Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Phraze Attack, First Meeting

DareMeNot: Okay, okay, okay~. I know I've said that I'll only be posting when I have amassed the next twelve chapters but~... Can't really do that 'cause I've lost my motivation in writing this fic... Anyway, I'll just get my funk up then we'll see, maybe later...
Previously on Living in Idle...
Touya: "Gah! You-you're just bragging now!"
Ace: "Hey now, you're the one who asked~."
Touya: "Cheh"
Yumina: "Hm~. That sounds wonderful!"
Elze: "You got that right! Say, Ace-san, can we visit your house in the future?"
She asked which the others also nodded in expectations.
Ace: "Mm, sure! You've received me in your own house hospitably, so it's just right for me to do the same, so feel free to! Oh! On that thought, Touya-bro, when are you planning to head there to confirm the location of this teleport circle?"
Touya: "Oh, I plan to do that after we finish breakfast. I don't have anything left to do here in the duchy anyway, so I'll take this chance to visit that location."
Ace: "Mhmm, that's great then. I'll come with you too, I haven't been home for a month already, and that way, you can just open a [Gate] from there and take the rest to my house."
Touya: "Hoh~. That's a good idea, alright then, let's do that!"
Ace: "Yosh! It's decided then!"

Ace: 'Ehh~. It's finally time to meet with Hilde. Huh, I'm kinda excited about it. Anyway, let's see how this turn out.'
Touya: "Well, let's get going then."
Ace: "Yup, lets."
Leen: "Wait. Did you forget that Touya can just open a [Gate] directly to Lestia?"
Touya: "Huh? This will be my first time going there though?"
Ace raised an eyebrow when he heard this. He suddenly felt a slight shiver ran up his spine for some reason that made him a bit wary of what was about to come out of Leen's mouth.
Leen: "You can just use your spell, [Recall], Touya~."
She said with a mischievous smile on her face, and Ace immediately realized this and suddenly remembered,
Ace: "Hell no! It's that spell that requires Touya and the other to touch foreheads right?! There's no way I'm doing that!"
Touya: "Yeah! Me too! Doing it once with Yae's father is enough to leave a slight trauma to me!"
Hearing this, the girls started a giggling fit, especially Elze, Linze, and Yumina as they were there to witness that scene themselves, while Yae is sporting an embarrassed blush, she did experienced it first hand after all.
Leen: "Ufufufu~! But that's the fastest way you can get there though~?"
Ace: "No! We can just fly there! Right?! Touya-bro?!"
Touya: "Yeah! We can just fly there!... But wait... I'm still not as fast as you at flying yet! I just figured this magic out a few days ago."
Ace: "Eh~. You'll do fine~! Just pump in more mana than you usually do, that'll boost up your flight speed by a few notches. Anyway, let's get going."
Touya: "Well, if you say so. It'll mostly take us an hour or so to arrive there if nothing happens along the way. So at least an hour and a half to be sure, be ready for that, I'll come back here to pick you up. Then after that, off to the ruins?"
Ace: "Hmm~. I think it's better for you to go to the ruins first then pick up your girls."
Touya: "Yeah~, you're right. Let's do that then. Anyway, we'll be going now."

An hour later, the two are already closing in on their destination. It would've been faster if it was only Ace that was flying, his speed had once again improved this past month after all. But Touya's there too, and he isn't that accustomed to flying yet, so it took some time.
It was peaceful for the most part, until suddenly,
Ace: "Touya-bro, do you hear that? It sounded like a battle is happening up ahead!"
Touya: "Wait, what? It's just trees as far as I can see here! How is there supposed to be a battle going on here?! And I can barely hear anything because of this wind!"
Ace: "No, we're already in the border of Merica. So it's certain that the sounds of battle is coming from there. And by the sound of it, it's not something small. I'm going ahead, be sure to follow as soon as possible!"
Touya: "Oi! Hey, wait!"
Touya tried calling out to him but Ace has already shot off like a mad rocket while leaving a few sonic booms as he flew.
Touya: "Aiiii~, this guy! Shooting off like that! Hais! I guess I'll have to forcefully improve on this spell! Alright then, I can do that!"
He said to himself and immediately pumped in more mana into his spell, and shooting off into the distance while making a single sonic boom.

