Chapter 12: Blood Flowers

Hi it's been a very long time since I updated a chapter.

And here's finally another chapter, unfortunately I didn't have many ideas of what to do from now on in this little arc of the war.

Don't worry I have a lot of ideas about what I'm going to do at the beginning of the original story.

But as I said I don't have many ideas on how to proceed to get to the beginning of the story, in fact I have my biggest difficulty being in the war part.

So I would like to ask if you would like me to do a lot (4 or 6) or a few (1 or 3 chapters about the war.

And I'm also here to ask that if you have any ideas you can comment, maybe some ideas give me one that will make me find what I'm looking for.

So that's it folks, keep the chapter.

......................................................................

Kai was walking toward his tent, when he was stopped by someone.

"Are you Mister Kresse?" A man asked Kai.

"Yes" Kai replied, and looked at the man, unlike all the others he saw here, he was not wearing a military camouflage outfit, he was wearing a suit.

"Please follow me" As soon as the man knew that Kai was the person he was looking for he spoke up.

Before Kai could say anything he began to explain.

"As has been informed to you before, you have been allocated another room, a single room".

Kai nodded as the man looked at him. Kai had been informed before that he would be moved to a single room, but he didn't expect it to be so fast.

"Have my things been moved to the room yet?" Kai asked.

"Yes" He seemed to be thinking about something and said "Your room is totally secure, plus it is soundproof."

Kai thought it was strange that he was talking about this, and felt that something bad was going to happen, no! Something bad had already happened for this person to be like this.

Kai decided to ignore this, he knew that when the time came he would find out.

Kai was silent, and the man was silent too.

After some time, they arrived in Kai's new room, it was quite different from the old one.

Well, the old one was a tent, his bed was now a double bed and he had some furniture.

Kai looked around and thought with a smile, 'At least here there are real walls'.

Kai had entered alone, and after a few minutes, he heard someone knocking on the door.

Kai opened the door expecting it to be the same man who brought him here, but it was another man.

Kai had seen this guy before, he works basically like a letter carrier, first after the package or letter is sent, it is searched to see if it is not an enemy letter.

And then after being allowed through, the package or letter is taken to the recipient.

Kai had seen him many times before, but looking at him Kai was serious.

Reading his expressions and body language, he looked sad, but not for himself, sad for someone else.

"Mr.Kresse please sign here" Kai signed.

And seeing how he was looking away, Kai knew that this sadness had something to do with him, or rather with the letter he was handing to Kai.

Kai received the letter, and the man left.

Kai had noticed that this letter didn't have very good news, and he knew roughly who the letter was from, which is why he hoped he was wrong.

But Kai knew, he is never wrong.

So Kai decided not to open it now, he looked around his room.

After Kai knew everything that was in his new room he sat down to think about what he should do with the letter, even though he knew what he was going to do.

He was going to read it, that was for sure, but first he had to think about what was written there.

'Come on, what can be written in that letter that is bad enough, not sad enough to thrill someone who is used to giving bad news'.

Kai thought about this for a while, and he came to some conclusions.

'Either what's in that letter is really very sad, or maybe he was sad about something else.'

That last one even made a lot of sense, I mean, he could be sad about something else and the reason he was avoiding Kai's gaze was because he didn't want to let Kai notice his sadness.

Those were not the only reasons Kai found, in fact he thought of many.

But he knew what the real reason was, this letter for sure is sad.

But for another person to be sad means that it has something to do with them, and the only thing they have in common is that they both work here and that he probably knows Kai's father.

So the chances are that this letter says I'm going to have to leave the army, or there's something involving Kai's father.

And even though Kai didn't want it to be, he was hoping that it was about him having to leave the army.

But he didn't know how, but he knew that this letter had nothing to do with him having to leave the army.

Opening the letter there were two papers, Kai took the first one and started to read.

And sighed "I was wrong" Kai was never happier to be wrong, and today was the first and only time Kai was wrong.

But... he was not wrong about what he thought.

Kai read the letter carefully, giggling slightly.

This was a letter from John Kreese his father, and it was talking about how his life was after Kai left, Kai laughed at some of the stupid jokes.

