Chapter 72: Over my dead body

Leandre's heart lurched as he saw the woman standing at the entrance. Despite his power and authority, he still feels like a frightened child in her presence. How had she found out about his condition? He knew her well enough to predict that she would definitely give him a hard time now.

The woman stood at the entrance in a flowing floral off-green dress that complemented her elegant figure. Age had not dared to diminish her ethereal allure, for she was a vision of loveliness beyond compare. Her eyes locked onto Leandre, studying him from head to toe before shifting her attention to the two minions flanking her. "Is this my son's room?" She asked Knox in a voice that dripped with authority and command.

Knox nodded.

"Then who is this innocent damsel audaciously obstructing my path?" Her lip curled into a sneer as she surveyed the woman before her with a scornful look.