Ace flew at super sonic speeds and arrived at his destination, that is the place of the ongoing battle is happening. Immediately, he caught the sights of crystal abominations with the shape of overgrown insects attacking some Knights.
The attacking Knights slashes with their swords at the crystal creatures but it doesn't even leave anything more than a scratch, that just dissappears right after a moment passes. Realizing this, instead of uselessly and continuesly attacking the crystal creatures, they instead changed their focus on protecting and evacuating the civilians whilst fending of the crystal creatures as long as they can.
One particular figure caught Ace's attention. With flowing golden hair that reaches down to her hips, bright blue eyes, possessing a fantastic figure, and is garbed in a regal looking armor with the Kingdom's royal sigil on her breastplate. She's Hildegard Minas Lestia, first princess of the Knight Kingdom of Lestia.
Shaking his head, Ace smirked with a bit of anticipation.
Ace: "Welp, time to impress the princess."
He said and took two swords out of his GoB.
[Swords Description:
Omi-Sword
The pinnacle of all swords. The blade remains pristine no matter how much time passes, not giving any chances to rusts and stains. It's said to be able to slash, cut, and pierce through anything.
Cannot be used by anyone other than the creator or the chosen weilders by the creator of the weapons.
Slight modification: Could be bonded through blood.]
Ace: "As they say, one for the better, two for the best. Let's dance!"
He swooped down and landed right next to a knight that was about to be pierced by the spindly leg of the spider-like phraze and slashed at it. The spider phraze shrieked and was about to retaliate, but Ace didn't let it continue and instantly flashed in front of it and pierced its core, causing it to crumble.
Knight: "Thank you for your timely assistance!... Wait, Asura-sama?!"
The knight exclaimed in recognition.
Ace: "Mm, no problem. Now go, there are still a lot of civilians that needs to be evacuated."
Knight: "Y-Yes! Asura-sama!"
He said and ran off.
Ace shook his head in slight amusement and once again took on the air, and flew to another location and once again dropped down, and slashed with his swords at the phrazes that was about to assault some ordinary citizens. Afer dealing with them, he flashed to yet another location. He did it for quite a few more times, but all of this happened under in only a few minutes. Then finally, his attention landed the group of phrazes attacking a group of Knights, that were desperately trying to protect some civilians behind them.
Ace flew there and dropped down right in the middle of the phrazes and started slashing at each of them, the used one move that he really likes using especially with multiple opponents. Ace started spinning like a hurricane as he slashed through the group of phrazes with an excited smile on his face. His swords danced with the wind, whistling, as he moved from targets to another.
With a final cross slash at the biggest phraze in the attack, it crumbled into chunks. Ace fixed his posture as his swords turned into golden motes of light and returned inside his GoB. He turned to look at the Knights and civilians he saved, and his sight was immediately seized by the person he's been paying attention to since he arrived here moved in front of him, blushing for some reason.
Hilde: "I thank you for your timely assistance. You've saved the lives of not only the Knights, but also a number of civilians. We couldn't even do so much than to scratch those abominations yet you were able to slay them like they were nothing."
Ace: "They really were nothing. I'm just better equipped with my gears. Ah, where are my manners. I'm Ace BladeHeart, one of the three Gold ranked Adventurers. An honour to be in your presence, princess Hildegard."
Ace said and slightly lowered his posture, with his right hand clenched into a fist and was rested above his heart. It's the most basic curtesy performed in the presence of a royal, of the Knight Kingdom at that, so there's nothing he can do about it.
Seeing this, Hilde became flustered as she immediately approached Ace and helped him stand up. Though, the weird thing is that her cheeks seems to be turning dark pink for whatever her reason is in the first place, but Ace just shoved it to the back of his mind for the time being.
Hilde: "There is no need for such curtesy. Especially from you, Ace-sama. After all... we..."
She started talking, but stopped mid-way with her face quickly turning into the shade a tomato.
Taking notice of this,
Ace: 'Okay~. That's not normal. There's definitely something going on here, and I've got a strong feeling that THAT old coot Galen is the one behind it!'
Hilde: "Anyway! Ace-sama! What about the others?! We need to help the other Knights in evacuating the civilians!"
Ace: "Ah, no need for that. I've already taken care of most of the phrazes in the South, and I'm sure my companion would already be done with his side right about now."
He said and waved off her worries. He already sensed Touya arriving who immediately started taking out the phrazes on his side with his "Phrazium Swords" as he calls them. Phrazium, as the material used to make them are that of the phrazes crumbled remains. A few moments later, he saw Touya flying from the distance, heading towards his location then landed in front of them.
Ace: "Yo, Touya-bro. You done?"
Touya: "Yeah. And I've already checked, all phrazes in the area have been taken care of. It's strange though, why would a large number of phrazes attack this town anyway?"
Ace: "Yeah. Now that you mention it, it really is strange."
'I think I remember something about this being that evil servile god's doing from the light novel. I'm just not so sure of the details... didn't really pay much attention to that part...'
Touya: "Something to think about later then. Hais... Honestly, these duys are proving to be more and more troublesome as time passes..."
Ace: "Mhmm, you got that right. Anyway. Touya, meet the first princess of Lestia. Princess Hildegard."
He said and gestured towards Hilde who was listening to their conversation earnestly.
Touya: "O-Oh, right. I'm Mochizuki Touya, Grand Duke of Brunhild. A pleasure to make your acquaintance, princess."