Kai was happy to finally have an answer. In the months that he entered the army he always sent letters to his father, the only person he had in his life and the person he loved most in the world the most important.

The letter said at the end "I know I never answered your last letters, but it's because I never knew what to say.

Kai smiled "Yes, you never knew how to express yourself".

Letter: "I know you will think that I don't know how to express myself, and you are right, but you shouldn't think such things of your father."

Kai said jokingly "Does he know how to see the future?"

The letter "No, I don't know how to see the future, but for me you are like an open book, and I can read you very well, after all you are my son."

Kai laughed "That's funny, I can read people and my father can read me"

Still, if anyone looks at Kai they will see his face full of pride, pride in being the son of his father, the best father in the world.

Kai continued reading and his psychological defenses were slowly being lowered.

When Kai finished reading, he had a happy smile on his face, and filled with longing he couldn't wait to meet his father again.

Kai was happy, since in the letter his father said that after a long time he finally accepted Kai to join the real army.

He even said, "Don't you dare die, brat, if you die I will kill you".

Seeing this letter released some of his feelings that had been blocked since he came into the army without having the real approval of John Kreese, his father.

And when he received this approval he couldn't be happier.

And his happiness increases when all he has read so far is not bad news.

Kai was so happy that he turned over a leaf without caring, but as soon as he saw what the contents of the next leaf were he froze.

"It can't be... It can't be..." Kai kept repeating this as he read the contents of this sheet.

What was on this sheet, or rather what was on this sheet, this sheet was a death certificate.

But precisely a death certificate of John Kreese, his father.

"Even though he wasn't sure, Kai believed it, no, he wanted it to be a lie with all his heart.

Kai did everything he could to believe that this was a lie and he was managing to fool himself, yet his eyes were wet from the tears streaming down his face.

The tears were not enough to show the pain he was feeling, his heart gave a squeeze, he felt like he couldn't breathe.

But he kept reading with the small hope that in the end it was all a lie.

Since besides this paper there was nothing else to prove that his father had died, it was because of this that Kai still had hope.

The certificate said that the reason of death was respiratory arrest after a car accident.

Kai slowly took out the paper, and looked at the pictures at the bottom.

His eyes widened and his mouth opened in horror, but he didn't scream, he didn't hold back any longer and cried as he hugged those pictures.

There were three pictures, one long before the accident with Kai and John in the picture smiling.

And the other two were after the accident, showing how he looked after the accident.

Kai at this moment was not lucid, he was in a lot of pain, he felt as if he had been destroyed.

And with these thoughts on his body purple marks began to appear as if they were not receiving blood.

Even with his mind out of place, Kai knew that this was not a good sign, not least because of his belief.

A belief he has had since he came into this world, that is that the mind is the master of the body, the mind can manipulate the body as it pleases beyond its limits, the mind cannot manipulate the body completely.

But it can enough to kill, things like self-asphyxiation are common, not least because the body does that sometimes because of allergies.

Only the concept is different, but let's not delve into that.

Kai realizing that he was about to get into serious trouble, did something that he would consider foolish.

He fainted himself, there is a reason why this is not a good idea.

Well, everyone knows that when sleeping is the time of rest, but it is also one of the times that the brain is used the most.

And without any hindrance the brain will pass on everything that happened and its desire to create stories called dreams.

And at this moment Kai was dreaming about his father, the dream started happily. They were walking and at the end Kai is in front of a car and his father is inside, and then the car explodes. Kai sees his father covered in flames, and his reassuring look saying that everything will be fine.

This repeated itself throughout the night until Kai woke up, he was no longer crying and looking around you can see why, his shirt was completely soaked with tears, he wasn't crying because he couldn't, he had no more tears to cry.

At this moment Kai's expression is completely indifferent, he doesn't care about anything else in the world.

Kai slowly opened his eyes, the pattern of golden flowers in his eyes was no longer golden, from crying so much his eyes had turned red.

And the golden glow in his eyes is long gone, now the pattern in his eyes was red, red flowers.

Blood flowers.
