Chapter 2: Chapter 2

She was a beautiful woman, with long silky black hair tied back in a ponytail and pale white skin, akin to snow. Her eyes were clear and righteous, with a hint of grit to them. She wore a white and blue robe, which fluttered in the howling wind, holding a Phantom in her hands, a cold aura swept over the thankful victims of the fire.

"Phoenix, you have done well…" She said, materializing a sphere of jade, healing Phoenix, who sighed in relief as wounds closed up, bullets clattering to the ground.

"Well…. I wasn't the one who did it, someone saved my ass.... You should be thanking my guy..... " Phoenix looked at him questionably, speaking in that smooth British accent.

"Uzui. You can call me Uzui." Uzui smiled, standing up. He coughed a little, Sage smiling at him thankfully, also healing him. A warm blue glow enveloped him, as he felt a few scrapes and bruises fading, with his lungs suddenly feeling clear. It seemed like her Radiant ability had healed him. How miraculous…..

Sage gracefully walked over to the rest of them, healing all of them with the same ability. Uzui didn't really remember what it was called, but couldn't care less. After a while, the group left, apparently, Kingdom would do the rest of the fire control.

The fight of flames had incinerated a few blocks of the neighborhood. Right now, Uzui appeared to be in southern England, at a decent-sized city he did not know the name of. As he and the rest of the victims were escorted out, he noticed that they were in quite an urban area. On either side, tall, about fifteen-story buildings stood, some of brick, concrete, and other materials. Above, billboards displayed holographic constantly changing messages, it truly was the future….

The sides of the streets were lined with cars and other vehicles that Uzui had never seen before. Some of the cars were even partially floating…..

Uzui chatted with Phoenix for a little, making some small talk to pass the time. Behind him, two Kingdom agents were carrying evil Phoenixes dead corpse in a body bag, which was quite disturbing, to say the least….

But the live, good Phoenix was a pretty good guy. Chill, relaxed, laidback, friendly, talking to him was quite nice indeed.

They traded phone numbers before Uzui was led away by some medics to check up on him.

1 Hour Later…..

"ID?" A monotonous voice spoke through the empty office room as Uzui sat in a chair, as stiff as a spear.

"Umm….. Wait a minute, I think I got it…" Uzui said uncertainly. He panicked a little, completely forgetting about the ID and passport situation. Wasn't it like he popped into existence or something? Wait….. Uzui took a backpack off that he had been mysteriously put on his back when he was transported here.

It was just a normal, sleek black backpack with two large pockets. Uzui unzipped one of the pockets, and took out a card that, on the top, said ID card, so Uzui assumed that….. It was the ID card.

His eyes widened for a second before he calmed himself. It was him. Himself on the cover of it. Was this the work of whatever brought him here? Or was he taking over a previous... Uzui shrugged his shoulders a little. Was it the alternate reality thing? Uzui didn't really know what he was talking about anymore so he just handed it over to the bald stern-looking person sitting at the office desk in front of him, a clock ticking in the background unsettlingly as the bald dude swiped it, squinting at a computer screen in front of him.

Twenty Minutes Later...

Uzui walked out of the Customs building, sitting down outside on a random bench, as cars zipped by on the street and workers and businessmen and women strolled by, chatting away.

After being checked on by the medic's they said he was good to go, and for some reason did not fuss him about the typical witness and report procedure most of the other witnesses or victims would go through, so they sent him off to the Customs building for some legal stuff. Why Customs? It seemed that the Uzui of this world was also not British, but instead….. Japanese. Wow. Go figure.

Looking through his ID file, it seemed the exact same as his previous life, albeit weirder and stuff. He was born in the Shibuya Ward, Tokyo, went to the same high school and college. But in this life, it seemed he was jobless or did not bother trying to get a full-time job, instead working part-time for a while at a small Soba shop downtown…. How did he manage to live? Uzui had no idea…..

Getting up, he swiped his ID card at an ATM. ID cards in this world were pretty much used for everything. Transactions, identification, you name it. They were fingerprint-based and some other technological stuff, so even if you lost one, you could just replace it and no one else could use it. Fancy.

A "verification complete" thing cheerfully sounded, and it displayed his current balance, Uzui looking there, jaw-dropping.

"THAT MUCH!!!" He cursed out loud, thankfully, no one heard him.
