Chapter 3: First appearance
"so what is next?
I asked the Goddess who is still glaring at my back,
"We need to set up a base of operations in the city, I want to be able to see them all fall down the bottom while we rise to the top. For that to happen, we will need to build up a Familia from scratch, which will be hard and expensive for us. The first course of action should be to recruit some weaker members and level them up as high as we can."
I nod my head,
*Main mission assigned: Acquire two recruits for the Familia. Rewards: Access to Magic and one random Spell.*
"And then?"
Hera walked in front of me,
"Then we start to destroy them slowly, one by one until they are all gone sand when nothing is left, then we rebuild, rebuild the Heaven I had once lost."
*Main Misson: Kill, Maim or convert 3 members of either the Loki or Freya Familia. Rewards: 1x unique skill.*
Hera smiled at me,
"So, you need to head back into the city, take these."
She said as she placed a small bag of gold coins into my hands.
"I will not be able to enter the city until you have a building for Me to hide in, I do not want to risk anything at this early stage. I will be waiting on the outskirts of the city until you secure a building, even a cheap one will do, in the slums would be best, Freya would never step foot in that hell hole."
I nod my head for the last time before I turn away and say
"See you soon."

As I appear back in the slums, I decide to not look for a building straight away, I need a drink, this is a lot to take in.
As I walked through the run-down streets, I marked every building, guard, prostitute and person I came across, step one of taking over territory, know what you are taking. Hera may only want to use this as a base of operations, I want to turn this into our power base. Locking off part of the city will allow us to act without the worry of spies, assassins and any other asshats getting involved.
Putting the task of getting drunk to the back of my mind temporarily, I began to dig up any information on the Familias that ran this part of the City, I found out that it was two of them in particular that held the power and they were they Soma and Ishtar Familias.

The Ishtar Familia was one of the most powerful familias in Orario and also specialized in running brothels, with many different types from various cultures around the world. Most of the members were Amazonesses and 90 per cent of all members were female. The Amazoness combatants were known as Berbera, and there were over 100 of them with most of them at Level 3. Their income amounted to more than 40 per cent of the Entertainment District's total income.
The Soma Familia specializes in selling alcoholic drinks, the Soma in particular. Only the failed version of the Soma is sold outside of the Familia, and even then the price can reach a high amount. Due to Zanis Lustra's ambitions, the Soma Familia had temporarily become his tool to fulfil them, using the members of the Familia to gather money. *
Due to the power of the Ishtar Familia, I will hunt Soma first, now back to what really matters, using some of the information I had gathered, I walked towards a bar called the Hostess of fertility, a bar owned by the Freya Familia. As I walked through the door, Katy spoke

I smiled as I walked into the bar, to my left, a group of Adventurers were getting rowdy, smiling, I approached the Bartender and ordered a simple beer before finding a table and sitting down. Everyone was staring at me like I was weird, then I saw why apparently this building uses table service.
I smiled and waited for an opportunity to present itself, from the corner of my eye, I saw a kid with white hair staring at the Adventurers with devotion in his eyes, up until they started a story about a boy who was nearly massacred by a minotaur. Seeing the agitation on the boy's face at the mocking of a dog-human hybrid? It was clear that he was the boy in the story, seeing this as my chance I silently rose to my feet, gently placing my glass on the table, I appeared behind the boy as he attempted to run out of the restaurant.
Grabbing him by the shoulder, I spun him back around, making him face the group, smiling at them, I asked
"Are you the Loki Familia?"
The Dog-Human hybrid mockingly said," Oh my god, an adoring fan, where do you want me to sign?"
The smile vanished from my face in a second,
"Say that again?"
He laughed and said,
" Where do you want me to sign?"
I turned to see the whole bar looking at me like I was stupid, I mean this is, isn't it? Nope driven by my former pride, I did something way worse.
"I want you to sign the floor outside with your blood? How dare you get off on this poor boys inexperience, if someone is in trouble, it is the duty of the strong like you to help them, not laugh at them. So he sucks with a sword? Teach him to use it. The strong of this city are quite pitiful it seems."
The Mongrel jumped over the table, staring me down, he snarled
"What level are you? By the way, you are dressed, it is clear that you don't know what it is like to be strong, so don't preach on topics that you know nothing about."
A deep, maniacal laugh erupted from my mouth.
"I'm level one, step outside and you will regret it."
Turning to the boy I said
"The strength you have is meaningless, whether it is a lot or little, it matters what you do with that strength. Me? I use it to do what I want but I also always lookout for the little guy, after all, I was one once. Never forget your roots. No matter how high you soar."
A blonde woman ran in between me and the Mongrel,
"Bete, I think this is enough, there is no need for this to go further."
Seeing its reactions, the pieces clicked together in my mind, the basis of nearly all-male bravado, Jealousy. I don't know why the Mongrel is jealous of a level one with nothing but he is.
"I see, Miss?"
The girl smiled,
"My name is Ais."
I nodded and said" Ais, you seem like a nice girl and I want to do what you said but Honour and pride will not allow it. You are one of the strongest Familias in the city correct?"
The girl nodded her head,
"So I challenge Bete of the Loki Familia to a duel."
*Issuing an item to help with the mission. Item is a black queen chess piece"
