'er I know your talented, I would have agreed if it is only a 700 year spirit ring even an 800 year spirit ring I can barely accept, but 1000 year spirit ring? No!", grandpa Chen firmly disagreed.
"Grandpa, actually I didn't show this on the meeting but maybe if I show you this I can convince you to let me absorb a 1000 year spirit ring", Xingyun seriously said then summoned Blacky, actually he didn't need to summon Blacky to get the effect he wanted but he couldn't expose the secret of his bloodline even to his family. He stimulated the bloodline in his body, which is quite easy for him given the control he had on his body is and then directed his aura on his grandpa.
Grandpa Chen felt a weak but at the same time suppresing aura directed to him, it made him want to worship it for unknown reasons. "Grandpa, I can suppress cat spirit beasts and cat spirit spirit masters who have a bloodline not as good as my Destiny Cat Spirit".
When grandpa Chen heard what his grandson said he's shocked because even though many spirit beasts use their bloodlines to suppress older spirit beasts who have an ordinary bloodline it is rarely applicable when it came to spirits, and spirits who can do this can be classified as top spirits, moreover his grandsons spirit's bloodline even affected him, a Super Douluo! even though he's not even a spirit master yet, this just shows how extraordinary his grandson's Destiny Cat spirit is.
"HAHAHA! Our Mao clan finally have a member who can bring us out of hiding after a long time! good! Yun'er I believe you now, lets go to the inner part of the forest and find you a suitable cat spirit beast", grandpa agreed finally because what Xingyun just showed gave him enough reason. Xingyun can suppress cat spirit beasts, so what if he uses this suppression ability to absorb spirit rings from cat type spirit beasts? it will not only make absorbing the spirit ring easier, it will also help him absorb spirit rings above his absorbing limit.
"Thanks grandpa!", Xingyun became overjoyed because of he successfully convinced grandpa Chen, but he also pondered about what his grandpa first said, 'so our clan still remained a hidden clan until today because we don't have any spirit master who have a top tier cat spirit?, don't worry grandpa I'll make sure our clan will surface again and even surpass our previous glory', Xingyun swore.
The duo traveled to the depths of the Star Dou Forest, Xingyun is still checking every beast they saw on the way, but still no luck. After 3 hours, they finally reached the inner zone of Star Dou Forest, 1000 year spirit beasts is common in this parts and 10000 year spirit beasts is occasionally seen in the deeper parts of the inner zone. They roamed around the inner zone until 6 hours later, Xingyun finally found the best spirit beast that will give him what he really wanted at the moment, speed.

Even though the Lightning Speed Cheetah have lightning in their name, their attribute isn't lightning, they are so fast that they can even rival lightning attributed beasts' speed, just relying on their physical attributes.
Xingyun asked his grandpa for help on catching this spirit beast, with his speed he wouldn't even be able to touch its tail before it disappears to the horizon. Although he wants to be the one to kill whatever spirit beast he wanted to get a spirit ring from, but he knows his limits and if he tried to fight this Lightning Speed Cheetah, it might even escape their grasp in the worst case scenario.
Grandpa Chen also agreed with Xingyun's thinking, and is a bit happy that his grandson at least knows his limits and wouldn't challenge the impossible recklessly. Grandpa Chen casually punched the Cheetah then dragged it to Xingyun half-dead, which shocked Xingyun and made him more motivated to get even stronger.
Xingyun took out his knife, and is about to stab the Cheetah, "I'm sorry, but I need to get stronger", Xingyun muttered then decisively stabbed it's heart.
"Okay, Yun'er absorb it quickly and I'll guard you", grandpa Chen said, which made Xingyun nod then he immediately sat in a lotus position then reached out for the spirit ring and absorbed it. The moment the spirit ring entered his body, Xingyun felt a little bit of pain which made him groan but the pain only lasted for a minute and everything went smoothly afterwards, after two hours a purple spirit ring appeared from his body. Xingyun became relieved, because the process went too smoothly for him but before he could celebrate an unimaginable pain hit him so suddenly and it made him shout in agony. His right hand opened and Blacky came out, while its palm sized body is shivering, as if it is forcing something out.
Grandpa Chen became nervous because of his grandson's sudden shout and he checked if he is okay, when he saw his Destiny Cat Spirit being summoned while he was still in pain he understood, something might be going on with his spirit and he can't be disturbed right now, so he let out his aura which pressured all the beasts stay as far away as possible from them.
Because of the pain, Xingyun can't even concentrate on anything except for the pain, good thing it only lasted for half an hour, Blacky opened his eyes and his shivering stopped and a purple spirit ring appeared from it's body and an invisible pressure swept through their surrounding from Blacky. Xingyun looked at Blacky, smiled then finally passed out from exhaustion, Blacky also passed out and was automatically unsummoned.
Grandpa Chen who was watching the event was shocked out of his wits, first his grandson's spirit formed a spirit ring on it's own which only a 100000 year spirit beast turned human can do, then felt a fear stemming from his soul when the invisible pressure swept through him. All of this just felt incredulous for him, but he chose to act first and run away from the scene along with his grandson, because of the pressure that swept through just now, spirit beasts will gather to where the pressure came from, which is troublesome for him. After he got out of the forest, he looked at Xingyun then remembered the incredulous events that happened just now, but his priorities right now is his grandson, which passed out of exhaustion, so he returned to the Mao village as fast as possible then relayed the events that happened to the family.
