Chapter 23: Chapter 18 - Xingyun's Realization and Bao'er's Bossiness
While walking towards their destination, Xingyun remembered how he was frightened because of how much anger Zhao Wuji directed at him, he never experienced someone glaring at him with such anger and it actually made him realize how sheltered he had been in Mao clan. He actually didn't feel ashamed that he was frightened by Zhao Wuji, instead he got determined to overcome it and never be frightened by anyone again, this actually opened up a new world for him and it taught him that no matter how talented he was if he is too sheltered and never experienced the outside world, all his hardwork will be useless in front of someone who grew up experiencing the outside world all his life. Bao'er on the other hand loves challenges and fighting so much so that instead of being frightened she is even excited to fight the serious Zhao Wuji.
"Okay, just wait here and I'll call your three seniors for you to meet them", Flender stopped and left the siblings on the entrance of where the residences are and left them there to call the other students of the school.
"Brother, if you're still ashamed that you felt frightened of Zhao Wuji, it's okay it's just a minor setback to our growth, I'm sure that you can quickly overcome it, given how awesome you are", when Bao'er saw how absent-minded her brother is until now, she attempted to cheer him up, which made Xingyun came out from his reverie and smile warmly at her while messing up her hair, "Brother stop!", Bao'er pretended to be upset, which Xingyun sensed so he still didn't stop messing her hair but after a few seconds he finally left it.
"I'm not upset because of that, on the contrary I'm happy, I realized how sheltered we are at the clan and it's my first time feeling frightened because of someone's anger on me, I think just realizing my shortcomings here, makes it worth it that we left our clan and enroll here", Xingyun happily said to Bao'er, which made Bao'er smile because she never saw his brother lacking in something before and improving because of it.
"Well, at least you're happy and not depressed, but brother I think your forgetting something?", Bao'er said to her brother, which made him confused because he didn't know what he just did to upset her again, "My hair, brother I spent hours to actually fix it before we came out in the morning, and you just ruined it! When we get our residence from dean Flender you will be the one fixing it", Bao'er explained why she's mad to Xingyun, and Xingyun just obliged with her wishes because it is really his fault. Bao'er did her best to fix her hair before Flender came back with their seniors but her hair doesn't wanna cooperate with her.
At this moment, Flender came back, with a handsome man, a fatty, and a bearded white haired man following him. "Students, meet Mao Xingyun, 12 years old and Mao Bao'er, 8 years old, they are your new classmates, along with their cat they managed to fight against Zhao Wuji and even harass him, when Zhao Wuji still haven't activated his 7th spirit ring so I immediately accepted them to our school", Flender introduced the siblings to the three youngsters he brought with him, when the three heard Flender's words, their sleepiness immediately vanishes and they incredulously looked at the red haired two tailed cat boy, his two tailed red cat and their gaze especially lingered on the very beautiful gold haired girl in front of them.
"Okay, you kids get to know each other, Mubai bring them to our available accommodations in our school, give them their own rooms, I'm leaving I still have many work to finish", Flender left the two siblings on the trio's hands, which overjoyed them because it gives them the chance to talk to Bao'er, even disregarding the fact that she is only 8 years old, and the fact that the siblings literally made Zhao Wuji helpless from their onslaught.
"ehem, my name is Dai Mubai, milady mind if I lead you to your room now?", Mubai being the oldest made his move first, which made Xingyun feel pity for him because her sister hates playboys, Mubai reached out for Bao'er's fair hands but before he could reach it, she already took it away.
"Don't touch me, I refused to be touched by a playboy, you reek of the smell of women and it makes me feel sick of it", Bao'er coldly refused Mubai's advance, which made Dai Mubai froze on the spot. "You fatty, what's your name?", she then asked Ma Hongjun, which startled him.
"M-my name is Ma Hongjun", he nervously stuttered while answering her.
"You also stay away from me, tsk I thought I'll meet talented people here, didn't expect to meet playboys here, I just can't picture the two of you being talented", Bao'er said this to Ma Hongjun while her face and voice is so cold, which made Ma Hongyun feel chills running down his spine and he lost all motivation to chase after this fearsome woman, "You! Bearded guy, what's your name? And how old are you? You look like an old man", Bao'er then looked and said at Oscar, which frightened Oscar.
"M-my n-name is O-Oscar, I'm only 14 years old!", Oscar stuttered at first but felt indignant that this beautiful girl actually thoight of him as an old man, so he couldn't help but shout out his age.
"Hmm, you're at least decent when compared to these two scum, lead us to our accommodations", Bao'er demanded Oscar.
"Y-yes mam! follow me!", Oscar immediately obliged with her request.
Xingyun didn't stop Bao'er from bossing around the three, because they aren't as relevant to his plan yet, unlike Ning Rongrong,Tang San and Xiao Wu. He didn't plan on allying Mao clan with the Dai imperial family without a guarantee that they will not betray his clan, plus Dai Mubai basically didn't have any influence to what his family's desicions are for now, so he can't really rely on Dai Mubai to have a connection with his family.
"I'm sorry for my sister's attitude, she just hates how much of a playboy our uncle is and since then she hated playboys the most, well bye gotta go", Xingyun apologized to Dai Mubai and Ma Hongjun, who was still frozen in place then ran after Bao'er and Oscar along with Blacky on his shoulder.
When the three disappeared to the horizon, Dai Mubai finally recovered from his frozen state, but surprisingly he isn't upset when Bao'er left him hanging, in the contrary he had a wide smile right now, unlike Ma Hongjun who basically gave up on Bao'er already.
"Interesting, Mao Bao'er huh, I swear that I'll have you all for myself", Mubai finally spoke after staring at Bao'er's back for a while, when Ma Hongjun heard this he looked at Mubai incredulously, he just didn't expect his awesome senior to like women who is so fierce and fearsome, Ma Hongjun then ran after the siblings and Oscar, leaving Mubai on his fantasies and delusions.
Mubai always gets every woman he wants easily because of his handsome face and amazing talent, so when he met a woman who refused his advances, he felt challenged, and he got the feeling that, he wanted to conquer her, which is new to him and he liked this feeling, because of this Bao'er's days on Shrek is just about to become worse.
