Chapter 14: First day at the Academy
When Asami came back, he told her about him enrolling at the academy. She vaguely knew the path that Rayzen would follow. Hence she advised him on a lot of stuff regarding the academy.
Rayzen didn't mention the issue of being a 'patriarch candidate' to Asami, since he felt that the matter was not set in stone.

Having already unlocked chakra and acing the basic tests to determine strength and agility, Rayzen was admitted into class 1-A. But only after surviving a final brainwash by the 3rd Hokage's speech.
Rayzen found something interesting while getting admitted. Instead of what he thought would be four academic years in total, there was a 5th one for civilian students. It was class 0. The aim of the class was to identify the potential of the kids and to brainwash them with the Leaf ideals, namely the 'will of fire'.
From Takeshi, he also pried out the information that those who are identified as geniuses in class 0 would get special treatment and was taught Leaf secret techniques including the inheritance of Leaf sealing techniques (Fūinjutsu) according to the aptitude of the students. And it was compulsory for these genius students, selected for accepting the Leaf inheritance, to go through all 5 academic years without skipping straight to graduation. The purpose of which Rayzen felt was to learn and master the inheritance they received and to not let them die early.
He also came to know that kids joined the academy by a minimum age of 5 in this era, unless any 'freaks' are involved.
Clans being segregated at different levels by the village, with the Uchiha suffering the worst, all of them were admitted straight to class 1. He also noted that the idiots of class 0 would learn nothing new except for gaining a lot of brainwashing sessions.
Classes were separated further according to aptitude of students and class 1- A is at the top. Most of the genius kids from the clans were in this class. Rayzen sat somewhat in the middle of the class, while Sora sat by his side. Soon all the kids were in the class and the home-room teacher began the first class with roll call.

The class was much larger than in the anime, as it had 100 students. The teacher was a special Jonin by the name of Yoshida. He did not have affiliations to any clan.
" Students introduce yourself according to you roll number!"
Everyone started introducing themselves. Rayzen had kept an eye out for familiar faces but recognised none, until he heard a blonde introducing himself.
"I am Minato Namikaze. My dream is to become a great Hokage recognised by the people of Leaf."
Rayzen had a smile on his face as heard this.
Others started introducing themselves too. And soon it was Sora's turn.
" I am Sora Uchiha. My dream is to protect and play with my brother."
The class was in a brief commotion on hearing this. Yoshida even sighed to himself, in envy or not, no one knows.
Sora smiled at Rayzen expecting a compliment. Rayzen patted her head with a warm smile. Next was his turn:
" I am Rayzen Uchiha. My dream is to build a peaceful world and everyone is welcome to contribute to it."
Seeing Sora pout at him, he continued:
" And also protecting and playing with Sora... *sighs* forever..."
The class was in a commotion again, but not because of his last statement.
" An Uchiha dreaming of peace. Are you really from the Uchiha clan? "
Someone asked in whispers.
Rayzen didn't bother answering. But Yoshida and Minato gave him a serious look. Along with one other unknown girl, who was sleeping on the desk till then.
None of their actions escaped Rayzen's right eye. And soon he came to know the lazy girl's name.
" I am Shiroka Nara. My dream is to... *yawn* dream..." And she laid back on the desk again actively pursuing her dreams.
Rayzen shook his head, smiling to himself at the quirk of the black haired pale white Nara girl.
' I would like to know their prowess. Should I try to form a group of elites?'
And classes soon started breaking Rayzen's thoughts and introducing him to knowledge of the ninjas. He was really interested in learning new things. The day was over with students receiving instructions, details of courses and study materials.
Rayzen got to know that from 2nd year onwards, students with top tier scores can take on extra courses like Sealing, Medic, Sensor, Barrier etc. He also found that maths subject was different such that it is more about applying it to battles. He figured that he would observe stark differences in the field of medicine in this world and his previous one.
When the class was about to disperse, Yoshida looked at the students and asked:
" The class should have a leader to serve as a line of communication between students and teachers, and manage the rest of the students in the absence of teachers. So who wants to be the leader? "
About 12 students raised their hands and Minato and Rayzen were among them. Yoshida noted down their names. Yoshida then told:
" The names of the twelve of you have been noted. Depending upon the scores for the tests by the end of the month a permanent leader for the year will be selected. For now, I'll assign Minato as the temporary leader. Class is dispersed! "
Sora wanted to protest, but Rayzen stopped her. He felt it was childish to compete for something so trivial as 'Leader of Class 1-A'. Nonetheless, he was petty and will try for it.

It was noon and after the class dispersed, the students tried to get along before leaving for home. Rayzen pushed the reluctant Sora to make some friends.
He looked around to see Minato chatting with some people, the sleeping Shiroka, surrounding by chattering girls and some students with the Uchiha insignia on their dress glaring at him with malice. Obviously, Rayzen and Sora were not the only Uchihas of this batch.
Rayzen didn't care for their glances. He also noted that there were the reserved and shy types isolating themselves. But seeing that no one was approaching him, he shook his head and was about to leave when a hand stopped him by his shoulder.
